Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "Could someone bring me coffee?" Shandra Brennick the BarMaid Says: "yes, yes, I will get it for you, (goes over behind counter pours a cup, walks over to the Wizard)". Says: "Here is your coffee sir." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Good day Sir, Can you detect identify and perhaps open magically locked chests and items?"" Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "thanks" Shandra Brennick the BarMaid Says: "you are welcome." Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "I am not able to do that sorry" Says: "at least I could make item bigger or smaller" Says: "I CAN do the same to creature" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Would you be willing to join our merry band of adventurers? " Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "yes, sure" Says: "Actually I can search information about respective Item in library, i am welcome in library" Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk drinks some ale Willie Belson the Elf Ranger Says: "smokes some green tabbacco" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "I'm Roqar I can introduce you to the others, what name you go by?" Madame Rosene the InnKeeper Says: "There should be plenty of wizards here, heck the city is practically run by them more than Lord Nasher Alagondar." Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "I am When, When the Wizard" Madame Rosene the InnKeeper Says: "the council of the Many Starred Cloak, they call themselves" Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "So what item you need me to identify?" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Over there is Willie, hey save some for me, anyways, thats Ferren, Goldar, Armanuk, Dolores" Farren Nidanas: (the chest being a side thing we're doing, our main objective is to find a druid right?) Dungeon Master (GM): yes you are actually heading back to Thundertree to talk to Reidoth the druid, the party knows the green dragon is there. Willie Belson the Elf Ranger Says: "How are you When the wizard" .ooc I think so Madame Rosene the Says: "The leaders of that consul are Ophala Cheldarstorn, Gyrion, Kabal, Lukan and Nostura." Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "I am fine, two weeks ago I lost my job so it is pretty sad" Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk waves at When Roqar the Elf Rogue Inhales from the green tabbacco Willie Belson the Elf Ranger Says: "Well are we goign to kill the dragon?" Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer drinks coffee Willie Belson the Elf Ranger Says: "coffee is good" Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "could you show me that item, that you need to identify?" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "I hope we can kill both the green and that white one, but while we're here have this stuff identified and get some money selling stuff" Roqar the Elf Rogue Shows Wizard the greatsword Madame Rosene the InnKeeper Says: "Identified? That's going to cost you a pretty penny around here." Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer looks at sword, smells sword, tastes sword, touch sword with ear. Says: "uh..." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "We also have a chest we need to get opened" Motiejus L.: I will roll for arcane 20 | 10 ARCANA (1) When the Wizard
Dungeon Master (GM): ok what knowledge of the arcane were you seeking? Motiejus L.: to know what kind of sword is that, or something like that Roqar: (Speaking of looking for people Roqar will leave the Inn looking for a fence that may be willing to cut a deal) Motiejus L.: Did I succeed? Dungeon Master (GM): ok, you know that the sword bears craftmanship by a forger known to have made weapons for wizards Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "uhm... the sword bears dwarven craftmanship by a forger from Gauntlgrym, known to have made weapons for wizards" Roqar the Elf Rogue Takes another puff from green weed Dungeon Master (GM): ok, what will the party do in the morning? go seek out one of the named wizards first? Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "Would anyone like to go to library, so I could use my library acces to search for information for this sword?" Roqar: At night Roqar will seek out a fence through talking with other Rogues hopefully Dungeon Master (GM): ok ok, we can move on so roqar can seek out the fence, what will others do overnight? Motiejus L.: I will go to library Dungeon Master (GM): ok Roqar: Dolores would probably like the Library also Dungeon Master (GM): the trip up to neverwinter takes a day so it's getting late. ok I don't have a full map of Neverwinter as WotC did not supply one, so just role-play out the various places in town you wish to visit. here's one: https://s3.amazonaws.com/neverwinter/city-map-small.png Roqar: Shady places asking around gambling dens find a fence in case we want to sell something or buy something Dungeon Master (GM): ok Madame Rosen informs Roqar of a place of gambling and she goes there then. Let's have her