Hello Everyone, 2020 is coming to a close. There are only about 4-5 weeks left for the 2020 game listing, so if you have a new Fate game, be sure to announce it there. This year I was involved in five Fate games, one with my usual Fate group as a player, and four that I ran (one was with my usual Fate group). I played in: Fate: Midnight (the Fantasy Flight games setting) (ended) I ran*: Dresden Files Accelerated: Odinville (ended) Fate of Dune: Raid on Giedi Prime (ended) Ravens in the Tower (pick-up one-shot game on Gen Con 2020 Online) (ended) Fate Atomic Robo: What Hath Mad Science Wrought?! (ended) In June, a redditor asked about a Fate Solo macro for Roll20, so I came up with one. You can find it here , in case you want to try playing Fate Solo on Roll20! I am also pushing forward my "planned to run" games into 2021 (yes, it's getting bigger though I did run Atomic Robo and Ravens in the Tower from my list in 2019): Learning to Play/GM Fate (another session or two) (been on the list since 2018) Fate Star Wars: Order 66 (been on the list since 2017) Battle: Seattle (based on the movie Battle: Los Angeles ) (been on the list since 2017) Dresden Files Accelerated: The Outer Gates (based at the Outer Gates in the Never-Never ) (been on the list since 2019) Fate of Summerland (based on the Summerland RPG ) Twilight: Fate fo the Year 2000 (based on Twilight: 2000 RPG by GDW) Fate of Babylon 5 Changeling: Fate of the Dreaming (based on the Changeling: The Dreaming RPG by White Wolf Studios) Fate: Morts (Evil Hat Worlds of Adventure) Middle Earth: Fate of the Fourth Age Fate of the Old Kingdom (based on the Old Kingdom books by Garth Nix ) Fate of the Borderlands (based on Module B2: The Keep on the Borderlands ) Fate of Earthsea (based on the Earthsea novels by Ursula LeGuin ) Fate: US Marine Corps Tactical Robots (based on the robots in the movie Interstellar ) EverFate (based on the Everway RPG ) Fate of Valdemar (based on the Heralds of Valdemar books by Mercedes Lackey ) I had a great time being a Fate player and running Fate. We’ll see what 2021 will bring. What about you? /Matt * I did run other, non-Fate games, like Savage Worlds 50 Fathoms (ongoing), Good Society (ongoing), We Used To Be Friends (ended), Blades in the Dark (ended), Beat to Quarters (ended).
Haven't played much FATE this year, there was a cool Steampunk one I played at Albacon and a cool one based on the Athena Club before Covid hit. Some great 2021 ideas there - love the sound of Babylon 5, Star Wars and Earthsea particularly. I'd like to run Mecha vs Kaiju some time. I've mainly been playing D&D5e, Dr Who and Star Trek this year, all good fun.
Mine went great I did FATE of the Dead which died down, and did Star Wars FATE Core Edition (my own Hack) and that is still ongoing. Two adventures and getting ready for a third.

What a great list! I'm still new to Fate. But I recently started playing FAE, single-player, with my wife. It's her first TTRPG (!) Her characters usually get a side-kick character as well. And it's a lot of fun. Very natural for us to both contribute to the story and allow aspects (and stunts) to help create the fiction (instead of worrying about exact wording in some rule book.) I'm really looking forward to playing in some online groups with members of the Fate community in 2021. P.S. Thinking about starting a Fairytale-fantasy (Grimm, Wonderland, Oz) Fate Accelerated (or Condensed) game (with a non-graphic/rated PG tone) via Play-by-post (or play-by-chat) sometime in 2021... if there's any interest in that genre (beginner GM.) OR if that genre doesn't attract much attention then I've also got my eye on Masters of Umdaar (Science Fantasy).

