How do I get this command: !token-mod --set currentside|* to run every time I drag a character from my journal to the map tabletop? I'm very new to API but not new to Javascript and coding in general.

Yeah, the API can't access Marketplace assets.  If you want to be able to change them, you'll need to download the images and upload them to your user library.
