The Align to Grid tool makes things close but not perfect, especially with hand-drawn maps that might be off by a few pixels. These steps will work with any map, even old maps with grids that are not uniform or that have partial squares on the borders. Make the page dimensions "too big" for the map (such as 100x100). Drop the map on the map layer. Right click the map and select Advanced->Is Drawing. Move the map into the upper-left corner of the page. Leave a square or two of border on the top and left. Use the bottom-right anchor to make the map take up most of the space on the page (again, making it "too big"). Right click the map and select Advanced->Align to Grid. Select a 3x3 grid on the map (not the page's grid) and follow the directions. The map will be very close to lining up with the page. Move the map so the topmost-visible and leftmost-visible lines match lines on the page. Adjust the center-right anchor so that the rightmost line matches the nearest line on the page. Adjust the center-bottom anchor so that the bottommost line matches the nearest line on the page. Repeat 8-10 until the other lines on the map are pixel-perfect. If the squares in the center don't match up, you usually need to adjust the rightmost and bottommost lines out one further line on the page grid. Use the arrow keys to move the map into the upper-left corner of the page so there is no white space. If there is a partial-square border, you can often make the map go one square off the page to hide it without losing information. Adjust the page dimensions to eliminate the white space on the right and the bottom.
