How do you show a dropped weapon or a "interact with an object" action wasted in your token?

Hello there from Spain, I'm newbie an I'm trying to keep dynamic control of the PCs' actions, like when they drop a weapon or charge a handcrossbow, something visual. Does it make any sense?

Automating it would be difficult, a little less so with the API. But I would suggest using token markers. You could use different colors, Red for Action, Blue for Bonus Action, Green for Reaction, Yellow for Move, and Pink for Item Interaction, that sort of thing. Charge them all up at the beginning of a turn and turn each one off as they are used. But I think it would be very cumbersome in practice.

Thanks! Right, was thinking in token markers or something similar. I guess that experienced players just don't use this, but find interesting knowing your solutions
I guess a multi sided token is another option. Each "side" has a different image so as GM you can scroll through them and set the appropriate one. A lot of work to set up the images though.
I use custom token markers, combined with API (Aaron's Token Mod) and macro buttons to do what you describe. Automating this can be fun and will really liven up the tabletop, but requires a pro account. I focus mostly on visuals rooted in character builds or unique features of the foes they're encountering. For example, I'd only set up a custom token marker for "disarmed" if one of my players frequently uses that ability, or maybe a "reloading" icon if we've got a crossbow user. Usually, it's ability effects like bardic inspiration or hunter's mark. If you're looking for visuals, the game-icons.net website is a great place for status icons or visual cues you can add to your games (either manually or with API). I do wish character sheet abilities and spells were designed to trigger API calls automatically, which would make the process you describe more seamless for out of the box use.
Good! I've already created my own set of Token Markers, mostly states, weapons and a shield.
