I am using the Lost Mine of Phandelver module which came with all the handouts i need. i am looking to move those handouts to the map for use in game combat. is this possible or should i be saving the image and uploading it again?

If you want it on the map it will have to exist as an image in your art library (or the base image itself will have to be under your marketplace purchases - doubtful if it is supplied as a handout). You can't move an image from from a handout directly to a map AFAIK.
