Reporting Failures as well as Successes

Is there any way to have the dice roller declare the number of successes and the number of failures in the chat window? I'm trying to set up a Song of Blades and Heroes activation roll, and apparently it's pretty complicated. It goes like this: First, you decide whether you're going to roll 1, 2, or 3 d6 for the figure. (got this) Then, you roll and count the number of dice equal to or higher than the figure's Quality rating. (Successes are actions the figure can take) THEN you find out how many failures you had. This is important because 2 failures means your turn is over and it passes to the next player. But if you only roll 1 die, you'll never get 2 failures. The ideal for this macro would be to ask you how many dice to roll, then roll them and report X Successes and Y Failures. But right now, it just subtracts the failures from the successes. Any idea if this is possible?

You would need to use the mentor level feature called the API because you are trying to get the roller to do multiple things with one result.
While it would not be automated a multiple line macro and using your eyes to count the successes/failures would work labeling them 1st, 2nd etc. would allow them to progress through. Mayhaps it is an over reliance on automation issue, after all until very recently you had to roll actual dice, add them up and compare them to a table and go from there. There was a post a while back that asked for a macro or script that would roll 3D6 and divide the number by 2, If players can't divide numbers from 3-36 by two I wonder how they can log on to the site, dress themselves etc.
The way I've done it in ShadowRun was similar to al e. 's suggestion. We would setup the success roll with a /roll command so the dice were more visible. We would then eyeball failures to check if we glitched or not. The only way to fully automate this would be to upgrade your support level to Mentor and program it through the API, as Pat S. suggested
Cool to know! Thanks you guys. I've been eyeing the upgrade bar, as I really want online tabletop programs liek Roll20 to flourish. Strapped for cash right now, but I'll keep it in mind. Once I've programmed it with the API, can I make it free for others to use?
Yes, you can.

There are a wealth of scripts out there already, you don't have to be a mentor level to go browse them. API Forum
