Roqar, then tries to swing her short sword at the stirge but she missed! Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 Begins: Stirge #02, swoops down on Roqar, only to miss grabbing onto her neck! Stirge #06, successfully attaches to Roqar’s neck and proceeds to bite her and suck out blood for 7 damage! Roqar, missed trying to stab Stirge #06 on her neck with the dagger! Xar’Tharkas’ Time Echo, missed Stirge #03, with the great sword! Stirge #03, missed Xar’s Time Echo! Willie, missed Stirge #02 with an arrow shot from his long bow! Xar’Tharkas, cuts Stirge #02   out of the air  with his great sword for 15 slashing damage! Stirge #05, swoops in on Xar’Tharkas, attaching to his neck, then biting and sucking blood for 6 damage! Dolores, cast a Fire Bolt cantrip at Stirge #05, sending it to the ground in a ball of flame for 5 fire damage! Galdor casts the shield of faith spell upon himself increasing his armor class by 2!   Round #02 of Combat! Stirge #06 drains blood from Roqar for 4 damage! Stirge #04, missed Xar’Tharkas’ Time Echo! Roqar, stabs at Stirge #06 as it detaches and flies off, striking for  3 + 8 sneak attack bonus damage with the dagger, defeating it! Xar’s Time Echo, missed Stirge #03 with his great sword! Stirge #03, swoops down on Xar’s Time Echo, attaching to his neck, biting and sucking blood for 8 damage! Willie, stabs Stirge #03, with his magical +1 Talon long sword for 11 slashing damage, defeating it! Xar’Tharkas, missed Stirge #04 with his great sword! Dolores, casts a Fire Bolt cantrip, nailing Stirge #04 for 12 damage, sending it crashing to the ground in a ball of flames! Galdor, swings his warhammer (two-handed) at Stirge #01 but missed!   Round #03 of Combat! Stirge #07, attacks Roqar but missed! Roqar, swings her short sword wildly, missing Stirge #07! Xar’s Time Echo, cuts Stirge #07 out of the air with his great sword, for 12 slashing damage, defeating it! Stirge #08, missed Xar’s Time Echo! Willie, pegs Stirge #01 with an arrow shot, for 8 piercing damage, defeating it! Xar’Tharkas, cuts down Stirge #08 with the great sword for 13 slashing damage, defeating it! Galdor, throws his javelin at Stirge #10, striking for 5 piercing damage, defeating it! Dolores, casts the Fire Bolt Cantrip at Stirge #09 and missed!   Round #04 of Combat! Rogar, stabs at Stirge #09 with her dagger for 4 piercing damage, defeating it! Stirge #12, missed Xar’Tharkas! Stirge #11, missed Dolores! Xar’s Time Echo, cuts down Stirge #12 with the great sword for 12 slashing damage, defeating it! Willie, missed Stirge #11 with his +1 Talon long sword! Xar’Tharkas, whacks  Stirge #11 out of the air, with the great sword for 5 slashing damage, defeating it! End of Combat! The party is currently in an L-shaped hallway and this is what is seen: The walls of this L-shaped hall are lined with closed doors and shuttered windows. Between them are hooks where decorations once hung. A fireplace along one wall has a large Ankheg head mounted above it. Natural light enters through a hole in the roof at the east end of the hall. The floor beneath the collapsed roof is strewn with debris. Roqar moves to a door on the west side of the stairs on the north wall and opens the unlocked door to see: This room has a conical roof and an open window to the north, through which ivy grows. A cast-iron tub with clawed feet stands in the middle of the room. Next to the tub is a rusty iron water pump Roqar is immediately attracted to the fancy old tub and looks inside of it to see it is empty, and tries to work waterpump and warm water flows from it! Roqar, decides she wants the tub! Roqar, now tries the double doors on the west end of the hall and checking for traps she does not find one and opens the door onto the balcony above the front porch, with it’s now crumbling stone railing which is covered in vines. The ground is 20 ft below. Dolores turns the corner of the L-shaped hallway to go to the set of double doors at it’s end and opens it to see: A four-poster bed stands between two shuttered windows against the west wall. Other furnishings include a desk and chair against the north wall and an empty wardrobe against the east wall. A fireplace built into the south wall features an elegantly carved mantelpiece. It is dark inside due to the closed shutters. Dolores goes to open a shuttered window, hacking away the vines that are keeping it shut while Roqar goes over to have a look at the bed.  Roqar does not find anything on, under  or in the bed and neither does Dolores when she comes over to help check it out. Willie, checked the south west walls for a secret door and didn’t find one. Dolores moves over to the fireplace and has a look first up the flue and didn’t find anything then has a look at the mantelpiece. She finds that the top part lifts off like a lid. Dolores opens the lid to reveal a compartment holding a wooden staff inside of it! Roqar, moves over to the desk to have a look at it and found nothing in, on or under it. Roqar, looks at the wardrobe which is now empty and she did not even find a secret compartment in it. The adventurers search along the bedroom’s walls for a secret door and Roqar finds one in the south east wall!

