[LFP][5E][LGBT+ Friendly] Looking for 1 player for a Wednesday night narrative-driven homebrew campaign

Hello! My group recently lost a player due to his work schedule changing and so I’m looking for another player for a long term campaign on Wednesday nights from 7pm-10pm/11pm EST via Discord VC and Roll20. This is a homebrew campaign that does not use the traditional dnd pantheon and will be largely theatre of the mind with some maps during combat. We've been playing for about four months so far and the players are level 7, currently working their way through a conspiracy and potentially even unlocking secrets to the universe from an NPC who can't handle her liquor. You know, normal dnd stuff. All that being said, I like to craft narrative-driven stories that are within an immersive world that forces your character to make difficult choices and face consequences to their actions. For example, if the party turns down a hook, that NPC isn’t going to just sit around and wait for the party to be ready for it, that NPC is going to take matters into their own hands. While I love tense and exciting combat, I prefer when it comes second to roleplay. Ultimately, the players are in control of where the story goes. I am looking for a player who will take initiative to engage with the other players and the world around them. Similarly, I would like to work with the player on creating a backstory that ties in with the world and can be woven into the plot.   Important things to note:  This campaign is LGBT+ inclusive (and, frankly, enthusiastic. The pantheon is two lesbian goddesses) All NSFW content is fade to black There are no inherently evil races, only people and creatures who choose to be evil Absolutely no sexual assault  If you have other content you are uncomfortable with or don’t enjoy, I am happy to discuss and accommodate.  If you’re interested in learning more and wish to apply, please feel free to leave a comment or send me a dm with the answers to these questions: What is your name and what are your pronouns? How old are you? What type of story are you looking to embark on?  Is there a particular character you've been wanting to play? If so, tell me about the character. If you're one of those people who prefer to wait to see the lore to determine what you play, tell me instead about your favorite character that you have played.  What do you enjoy the most about DnD? Can you describe your DnD playstyle?  What are your hobbies and your pet peeves?  Can you make the weekly time slot of Wednesday at 7PM EST? Thanks!
HI there!  This sound very cool.  Are you expecting the new player to come into the story at lvl 7?

Hello! What is your name and what are your pronouns? Jeff Geho, He/Him/His How old are you? 27 What type of story are you looking to embark on? My favorite adventures are the ones that focus on storytelling over combat while maintaining an interesting and captivating pace. Although that is not to say that I do not enjoy combat but for me, it is a spice that sweetens the dish, not the entire meal. I enjoy the worlds that have enough depth that you can begin to explore and evolve your role-playing over time and build your character into the narrative. I enjoy games that allow an exploration of causation and consequence. And generally, I just like playing DnD period. Is there a particular character you've been wanting to play? If so, tell me about the character. If you're one of those people who prefer to wait to see the lore to determine what you play, tell me instead about your favorite character that you have played. I enjoy to fit my characters into the narrative and the needs of the group, having been a long-time DM it just comes as instinct. I enjoy playing characters that are atypical for the standard roles you see them in, E.G. strength/charisma rogue. As for my favorite character, that would be an old character of mine Stojan Zdravic. The character was a death cleric who multi-classed into shadow sorcerer as it fit the narrative. He was hardened in the frozen northern wastes. His family and to a greater extension, the rest of his tribe were stripped away from him when he was young and imperial slavers came. He was sent to a hard labor camp and struggling to survive this new harsh reality, he developed a hunger born out of fear and necessity more than out of a desire to eat. This hunger caused him to create a few tenants for himself, affirmed by the deaths of those he saw die who could not adhere to the necessity to eat things they found disgusting. As the hard work, conditions, and malnutrition took his fellow slaves in droves, his infantile sort of tenant worship raised an old god, one born out of the necessity of survival, from slumber. He would eat anything that he knew not to be poisonous and would prepare all sorts of terrible feasts from the remains of what he and the party eventually conquered. (The multiclass into shadow sorcerer happened when he ate part of a shadow dragon that the party killed, which fused permanently to his soul adding a fun beast from within dynamic). His focus was returning the philosophical harshness of the realities of death, and thus enhance the meaning of life, to the civilized areas of the world. His biggest regret was that he saw society to have forgotten the innate connections between life and death by having death shepherded so far out of people's lives that they no longer could conceptualize it. The character also let me speak with a Russian accent, which was incredibly fun. What do you enjoy the most about DnD? I enjoy the joint and cooperative storytelling experience, as well as the friends you made along the way (you know, the real treasure :P). Can you describe your DnD playstyle? My playstyle tends to be centered around the storytelling side of the game. I enjoy building stories within the party that as the storylines resolve themselves and come to fruition sweeten the experience. As for combat, I enjoy taking a supportive role, in whatever aspect that means for the party healer or buffer/debuffer. But I've played every class in 5e and many other classes in other systems and I'd have to say my favorite thing about a character is leaning into their flaws and weaknesses to create interesting moments that feel natural.  What are your hobbies and your pet peeves? I have a wide range of hobbies, I enjoy construction and crafting, tabletop war games, the gym and Yoga, reading, writing, cooking, and a variety of other things. The manner in which I like to diversify my portfolio is through experience. As for pet peeves, I would say that mine hinges on unnecessary rudeness or being mean for no explicable reason. Can you make the weekly time slot of Wednesday at 7PM EST? Yes, nothing now or in the predictable future interferes with that time slot. My Discord is Sountribe#8124 Let me know if there is anything more you'd like from me! I've read all and appreciate all of the rules. :)

