Like the title says, I'm a regular DM and sometimes player of more years than I want to admit in public looking to be a player. I need to recharge my batteries after suffering some burn-out from having to suddenly shift to playing on here because of this year. If you can get through my long-winded resume, you should get an idea of what I'm looking for and what I can bring. What I REALLY want to play: Pathfinder 2nd, Shadowrun (access to 5th and 6th core books), The Dark Eye, Anima: Beyond Fantasy, AD&D 2nd [edit] Starfinder What I am willing to play: Pathfinder, D&D 3.5, D&D 4th (others listed below are negotiable, best to ask first) Times: Saturdays are preferable (US Central time). I work night shifts on weekdays so morning to early afternoon could work. Latter half of Sundays are off limits as that is my regular group time. Once a week would be amazing, but I am willing to go anywhere between once a week to once a month. While finding a long-term campaign is the most preferable to me, I would not mind a one-shot or short series to get a feel for the group/game. Group Style : A healthy mix. I enjoy good, in-depth role playing with everyone but I also like to roll some bones to get the action going. I am not a power-gamer. I will try to make my character the best at what they do, but I don't go into hard math and digging through all material to make it so. My preferred group of choice is a more mature set of people willing and able to go into those themes, but only as needed per the tone of the game. I am no stranger to character death and am more than willing to accept that fate if the dice are not pleased (as they often are on here towards me). I am comfortable with PvP ONLY if it is established and agreed upon. I have zero tolerance for disruptive role play (murderhobos, chaotic stupid, etc) and people who use PvP as vengeance. If I feel this will be a problem with no remedy, I will leave. Favored Archetypes: Cleric has been one of my favorite character classes in D&D. I also enjoy more martial characters like fighters and paladins. In Shadowrun I enjoy playing shamans most, mages and physical adepts after that, and some times a gunslinger or street samurai. Genres: For the fantasy games, I am looking for high adventure. I love chasing and thwarting villains, exploring new lands and ancient wonders, and meeting and talking to a variety of people/creatures/gods. I also enjoy some genre blending; adding horror elements to keep me on my toes or anachronisms to spice things up. Established settings/modules to homebrew worlds are all fine by me, I'll just need a primer on them. For Shadowrun, some good old Shadowrun is all I need. But I'm not one to stick 100% to lore so I'm not opposed to a few changes here and there. Homebrewing/House Rules: I have no problem with system tweaks here and there, such as some small additions to or subtractions from numbers to make things more in line to what you want. Big changes, including custom classes, races, and systems, I will need to go over before deciding. As a player, I generally won't bring that kind of stuff to a table. Naturally the exception being like when a previous Pathfinder GM allowed us to use the Race Guide so I was able to build a variant elf. But I doubt I'll do that to a stranger's game. Communication: As you can guess, I have no problem with text. I can do voice in sessions, but I tend to clam up and will take some time to get out of my shell. I do not own a webcam so I cannot do video. Other: Just assume I'll only do free games. I can't think of anything else, but feel free to ask. Experience Games Ran: AD&D 2nd, D&D 3.5, D&D 4th, Pathfinder, Pathfinder 2nd, Anima: Beyond Fantasy, BESM 3rd, OVA, D20 Modern/Future/Urbana Arcana, [edit] Starfinder Games Played: All in Games Ran, D&D 5th, OVA 2nd, Rogue Trader, Alternity, L5R,Call of Cthulu (4th or 5th? can't remember), Shadowrun 4th and 5th, Brave New World, Exalted 2nd, Some OWoD (my memory fails me on that), many Homebrews from friends/clubs/acquaintances [edit] Deadlands, Savage Worlds Games Still Learning (Not Played Yet): The Dark Eye, Shadowrun 6th roll20 Experience: I understand the basics well enough. Macros and the like tend to elude me, so assume I need help if you use anything more advanced than the basic roll commands using chat, the dice tool, or from character sheets. That's that. If you made it this far, thank you for putting up with me. Please allow me some time to reply to any responses, especially if you post during the evening while I'm at work. Thank you and have a good day.