playing blackjack at at table and talking to the dealer. Roqar: ok Dungeon Master (GM): ask away Roqar Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "You know of any Merchants that buy or sell stuff that maybe worth something more to someone else?" Farren Nidanas: (Is there like a section or area of trees near the city?) (Like walking distance, just so I could pickup herbs that I can use later on) Dungeon Master (GM): Dealer says, "sure, there are plenty in town, they have a market square here in the River district." Farren there are plenty of woods around the town Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "While you’re at it When, can you also identify what type of cloak this is?" pulls out a cloak folded neatly from his bag Dungeon Master (GM): Likely in the morning Farren you can pick any of the wizards mentioned to go visit in the Protector's enclave. Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer does same thing that he did to sword 17 | 14 ARCANA (1) When the Wizard Willie Belson: lol Farren Nidanas: (Sorry) Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Thanks, is there a fee to get into the market square?" Dungeon Master (GM): ok, and When the wizard believes the cape is one made by a mage, that specialized in making fancy capes for people. Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "the cape is one made by a mage, that specialized in making fancy capes for people." Gives back those items Dungeon Master (GM): The Dealer says, "Only from what you buy while shopping there." Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Thanks When." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Thanks, will keep it in mind if I need to go there" Dungeon Master (GM): The Dealer pauses a moment as if in thought, says, "If you are looking for a guild, you might want to seek out Elwin, the bookseller in the market." ok, anything more before I say it's morning? Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Ah, Wonderful, need to speak with him before I go to the Market" Motiejus L.: I go to library Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk he takes the cloak and places it in his bag Dungeon Master (GM): ok, it is now morning and everyone is rested up and go to various places in the city. Roqar: I go to ee Elwin in the morning Dungeon Master (GM): When arrives at the library, Roqar heads into the market looking for a fellow that sells books. Librarian says, "Good morning When, any particular book you seek today?"
Roqar: (Always good to make nice with the guild before using their talents ) Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "Good morning, sir, I seek for book where would be written about mage that makes fancy capes and forger known to have made weapons for wizards" Library Access When the Wizard Background: Cloistered Scholar Though others must often endure extensive interviews and significant fees to gain access to even the most common archives in your library, you have free and easy access to the majority of the library, though it might also have repositories of lore that are too valuable, magical, or secret to permit anyone immediate access. You have a working knowledge of your cloister's personnel and bureaucracy, and you know how to navigate those connections with some ease. Additionally, you are likely to gain preferential treatment at other libraries across the Realms, as professional courtesy shown to a fellow scholar. I use this Dungeon Master (GM): ok, Roqar asked around for the location of any bookseller and she is pointed in the right direction and approaches a wagon that has a stall of books and a fellow tending to it. Farren Nidanas: I go to the outskirts of the city and searches for bundles of herbs Dungeon Master (GM): ok, just roll on each herb you seek, with a 40% chance to find each one Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "ood day Elwin, I'm new in town, wanna make sure I'm not stepping on any toes before doing business" Dungeon Master (GM): ok for When lets say a 50% chance for both books being in the library on the subject you seek Motiejus L.: What should I roll for? Dungeon Master (GM): Elwin, looks surprised as a pretty lady he never met before introduces herself to him by name. Farren Nidanas: (rolling for how many bundles I could find) Dungeon Master (GM): just a d100 Motiejus L.: rolling d100( 98 ) = 98 Farren Nidanas: (nice) rolling d10( 7 ) = 7 Dungeon Master (GM): another one for When Motiejus L.: rolling d100( 7 ) = 7 Farren Nidanas: (7 bundles I could potentially find, now rolling each if I find them) Dungeon Master (GM): ok, he finds a book that speaks of the wizard that made the sword [a 1-3] or cape [4-6]: 6 ok Farren Nidanas: rolling 7d100( 72 + 31 + 89 + 69 + 36 + 98 + 52 ) = 447 (I find 5 bundles) Dungeon Master (GM): the info that When gleans from the book infers the cape that was found is one (that the dm needs to look in the other module for it's info for), so hold on. As to the Sword, all When finds is a book naming some of the dwarven forgers in Guantlgrym. ok back to Elwin, "Eh, Good Morning Mame, yes, I am Elwin? What can I do for you?" Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk ties up the bundles and puts them in his bag, then proceeds to head back to the city Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "I wastold you could help me find out about a certain, um, club here in the city, for those that deal in things that are frowned on by some" Dungeon Master (GM): When believe the cloak is one called the cloak of many fashions from a description in the book, the cloak is able to change the style, color, and apparent quality of the garment. The cloak’s weight doesn’t change. Regardless of its appearance, the cloak can’t be anything but a cloak. Although it can duplicate the appearance of other magic cloaks, it doesn’t gain their magical properties. Elwin looks around before answering and in a hushed tone while looking like he's offering a book to Roqar she asked for says, "Ah my fair maiden, you will need to visit Whiskey Dick's in the Chasm part of town. Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: ""Ah thanks, thats where I can find out more. Nice to chat with you" Dungeon Master (GM): Elwin says, "when there ask for Gwendolyn." Motiejus L.: Why therer is ravine in middle of city? Farren Nidanas: (Which consul is available or can be accesible this morning?) Dungeon Master (GM): must be a result from the spell plague? Roqar: (Heads for Whiskey Dicks Dungeon Master (GM): Well I guess that since it is morning the wizards will be together in one place taking care of daily town business. Farren Nidanas: Ophala Cheldarstorn, Gyrion, Kabal, Lukan and Nostura rolling d6( 2 ) = 2 Dungeon Master (GM): So i guess they are at a keep in the Protector's enclave. Farren Nidanas: (I go to the group of wizards headed by Cheldarstrom) Dungeon Master (GM): ok, that's good enough when Farren arrives at the building a servent answers the door Says, "What can I do for you this fine morning sir?" Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Goodmorning, is this the Council of Many Starred Cloak?" Dungeon Master (GM): Servent says, "Yes" Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Are there any wizards currently in the building that I can talk to? I seek aid in the magical arts." Dungeon Master (GM): Servant says, "Ophala is available at the moment, do you wish to speak to her?"
Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Yes" Dungeon Master (GM): Servant says, "Very well, follow me to the guest room, would you like a tea as you wait?" Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Gladly, thank you." Enters the building and follows the servant Dolores: (im back. it was a lot more crowded than we thought) Dungeon Master (GM): Servant says, "Good, right this way please." The servant leads Farren to the guest room and pours a cup of tea and sets it before him. A short time later Ophala, appears. Ophala says, "Greetings sir, what may I do for you today?" Farren Nidanas: (welcome back) Dungeon Master (GM): Dolores it's the next day, early morning in Neverwinter city and Roqar went to inquire about a fence while When went to the library and now Farren is visiting a wizard Dolores: ok Dolores is copying a spell into her spellbook from the book she found earlier. Dungeon Master (GM): alright Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Hello Miss Opahala, I'm here to ask if you perhaps know ow to unlock, or rather dispel, a chest that has been locked by magical means that of which me or any of my companions couldn't open." Dolores: (i'm copying spider climb) Farren Nidanas: (Ophala*) Divination Savant Dolores Feat: School of Divination / 2nd Level Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, the gold and time you must spend to copy a Divination spell into your spellbook is halved. so that would cost 25 gold and an hour Dungeon Master (GM): alright so you went out to buy the supplies needed at first Dolores: yes where do i buy them Dungeon Master (GM): just say you tagged along with Roqar to the market in the Rivers district and found what you needed there. Dolores: okay Dolores catches up to Roqar to refill her pouch and find the new components for the new spell she's learning. Dolores: (in the market) Dungeon Master (GM): Ophala says, I could do that today for you, as i have a spell ready that could open this chest here for you, It will cost you 10 gold." Dolores: im going to deduct gold from my inventory Dungeon Master (GM): ok Roqar "Hey Dol, I'm going off for awhile, catch you later" Dungeon Master (GM): ok, do you remember where that chest was found? one of the shipwrecks? Farren Nidanas: (I kind of forgot, was it from the mansion way way back?) Dungeon Master (GM): or before that? ah ok Roqar: (It was found in the manse as I recall?) Farren Nidanas: (it was from before the ships) (we got it before we went back to our town) Roqar: The Half Orcs Manse Farren Nidanas: (Not really an Half Orc Manse, they were just using it as a base but we found it at the 2nd floor right?) (I assume) Dungeon Master (GM): ok yes and Ophala is seen to cast a spell then proceeds to open the chest and it comes open to reveal Dolores: (did we rest?) Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk thinks for a while Roqar: (Yes Ful HP and Spells) Dungeon Master (GM): Yes you rested overnight in the Driftwood. What appears to be a rod of some sort with galloping horses at both ends and a button mechanism Roqar: (Wand of Magical Steed?) Dungeon Master (GM): yes you found this rod with another cloak in a secret room on 2nd floor Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk pays the 10gp Dungeon Master (GM): you could press the button and see what happens of course ok Ophala says, "Well this is a fancy rod for sure, you have here. There is a button here of which I guess activates it." Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "If its not to much trouble, please do." Says: "Check what the rod is." Willie Belson the Elf Ranger Says: "i was wondering what that did also" Dungeon Master (GM): Ophala removes the rod from the chest and presses the button, next thing she knows is that she can't move the rod at all, it remains fixed where she held it, even after letting go of it! Farren Nidanas: (yep)
Dungeon Master (GM): Ophala says, "Interesting, it seems to just hover in place when you press the button." Ophala grabs the rod and presses the button again and is able to move it and places it back in the box. Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Huh . . . its interesting to say the least. Thank you for testing it out." Dungeon Master (GM): Ophala says, "Not sure what you could use it for, but as we just saw pressing the button causes it to hover in place where you held it." Farren Nidanas: (There's nothing else in the chest right? Only the rod?) Dungeon Master (GM): yes, only the rod Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk he nods at Ophala's statement Roqar: (Sell the box? hehe) Dungeon Master (GM): and the black cloth it was wrapped in Farren Nidanas: (I see) Dungeon Master (GM): Ophala says, "Where did you find this interesting piece? Anything more I can do for you today?" Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "It was found in an abandoned mansion. Changing the topic, do you have any information regarding the dragon sightings?" Dungeon Master (GM): Ophala says, "Ah, an old mansion. Ah, yes, we get daily reports of the green one living in Thundertree, of course. The white one that has been spot to the south of the realm, has not been seen up this way yet." Dolores the Human Wizard Says: "I wonder if that dragon ate the lady at the farm already" Dungeon Master (GM): [She's hoping for that?! ;p] Roqar: (So is Roqar) Dolores: who knows what dolores is hoping for just wondering... innocently.. Roqar: So does Roqar make it to Whiskey Dicks? Dungeon Master (GM): ok, yes she went there she's inside now Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Looking for Gwendolyn" Dungeon Master (GM): Bartender points to a lady on opposite end of bar. Roqar: Walks over to her "Good day, I'm Roqar" Dungeon Master (GM): "And a good day to you, I am Gwendolyn, what can i do for you today?" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: ""Looking for a particular club so that my doing business here wont cut into the clubs business"" Dungeon Master (GM): Gwen says, "Ah, I see, then you have come to the right place." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Ah wonderful, good to be here" Dungeon Master (GM): Gwen says, "membership is 5 gold a month. Is there anything we could be of help with for you?" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "I may have some items to sell in a day or so, I'm with a party of adventurers in town for awhile, we came here to find out about some of the stuff we acquired" Dungeon Master (GM): Gwen says, "I see, When you bring the items, we can look into it for you." Roqar the Elf Rogue pays the 5 gold Dungeon Master (GM): [alright does the party reconvene back at the inn then head out for Thundertree?] Dolores: (i hope they can identify the staff and wand i got) (and the strange powder) Dungeon Master (GM): Gwen takes the five gold, "Thank you, you have a good time in Neverwinter city now." Dolores there are a few other wizards in town you could visit. I will roll on it to see if they have an identify spell prepared already and remember it will cost you i'll say 150 gp per item. Dolores: i dont have that kind of money haha Dungeon Master (GM): ok Dolores: i guess ill just experiment with the staff Dungeon Master (GM): alright Dolores: perhaps against enemies this time Dungeon Master (GM): ok Dolores: and not freakin xar Dungeon Master (GM): ok shall we head off to Thundertree now or is there anything more here in Neverwinter first? Roqar: (Could try to find someone that will do it cheaper? HEHE) Dolores: (wheres the fun in that) Roqar: Off to Thundertree hopefully We'll find some money hehe Farren Nidanas: indeed Dungeon Master (GM): (To GM)rolling d6( 4 ) = 4 Dungeon Master (GM): ok, you arrive in Thundertree, no encounter along the 20-25 mile route Roqar: Roqar could try robbing some rich guys in Neverwinter if we dont LOL
