When did moving gifs become a thing?

We were all kind of surprised when somebody used a gif and it worked.
How did they manage that? I put gifs on the map, but they don't animate. Are you saying yours does?
Yep. The DM put one in as an avatar on a character sheet. It moved very slowly on the map, but moved fine in the init order.
Interesting. I've been unable to replicate this. I can upload .gif images, but they remain static, in all the locations you've mentioned. I hope this is a thing, it would be so awesome to be able to have animation... -Phnord
