The band of brave adventurers ventured forth to save the daughter of the Millar, who has been savagely attacked and kidnapped at the hands of foul goblins. The sun was already high in the sky when they set off into the frontier. High above the fetid water, it seemed like they were walking in the clouds as the party headed along the western road. The razor sharp sense of the Half-Elf Alexandria alerted the party of danger. Using illusive trickery, striges flew out into view. The merry band defeated the army of striges with ease, with the mysterious Monk Vincent standing out as a formidable ally.  That evening as the sun set and the swamp water shone as pools of sliver in the moonlight, the intrepid bard Gigi tuned her lute over the sound of the Elf/Dwarf Ruckus dismay over his broken bag of holding, drowning out the sound of grotesque manifestations from the swamp attacking the merry band. The battle was hard won, with much deserved rest needed. Blood ran hot after battle as  Uklah the lizardfolk cleric professed her love to their monk companion. Feelings that were eclipsing the affection that was previously held for the human Drago.   Drago the earless Sword shines cleaving in the night sky Death to all your foes  But alas, the group found little repose that night as Vincent alerted a giant crocodile to the camp. With heavy eyes, but steeled hearts. Our heroes slaughtered the monstrous reptile, with the valiant efforts of Alexandria who was downed. And  Uklah unleashing her inner beast and began to devour the creature, much to the chagrin of Alexandria . The next day moved swiftly to the night and the adventurers made camp near a mausoleum. Drago the sliver fox fighter discovered goblin tracks in the area. A most promising find for the next day.  Tracking the goblins proved to easy, as the entrance to the goblins cave was discovered before midday. The group stormed the lair. Gigi falling into the despicable traps laid out by their devious foes. Chasing after the goblins deeper into the cave; they were ambushed! Goblins swarmed everywhere getting the best of Gigi and Vincent. Thankfully the two young adventures found vengeance at the end of battle. As party looked for a safe place to rest. Gigi and Vincent announced they must return back to Hope and learn from all that they had witnessed.  And so the remaining party waits, silently to dive deeper into the cave and rescue the Millar's Daughter. But will it be too late?
Alexandria's Journal 16 Highsun Barely any time to wash the blood from my armour after returning from Cathal’s Doom before we need to head out. Olaf the Miller has reported his daughter Daise is missing. Based on the state of the two who escaped, it looks like the work of goblins. Bahamut watch over her until we can get there! Uklah’s presence gives me confidence that we’ll find her. She is a shining light in these dark lands and the truest friend. The sturdy Drago has proven ever reliable (as well as appealing to Uklah’s eye) and I think they’ll both be sorely needed looking at these newcomers… the cheery tiefling Gigi seems well-meaning enough but I hope she’s prepared! The suave looking Vincent clearly has martial skill but I fear a strong wind would blow him over! And as for Ruckus, words fail me… Bahamut teaches us to champion the underdog but this deluded fool of a dwarf seems to think he’s an elf…? We’d not been gone long before we were beset by stirges. These were no more difficult to put down than those ones in the fishermen’s village but I was impressed with Vincent, he seems deadly with those throwing stars. 17 Highsun What a night we had! Attacked at first by some Mud Mephits and Mud Golems. We managed to fight them off without too much trouble but after settling back down, Vincent woke us with alert of a Giant Crocodile! It might be the toughest thing I’ve ever faced… or that could just be because I was nearly swallowed by the thing! I was saved by a combination of the party but once again, Uklah’s blow proved decisive to a Giant Croc. As grateful as I am to her, it does frighten me a little to see the bloodlust in her eyes at times like this… I worry my friend is in danger of losing control - but I swear it’s those people she traveled with who made meat a taboo for her. I need to get her to realise she can control her own emotions and destiny. Bahamut watch over her! We’ve tracked a band of goblins to their lair, I hope we’re not too late. Storming across the threshold, we threw back their initial defences. Bahamut protects me but those daggers they weird look covered in shit - I must warn people to carry ointments to treat the disease they surely carry! Pushing through the tunnels, we came upon a room with a strange elf crafted door… pushing in, I failed to notice the sneaky blighters and we were ambushed! I didn’t see what happened at the rear, but after putting down this vicious bunch, I notice that some of the party don’t exactly look in the best shape. We’ve paused to catch our breath and I think some of the party need to retreat to tend to their wounds… I cannot abandon the girl so I’ll stay and pursue these swine. Ruckus is also staying. Despite his oddness, he does seem a reliable sort so far! Of course Uklah is staying too - her loyalty and friendship is unwavering (although I think she may have tried to bite me earlier…), I must find a way to reward her when we’ve finished here.

Time of departure and return:   Depart - 16 Highsun.  Return - 18 Highsun Areas of interest:   Hope, Old Westward Highway, Goblin Cave Route Taken:  Hope - Old Highway, 36 miles due west - Goblin Cave Enemy Contacts:   Highway - 7 Stirges - all eliminated Highway camp - 3 Mud Mephits, 2 Mud Gollums - all eliminated Highway camp (second encounter) - 1 Giant Crocodile - eliminated Goblin cave  - 4 Cave Goblins, 6 Goblin Runts, 2 Feral Cave Goblins - all eliminated                                Casualties:  None Mission Outcome:   Incomplete. Success still achievable.   Recommendations:  We have made good progress clearing the Goblin Cave so far, but Gigi and Vincent require evacuation. I have decided to escort them back to Hope. Recommend Alexandria, Uklah and Ruckus continue forward with reinforcements if possible. Personel Reflection:   A simple mission with a worthy cause. I regret having to leave my friends Alexandria and Uklah to continue without me but with Ruckus and the reinforcements from Hope to assist them I have every confidence in their success. Gigi is a ray of sunshine upon this bleak frontier. Her bubbly personality reminds me of the young woman my Daughter was becoming when I left Arania. How I miss my family... Vincent is an incredible warrior. What he lacks in experience he more than makes up for with skill and bravery. The sight of him jumping upon that Giant Crocodile, delivering blow after blow from above, is something I will never forget.  I have been relentlessly drilling my old combat maneuvers and this quest presented me with the perfect opportunity to try them out in the field. I was more than satisfied with the results!