Motiejus L.: Why there is 5 players, but ten characers? Dungeon Master (GM): Gradually, the trail becomes an old, overgrown lane winding between dilapidated buildings choked in vines and brush. Ahead of you, in the middle of the settlement, rises a steep hill, upon which stands a stone tower with a partially collapsed roof and an adjoining cottage. A dirt road hugs the base of the hill and wends its way between old stone houses, many of which are roofless ruins with interiors open to the weather. Other buildings appear more or less intact. The whole place is eerily silent. Galdar, Falcon & Sildar are NPCs I guess no one here runs Armanuk, we can leave him out then Dolores: who runs xar Motiejus L.: What is purpose of therse NPC's? Dungeon Master (GM): you see an old sign that says, "DANGER! Plant monsters and Zombies! Turn Back Now!" Farren Nidanas: (They joined the group) (part of the party, simply) Dungeon Master (GM): however the Plant Monsters and Zombies have been crossed out and says Green dragon now. Sildar you rescued as he was your employer, now serving as your guide to help find his friend and your other employer Gundar rockseeker and his brothers Falcon you met back in Phandalin when he was chased out of his own hunters' lodge and is along with you now. Roqar: (Knocks on door hoping Druid is alive) Motiejus L.: If no one is controling xar and that armanuk, so maybe we should have left them at city? Dungeon Master (GM): This small house appears to be in better condition than the ruined and dilapidated structures nearby. The doors are reinforced with heavy iron bands, and thick shutters protect the windows. Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "Why are we even here?" Dungeon Master (GM): Aramanuk i will leave in the city Roqar: We can use them to fight the Dragon Motiejus L.: I mean why we arre there Dungeon Master (GM): may as well Xar as well. Roqar and Willie know this building is where Reidoth the druid lives. do we still leave Galdor the cleric in the party for his healings? Dolores: hm sure Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "why do we need Reidoth the druid?" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Hey Reidel!! You still here?" Dungeon Master (GM): after knocking on the door and say that you hear Reidoth Motiejus L.: We remove glador Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "He knows about the area" Dolores: i think galdor should stay in case we need heals Motiejus L.: It sounds like powergameing or something Willie Belson: powergaming? Reidoth the Druid Says: "Hello?! Yes I am still here and in one piece! Whom may I ask is Visiting today? Do be careful here because of the green dragon and it's cult of followers on the other side of the village."" Roqar: Its not powergaming when we dont have a healer in the party his player left the game Willie Belson: exactly lol Dungeon Master (GM): and when that happens i give the players a choice to keep or retire the character, for the most part. Willie Belson: i can heal a bit i have 3 clw Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Hey Its Roqar and friends here to take care of the dragon problem" Dungeon Master (GM): I think what i will do is have falcon (and his two companions) just split from the party when you go into the woods again) Roqar: Rebuild the Hunters Lodge hehe Reidoth the Druid Says: "Ah! I see, hold on, a moment." A moment later he opens the door. Says: "Greetings! I see you brough the whole gang with you today?" Xar'Tharkas the Half-Orc Fighter Says: "Yes sir the bloods and the crisps" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "What can you tell us about the green dragon?" Reidoth the Druid Says: "So you wish to deal with the dragon? Good luck with that." Says: "I don't even know the green dragon's name yet. But now he has that nutty group of followers worshipping him. Doing his beck and call or they asking favors of him in return for rewards." Wizard the Lizardfolk Sorcerer Says: "thank you" Dungeon Master (GM): [You are also here to inquire about him helping you in the Neverwinter woods to find where the Cragmaw goblins are.
Roqar: (OOC Its the Cult of the Dragon In Character we dont know much about but they BAD PEOPLE) Motiejus L.: I should have not known that Dolores: are dragons evil Dungeon Master (GM): [it is known to you that rumors say magics in the woods make people lose direction and become lost & that it may be why no one can find where the main goblin compound is ] Roqar: Not all of them are Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "We also need your help finding our way in the woods seeking out the Cragmaw Orcs" Dungeon Master (GM): any mention of the other reason you are here to Reidoth? ok Dolores: would dolores know if the dragon we're dealing with is evil Reidoth the Druid Says: "Ah, yes, those pesty creatures have been ambushing folks along the High road and Triboar Trail. I would not doubt they are in league with the anchorites of Talos. They should be living in an old ruined castle in the Neverwinter woods almost due south of that old haunted manor where that paladin and & family lived."