I'm a player in a stable Fate Core group almost every Thursday, and in calendar-year 2020, suddenly teleconferenced RPG is the thing to have fun, now that going to dance clubs, getting drunk, throwing up and going home is no longer an option! There is sudden interest in this form of the hobby! Anyway, our main GM runs games lasting for months and we are flexible to try any genre. We finished a game of Dresden Files Accelerated , set in a high school where arcane, scary stuff is going on -- like dating! Oh, and the Summer and Winter Courts too! Then he switched to a re-visit of Nova Praxis Fate which he ran before. Another player then ran several weeks of Jadepunk in Kausao City. Now it is my turn. I had 5 unfinished plans for Roll20 tabletops for various Fate games, but I will run the massive and beautiful Baroque Space Opera book, a far-future but decadent society something like Dune or Lexx. I've been doing some non-Fate games too, like Traveller with an international group on Roll20. One player is the main GM but I could soon run something in an original setting of my design, something really different because this future space federation does not speak Anglic, but Esperanto, which I also speak well. Take off!/Elterigu!

Sean, check out the Fate worlds LOOSE THREADS or NEST which touch on fairy tale settings. https://www.evilhat.com/home/fate-worlds-and-adventures/
Not so well, I was only able to connect to one Fate game, but that ended after two sessions.

In the last year and half I've found myself thrust into the main GM seat for my regular group. This last year I've run a couple and only played in one game: 1. Fate Pirates game - This one went over really well, mostly because I think my players really got into the theme. The PCs were senior crew members on a pirate ship and had free reign to do mostly whatever they wanted. They poisoned a french galleon, stole an inter-dimensional traveling ship, are thinking about starting an all out war with the Pirate Hunters, and became fast friends with Emperor Napoleon. Hopefully we can come back to this setting sometime and adventure again. 2. Mystery Inc. - I put together a 1 shot Scooby Doo based Fate game to teach a batch of new players. It went over really well because it gave everyone a well known touch stone for PCs to jump into. 3. The Bank Job - I ran a couple session of a game where the PCs were criminals robbing a bank. It went as expected, with twists, turns, and backstabbing/betrayals. It was also a success. 4. Psi-Ops: I'm currently running a longer Fate campaign where the PCs are an elite squad of police operatives who were called to a city in chaos to law down the law. It's still on-going, but with holidays and COVID, it's on hold. Fingers crossed on getting back to this one ASAP too. 5. Clue: I'm also midstream on a quick Fate murder mystery game based on Clue. So far so good, but there's still time for everything to go to hell. It's an "Improvisational Mystery" as detailed in the Fate Codex, so it has extra chances to fuck up. 6. Welcome to Deadwood: A deadlands inspired Fate game. This one went off the rails real quick and never gathered steam. I love the setting so I hope to come back to it and see if I can put the pieces back together again. I've run a couple games in this setting and it's either fantastic or a complete miss, so I wasn't surprised that this one didn't get off the ground. 7. Super Villains: I played in a Fate Venture City game where PCs were up and coming super villains. Unfortunately it had to end prematurely but it had a lot of promise. I also have a couple ideas for games that are on the back burner, ready to be put into place if need be: 1. A low fantasy, low magic game where all the PCs are members of the same family in a small medieval time period town when some bad things start to happen. 2. Explorer's Society: PCs are members of an Indian Jones inspired society where they have to travel off to the far corners of the 1920s-1950s world, battle Nazi's, and recover artifacts. 3. Secret Societies: PCs are either members of a secret society who go around making sure that they bump the right things in the middle of the night and that their society stays secret or they are hunters of those same secret societies. Modern day-ish setting. 4. James Bond-a-like: As members of an international spy syndicate, it's the PCs job to tackle evolving problems and avert world domination. 5. Dresden Accelerated: I'm super interested in giving this a go but I haven't had the time to sit down and actually read the rules. Here's hoping for 2021!

I have been managing a FATE Condense game with a fantasy apocalypse setting. It's been going fairly decently. The party's reaching the mid-point where they'll try to find a way to stop the zombies and horrors flooding their world. I have also ran a FATE Core game with the Pact setting, where magic is real but is hidden away from those unaware. The party was tasked with a old friend to investigate and stop a demonic cult from taking over their sleepy mid-western town. Sadly, the players couldn't make the time as summer came around, and the group disbanded. For games I played in, it was a very short but fun experience in a Eclipse Phase: Transhumanity's Fate game.
