[LFP][5E][LGBT+ Friendly] Looking for 1 player for a narrative-driven homebrew campaign

Hello! My group recently lost a player due to work schedule changes and so I’m looking for another player for a long term campaign on Wednesday nights from 7pm-10pm(ish) EST via Discord and Roll20. This is a homebrew campaign that does not use the traditional dnd pantheon and will be largely theatre of the mind with some occasional maps during combat. We've been playing for about three months so far and the players are level 6, currently working their way through a political conspiracy and potentially even unlocking secrets to the universe from an NPC who can't handle her liquor. You know, normal dnd stuff. All that being said, I like to craft narrative-driven stories that are within an immersive world that has consequences to your actions. For example, if the party turns down a hook, that NPC isn’t going to just sit around and wait for the party to be ready for it, that NPC is going to take matters into their own hands. While I love tense and exciting combat, I prefer when it comes second to roleplay. Ultimately, the players are in control of where the story goes. I am looking for a player who will take initiative to engage with the other players and the world around them. This sounds very interesting. I have been looking for a game that has an immersive world and committed players. I am just wrapping up a 4 year campaign I have been running and would very much like a chance to play a character for a while. What is your name and what are your pronouns? I'm Trevor and I'm a he/him. How old are you? 47, but not a grumpy old man. Just to be clear, I am free of prejudice and bigotry. What type of story are you looking to embark on?  Honestly I am so starved for legitimate role playing that most any story would be great. If I was held to flame I would say I love heroic stories where the characters are genuinely trying to make the world a better place. Fighting oppression, saving innocents, righting wrongs and all the stuff that make for epic storytelling. Is there a particular character you've been wanting to play? If you're one of those people who prefer to wait to see the lore to determine what you play, tell me instead about your favorite character that you have played.  I am the type to make a character that fits into the existing campaign but I also have multiple characters I would like to play. Right now I am most interested in a Monk/Rogue character that is kind of a Robin Hood/Scarlet Pimpernel with light shades of Batman (minus the edge lord component) thrown in. In case it's not clear, the character would either be or was in the past a very minor noble who takes it upon himself to fight corruption within the ruling/wealthy class by both assaulting their finances (flowery way to say steal from the rich) and instill a sense of fear in order to get them to change their ways (scared straight for lack of a better term).  Violence would be a last resort for this character. That being said, he is just one of many concepts I had on the back burner. What do you enjoy the most about DnD? I like character development through meaningful interactions with NPCs and the other player characters as well as watching others develop their characters in similar ways. Basically i love the co-operative storytelling that D&D provides. Can you describe your DnD playstyle?  I tend to stay in character when it is warranted but can usually tell when expedience is called for. For example, I will roleplay the encounter with the orcs (including the combat) but if I am just trying to refresh a few supplies quickly before the group sets off for another adventure I will just explain what I am after and will accept the costs without needing to roleplay an inconsequential  2gp haggle that eats up the other players time. Sadly, I am not particularly funny, what humor I do have is a dry wit. As a result I tend to play more serious characters (again not edge lords). That is not to say I am against humor in the game, just that my skill in that area is limited. I am not a rules lawyer, power gamer or attention hog. I will be honest, I am not really sure what you mean by 'DnD Playstyle' so I hope the above answers the question. What are your hobbies and your pet peeves?  My biggest hobby is 3D modeling and printing miniatures for tabletop use. As I said, I was the DM for almost 4 years and I designed, printed and painted most of the miniatures I used in the campaign. As for pet peeves, when someone is oblivious to the impact their actions have on others. People who leave their shopping cart in the middle of the isle, groups that walk side by side on narrow sidewalks, when the car next to you in a parking lot is so close that you can't open the door to get in and so forth. What type of story are you looking to embark on?  Looking for a story where characters change and grow as people throughout the challenges they face. I'm a huge fan of High-Fantasy stories covering multiple different themes that focuses on the players and their involvement in the world's affairs. Whether it's super political or exploration-based, I don't mind, but I prefer a good mix of everything so that all different types of characters can shine. If you're one of those people who prefer to wait to see the lore to determine what you play, tell me instead about your favorite character that you have played.  I 'm open to playing anything that fits with the party's dynamic, and doesn't shake it up too much. Currently, the concept I have in my head is a shy Centaur girl involved with a unicorn in some way shape or form  (So probably a Celestial Warlock or a Divine soul Sorcerer) . Other than that, I don't have a lot planned for the character and can be flexible with the backstory. What do you enjoy the most about DnD? My favorite part of D&D is the character banter tbh. The small role-play moments that make the characters feel alive and real. Can you describe your DnD playstyle? I've Co-DM'ed a lot of campaigns, so I'd say my playstyle is more based on whatever will help things run smoother. I've often been in the position of helping the party get together for the first time, or plotting things with the DM behind the other player's backs. A lot of my characters have taken up the leadership role as well, but I try to use it sparingly and give all of the player's their time to shine (That probably won't be the case this time around.) What are your hobbies and your pet peeves?  