Basic account help

Hi folks, I tried looking/searching the first page of topics here but couldn't find what I'm looking for. I have been playing a game (DND Lost Mines of Phandelver) for around the second half of last year when I took over as DM. Recently, some of the controls seem to have changed (both in the side bar and individual page/bookmark settings) where I cannot access the GM layers like door lines, individual PC sight line when fog of war is on, and other lighting settings. The tutorials that I can find seem to focus on pro/plus accounts that have more access. Thoughts?

Dynamic lighting isn't available to free accounts, you need at least Plus level for lighting. See what is available at each subscription level at https://app.roll20.net/why-subscribe-to-roll20
Thank you for your reply. I understand the difference between the account types, however I used to have more controls over the lighting in the game when I first took over GM'ing. I also cannot figure out how to allow my PCs to pass through doors, or to see when they move around in the map with the fog on. Do I have to move my PC tiles to get through doors and open up the fog of war every time?

It sounds like you are running a game set up by a Plus or Pro user, then? It's possible at some point you or someone else switched from Legacy Dynamic Lighting to Updated Dynamic Lighting? That would yield controls different from those you are used to. The ability to move through DL lines is on the first tab of the Page Settings, since it is shared by both Dynamic Lighting systems. You can toggle the behavior there. Also, when you are referring to fog, which exact feature are you referring to? There are several that can be loosely called "Fog": Fog of War, Advanced Fog of War, or Explorer Mode.
Thank you for your reply. For the fog part, on page settings for each individual page I have two tabs - page details and legacy lighting. Under Legacy Lighting I have a check box for fog of war and a dial for Darkness Opacity (GM). If I tick the box for fog of war, it makes the entire map for my PC's black. No moving by them of their token reveals any map as it did previously. If I untick the box, my PCs can see the entire map. It is possible the original GM was a pro/plus user, i'd have to ask, but they had to leave our game. The page settings/ page details tab I turned off the grid switch and that seems to have allowed passage through doors and such but also anything on the map. Is there a middle ground?
With the "Fog of War" option enabled, you have to manually reveal parts of the map using the reveal tool. With the "Advanced Fog of War" (maybe only available to Pro?) the map reveals itself as a token is moved, based on the lighting that has been set up.
@Farling thank you for that. I had a feeling that when the lighting changes took over, that the fog of war I was seeing was how it was going to be. From what I gather of you and @Keithcurtis responses, I wonder if the original DM must have completed removing himself from the game and changes from their account to mine is where the control change took place and that what I see is what I should have. Thank you both for the responses and the guidance!
