A daring crew of space pirates slink back to their secret hideaway on the outskirts of a city that glitters in the dim rays of a sun that never moves. It is a wretched place, the seat of a cruel and exploitative regime that you and your fellow revolutionaries have sworn to bring an end to! Please read the whole description before applying! Scum and Villainy is a retro sci-fi hack of Blades in the Dark , a fast-paced, rags-to-riches game about building up a gang of scoundrels with ingenious heists. Games in this system make use of a 'living world' that develops behind the scenes as rival factions play out their own schemes, meaning that the setting changes on its own from week to week. I am running a slightly modified version for this campaign, with a homebrew space opera setting and a player party that's split into two teams, one taking jobs across the solar system on their spaceship, and the other dealing with problems at home in the city where they have their hidden base. Downtime will also involve some elements of The Quiet Year, as we work to develop and protect an anarchist commune together. As the GM, I'm keen to facilitate a setting that reflects the interests of the people who are playing in it. The Emone system, the city of Apogee and all other elements of the worldbuilding have been designed with active input from the players, that I take and transform into a vibrant story world to explore. This sort of thing is an ongoing process, with blank spaces on the map ready to be filled at every turn with new ideas that excite and inspire us! I’m asking for players to contribute £10 GBP per 3-4 hour session of play to compensate for the time I’ll need to dedicate to maintain the server and prep content in-between each game. However, you'll be able to play your first score for free before deciding if you want to commit further. Similarly, there’s no expectation for any one player to be involved with every session, and you should feel free to drop in and out if needs be while continuing to have access to the server to socialise with the rest of the group and keep tabs on what’s changed while you were away. To this end, I create private recordings of each session which we can go back and listen to if needs be. The sessions are currently run every Friday (18:00 EST) & Sunday (16:00 EST). These aren't restrictive slots, and on any given week, players should feel free to mix up which side of the story they're on if they want to, and if their schedules are accomodating. At the time of writing we have a weekly slot available for the Friday game! Lastly, I’m committed to providing an inclusive and accommodating space for LGBTQIA+ players. I myself am a 25 year old trans lesbian with nearly 10 years of GMing experience and sincerely appreciate the importance of being able to feel comfortable at the table. Newcomers are also very much welcome ! Please fill out your applications in the listing below, and if you have any questions please feel free to send me a direct message. I can't wait to get started with you all! https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/250040/the-breathless-city-lgbt-gm