One of my favorite hobbies is to make playlists for different characters, scenes, or places in my campaigns, so I'm pretty much always listening and sorting music in Spotify. RPG and MMO videogames take up a lot of my time as well. Inter-Party conflict that could potentially turn into PvP has always been one of my biggest pet-peeves as a DM and Player. I've been in a lot of campaigns where the party just doesn't get along at all. Don't get me wrong, I love a good argument between PC's, but when it's all the time, it can really grate on me. Hi there! I'm very curious about this game. Most of the games I've played have been homebrew and I love learning all about the lore and setting that people come up with for their worlds. I've been in a few systems, but I'm definitely most familiar with 5e. What is your name and what are your pronouns? Hi! My name is Sydney, my pronouns are she/her but I also really like they/them currently. How old are you? I'm 23! What type of story are you looking to embark on?  I would like to be a part of an adventure story where the characters really have a chance to get to know each other and affect the world around them as it goes on. I'm a big fan of character growth; especially if it comes up unexpectedly and just makes sense. You know? Is there a particular character you've been wanting to play? If you're one of those people who prefer to wait to see the lore to determine what you play, tell me instead about your favorite character that you have played.  Well, the one I'm very curious about playing is an air genasi but it depends on your lore what the backstory and things will be. I haven't played a paladin or a cleric yet very extensively, so classwise that's where my interest lies but I'm pretty flexible. Sorcerer's are my favourite class, but I do play them a lot so I'd try and branch out. My favourite character I've played wasn't actually in fifth edition, so I'll tell you about one in it. She has a rogue elf who was a little more religious than you'd think. With her world suddenly plunged into darkness however ( think like, put into a bag of holding ) she spent a lot of time researching what could have happened and stealing any books that had information on portals or space or magic and kept those rather than selling them. Her biggest fear was living the rest of her very long life and never seeing the stars, and since all of her friends were human they didn't feel quite as frantic as she did. Throughout the campaign she went from being selfish and caring only about her goals, to ultimately putting one of them aside to help out her favourite person in the party. At some point she multiclassed into warlock to gain additional knowledge previously hidden from her and they slowly rebuilt the world.  Her patron was a silver moth, goddess of twilight and I just think that's a neat detail to include. What do you enjoy the most about DnD? I enjoy making new friends, and getting to tell a story with other people. It's fun to see where things go when everyone has separate things they want, but also they may be more in line than originally thought.  Can you describe your DnD playstyle?  For the most part my characters tend to try and fill a gap in the party, but after that it does follow a pattern. I take awhile to get warmed up to people but once I'm comfortable I'm good for suggestions, and thinking outside of the box to solve problems. What are your hobbies and your pet peeves?  I actually do a fair bit of writing right now! Some of it's collaborative, but some is just personal projects I'm working on in my spare time. I also like video games but my current laptop isn't the strongest so, I'm stuck to my switch and Fire Emblem Three Houses. My pet peeves are probably just overly sexualized characters? I don't really know why, but i just think there's a lot of interesting ways to take charisma and it's almost disheartening when it's always that route. I'm really fond of RP, and I enjoy getting into character. I'm definitely looking for a safe space where I won't feel put ton the spot or uncomfy. My favorite character I have played in the past was a warforged paladin. Their name was a string of letters and numbers, but they gave themselves the name Steele due to their color. Their past was marred by war, and after shutting down for a long period of time they were awakened to find all the remaining warforged dead. They hid their appearance in order not to draw suspicion from other travelers and embarked on a quest to find the truth about what happened to their kind hundreds of years ago.  What do you enjoy the most about DnD? - I love finding friends, roleplaying, and I love story telling. Story is so important.  Can you describe your DnD playstyle? - As you can probably guess, I'm fairly roleplay heavy. I am definitely a protector. Honestly, I don't care what you call me, if someone is talking I listen to them attentively and respond accordingly of if they are referring to me or not. I've actually had multiple of my friends just call me "guy" How old are you? I'm seventeen , I'll be turning eighteen this upcoming Summer! What type of story are you looking to embark on? Honestly, I just want to play D&amp;D. Whatever works for me, I've been a part of so many different types of games and scenarios. Whatever you want to run, I'm down to play. He recently got captured by his lonesome (and while the party is looking for him) he is in the cavernous cell all alone in the dark, he is anxious and scared. As above while my guy is captivated he was brought food and a candle. Well the party had previously put a dress on him (over his clothes, long story.) and I ripped the dress off and used the candle to burn the dress and threw it out of the cell. I attracted two of the monster guard dogs of sorts and as they were distracted with the burning dress. I took my shirt of set it ablaze and threw it at one of them saying. "Catch." To the other I threw one of my darts at him and hit him with a flurry of blows as he came up to my cell bars. (I was stripped of everything except my darts and clothes basically, idk how they didn't find my darts but I'm not gonna complain with what the DM gave me.) Anyways, long story short. I really enjoy coming up with creative ways to get out of things or to accomplish things. Can you describe your DnD playstyle? It's hard for me to describe, since I DM so much I guess I'm still kind of figuring out and polishing my play-style I guess. I'd say I like a good mix of both RP and Combat. I REALLY love history and researching it. I'm also a photographer and love to work out.
