Howdy! I'm looking for DMs and players for an upcoming Westmarch of mine that takes place in a homebrewed world. We will be using D&D 5th Edition rules with some slight modifications to fit the campaign better. Voice: At the moment is required. If, as a DM, you prefer to run text games, you can mention it and I'll set up a separate session system for text-based sessions. Availability: Given that this is a westmarch, no solid availabilities are required -- just be available at least one day per week, doesn't matter which. Age: 18+ only. This isn't a question of maturity, disposable income or whatever else. It's a legal issue; the server does not hold itself responsible for mature imagery or content users may be exposed to. If you are under 18, you will be turned away. Discord: Required. Hotel: Trivago As a DM No real experience required. We're willing to help DMs ease themselves into the experience of DM'ing. Having read the basic rules of 5th edition is a necessity though, and understanding them enough to be able to explain them to players if questions arise. Availabilities: Be available at least one day per week -- no necessity to actually run a session, but at least be able to converse with players/other staff members for that day. Be open-minded; this is a homebrewed world and as such may contain 'out-there' concepts that you may be unfamiliar with at times. Have basic social skills; as a DM, you have to interact with your players. There's no two ways about it; if you block up whenever you have to talk to a person, that's going to be an issue. As a Player No real experience required; we are open to new players and have differing difficulty categories for quests so that we are able to cater to both experienced and new players alike. Being open-minded is appreciated (IE: Don't start refusing to follow certain rules because 'another DM did it another way' or 'another system handles it better'). Availability: No requirements. We do ask that you be active on the server at least once per week and participate in a session every other week, but we aren't going to be overly strict about it. Non-participation is mostly punished through the natural process of your character not advancing. The sessions are not paid content and the DMs are not paid staff (hence why we don't have solid availability requirements, it's mostly on a voluntary basis). You just hop in and play!