I am Dan, and I am interested in your game. I DM for my own group, but unfortunately we haven't played in about 2 months due to conflicting schedules (vast majority of my PCs are University students). I am looking to be a Player so i can get better at DMing for my own group and games. What is your name and what are your pronouns?  Dan (Daniel) , pronouns him/his/he  How old are you?  I am 27 What type of story are you looking to embark on?   I am interested in playing a fantasy, high character driven story, and I am fine if a character dies. Is there a particular character you've been wanting to play? If so, tell me about the character. If you're one of those people who prefer to wait to see the lore to determine what you play, tell me instead about your favorite character that you have played.  I have a few vague ideas for characters I'd like to play, I will leave them vague to make for most wiggle room for plot and back ground. I have rolled random on Dnd beyond for few of these. Name Krielor Thickle    RACE: (Aquatic) Half Elf    CLASS: Cleric of Tempest domain Back story idea: Far away ocean fishing village worships water spirits (or god of sea). Krielor got lost at sea for several days while fishing. He/ she (haven't decided gender) prayed to the ocean/ water spirits for help to get home for several days to no avail. Krielor in a last ditch effort prayed to the light gust to carry him/her home. The wind changed direction and brought him/her back the right way. after that Krielor held a grudge against the Sea and water spirits, and left on a pilgrimage to find the wind spirit who helped him/her. Gained powers praying to wind primordial. Name: Todd Zeller    RACE: Gnome     Class Artificer ( if allowed) Basic idea: Traveling merchant, gathering Magic items to sell for profit. Lacks any magic powers, so uses his mind to create magic. (i.e. creates items that cast the spell for him. Fire bolt cantrip is like a mini hand cannon that casts the cantrip, but he cant cast if he doesnt have his items/ tinker tools). He is a bit bitter to the magically inclined, but has a heart of gold, and snatches gold like a rouge, but not as good. Hinfaeth Scornscale  Race: Dragonborn (black) Class: Fighter (purple dragon Knight, or Cavilier) Back story: Mostly undecided, rather a mercenary trying to find a place in world or lost soldier trying to find redemption. Sorry for all that text, but I am willing to play any class/ race if those don't fit. What do you enjoy the most about DnD?   The sheer amount of character depth one can achieve. and the absurd stuff that shouldn't work, but the dice gods think otherwise. Intense moments that immerse one into the narrative and you feel like you are actually your character. Can you describe your DnD playstyle? I am very much a go with the flow, lets ride this ship and see if it sinks or somehow stays afloat. I DMed only and this would actually be my first time as a player. trying to get better at Role Play is my goal. What are your hobbies and your pet peeves?  Hobbies include videogames, board games, reading. Pet Peeves, , Chewing food/ chips with mic on. I like making senarios for my own groups and making battle maps and lore even if they don't get used. Can you make the weekly time slot of Wednesday at 7PM EST?    I am on MST so 7pm would be 5pm for me and I work a 8-4 job, with a 15-30 minute commute. So that time should work for me. Thank you for the consideration, and if you got any questions for me message me.
What is your name and what are your pronouns? Wandarer or Dave, He/Him/His/Himself How old are you? : 52 What type of story are you looking to embark on? : A co-operative homebrew campaign, where we can explore your world and get to know the characters more in depth over time.  Is there a particular character you've been wanting to play? : If so, tell me about the character. If you're one of those people who prefer to wait to see the lore to determine what you play, tell me instead about your favorite character that you have played. :  I find I can always find something I enjoy to play, and am happy if I am helping fill a useful role. But off the top of my head and from what you have said so far, I have the beginnings of an idea. Using Tashas, a middle aged Gith lady. who has reformed her youthful evil ways. She now seeks to gain some redemption, travelling about and helping others as a wandering monk of mercy with a crying visage mask. I would of course work with you to expand the idea and fit it into your world. What do you enjoy the most about DnD? : Exploring the Gms' homebrewed world, learning more about it and seeing our characters grow together as we do so. And of course enjoying a game together with people who feel likewise.  Can you describe your DnD playstyle? : Co-operative, often bringing tactical experience from age, enjoying rp and encouraging it in others.  What are your hobbies and your pet peeves? : Hobbies include rpgs, movies, books, billiards, spending time with my family, online and card games.  Pet peeves that could possibly come up... Hmm.  People that purposely harass other people to make them feel less and refuse to apologize. In game, I do not appreciate other players who try to tell you what your character should do because what you are doing is wrong, especially when their characters say nothing. And I do not like when people of the campaign do not show up on time or leave early all the time etc without any explanation or care, disrespecting everyone else's time and commitment.   Can you make the weekly time slot of Wednesday at 7PM EST? : Absolutely, my schedule is static and I am in EST. If you have any more questions, I would be happy to answer them.  Be well, and good luck in your game in the new year. :)