Roqar, checks for a trap and did not find one, so she opens the secret door to see: Hanging on a hook on the far wall is a handsome cloak that billows softly as the door opens. Against the north wall sits a wooden chest with tiny clawed feet. Roqar, checks the chest for a trap and did not find one. She tries to open it but it is locked so she pulls out her thieve’s tools and gets to work, however, the chest stays locked shut! Willie, casts a detect magic upon the chest and the lock mechanism glows an aura of magic about it, as does the cloak and the staff! The party takes the magical items and the 30 lbs chest, as well as the cast iron tub and lugs it all the way back to the town of Phandalin.  Along the way a bunch of Needle Blights attack the party. Roqar and Willie are surprised as they are jumped on by the Needle Blights and can’t attack during the first round. Combat Round #01 begins! Farren, hits Needle Blight #01 with a dart for  10 piercing damage! Roqar, is discombobulated at the moment!f Dolores, casts a Fire Bolt cantrip at NB #06 but missed! Xar’s Time Echo, hits NB #01 with his glaive for 8 slashing damage, defeating it! NB #02, hits Farren with needles for 10 piercing damage! Sildar, missed NB #04 with the long sword (two-handed)! NB #03, missed Xar’Tharkas, with it’s needles! Galdor, whacks NB #05 for 4 bludgeoning damage with the warhammer! Willie, cuts down NB #04 with the +1 Talon long sword for 11 slashing damage, defeating it! NB #05, claws at Galdor but  missed! NB #06, missed Xar’Tharkas with it’s needles! Xar’Tharkas, drops NB #06 with his great sword for 12 slashing damage!   Round #02 of Combat! Farren, missed Needle Blight #02 with his fist (unarmed strike)! Roqar, stabs NB #02 with her short sword doing 5 + 10 sneak attack bonus damage, defeating it! Dolores, casts a Fire Bolt cantrip, hitting NB #03 for 3 fire damage! Xar’s Time Echo, cuts down NB #03, with his great sword for 15 slashing damage, defeating it! Sildar Hallwinter, drops NB #05 with his long sword (two-handed), for 9 slashing damage, defeating it! End of Combat! At this point, a large Minotaur approaches the party, weapon lowered and saying, “Hello there, you all seem like you were having fun there. Seems I was a little late to the party, Ha Ha, Ha!” Roqar says, “We still appreciate you coming to help, would you be willing to help carry this tub? It’s quite valuable (smiles).” Willie says, “This tub is a heavy bitch!” Armanuk says, “I’d be happy to help, is this a trophy from a victory?” Roqar says, “(to Willie) Well its cast iron, he he, so it’s heavy. (to Armanuk) Yes, it is, a victory over some nasty orcs.” Armanuk says, “Well done, was it a hard fought battle?” Roqar says, “ Oh Yes, they had evil magic helping them, but it wasn't enough, we still defeated them."   Nothing of value was found on the needle blight bodies and the party continues onwards towards Phandalin. Once in Phandalin, Roqar sees a For Sale sign on one of the houses, complete with a barn and tool shed and eyes it for buying it herself with her new fancy cast iron tub placed inside! They make their way to Tobin Stonehill’s Inn, when they are surprised to see Falcon the Hunter here with Corwin the caretaker and Pell the stablehand.
