[LFP][D&D5e][Free][Interest Check] The Far Lands - Prodigies (New Players and First timers Focused 2/3 shot games!)

Edit 21/01: What started as a lone DM trying to give back to the community has become a venerable tsunami of help and support! We now have Over 4 DMs of varying experience, timezones, days available and playstyles all coming together with the simple goal of helping bring D&D to new and eager adventurers! With this many ways to easily take the plunge into trying this great game, there has never been a better time to get involved! _______________________ The first step, the beginning rung on the ladder, that first sharp tooth taken from that wolf who tried to eat your face. This is where it begins, who knows where it will lead? When I first found that spark of desire to play D&D myself, I was excited but also overwhelmed by how I would even go about getting into that first dice rolling session. Things are certainly easier now but with more and more groups looking for commitment, experience, a monthly sub or more, I know it can be daunting to simply dip a toe in the pool to see how it is! Far Lands - Prodigies is designed to help those people who have heard about or felt an interest in jumping into D&D, but have either been too nervous, too busy to commit long term, or simply too bad with luck in finding a game to enjoy. Prodigies aims to give those new players a first taste of D&D 5E to see if it suits their pallet, and have fun every step of the taste test. And although this is not a full on long term campaign call, I think the chance to meet fellow new players and friends in the same boat as you, and even a potential future group, all while having hours of fun in a game we all want to play still sounds pretty tempting to me! ;) This opportunity is intended for 4-6 D&D aspirants new to the game, and to give them a few sessions (roughly 3 hours per session) to learn about all the beginner concepts such as making a character, how combat works, skill checks and then to put it all together with a friendly and supportive group looking to dive in just like you! Then once the foundation is set, start the engine up and have some good honest fun playing the game with exactly that as the main priority above all! The game will look to take place at 7pm CEST Tuesday and will be free to play. (I'll likely have my PayPal.me link in the discord in case you want to do the virtual equivalent of buying me a drink after the session but this is completely optional, would purely be a kind gesture on your part and will not affect the session or future support in any way and is not affiliated with Roll20. It WILL be spent for drinks and chocolate) Sound like something you want to try out? Then I highly recommend you let me know in the LFG application and/or leave a message below and let's get you involved! https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/273650/the-far-lands-prodigies-first-time-slash-newbie-focused

I'm very new to D&D 5e (played a lot of 3.5 years ago). I'd be interested in learning 5e.
I am super new to D&D and would to give this a whirl
I want to thank everyone who has made an application, replied here and written me privately to express a great interest in this project. I am currently evaluating the responses all in all alongside my availability to determine when I can fit in all those who want to experience this great game! The response in both public and private form with this matter has been overwhelming in just the first 12 hours alone! Due to this and the fact I am currently only one person with a schedule and obligations of my own, I am looking to see if any of my fellow DMs or future-DMs would like to jump in on this, aiding with this way of giving back to the community and helping D&D grow! I have added another topic on the LFG listing for any DMs or people interested in giving DMing a try, and hope that you will help me help others get their first taste of Dungeons & Dragons!
Just started getting into dnd and would love to learn more
Thank you everyone for your time and interest! It's been a little hectic with so much of a response while still doing my own games, but I have also brought on some extra DM help to make sure this Prodigies project allow as many people as possible get a chance to play! I have begun sending out invites, and highly encourage anyone else who might want in to post their application also! Likewise for any DMs who might want to help us reach even more people and groups!
What started as a lone DM trying to give back to the community has become a venerable tsunami of help and support! A huge response of players joined this initiative and through both reaching out and being reach out to by those willing to help, we now have Over 4 DMs of varying experience, timezones, days available and playstyles all coming together with the simple goal of helping bring D&D to new and eager adventurers! With this many ways to easily take the plunge into trying this great game, there has never been a better time to get involved! We currently have games planned and taking place during both American and European time-zones on Mondays, Tuesdays, Weekends and more are being announced each day! There are several ways to going about getting a game to announcing your interest and time itself, to reacting and showing your desire to attend an announced game, to simply showing up and filling a spot that may be missing! I implore you, if you are new to D&D and still want to give it a try with some mini-adventures spanning 1-3 sessions, then get on board and plant your mark in our Far Lands Prodigies community!
Hello! We are two friends familiarized with some of the terms of D&D, having played some related videogames and reading here and there. However, we never got to actually play, and this post looks like the perfect opportunity to get started! We do have expierenced DMing and roleplaying in other role-play platforms, so hopefully the learning process will be easy and enjoyable.
Sounds like just the ticket! Please, by all means if yourself and your friend can leave your stamp in https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/9703006/want-to-join-in-start-here then we can look to get you involved as soon as we can! =)

I have the physical game just haven't had the chance to play it as covid happened, and need to get a group to play with so Tuesday would work for me.
We are still bustling with activity and have already had several sessions that have received enormously positive feedback from our new players! Some of our DMs are offering more and more sessions and even one on one times to help you get to grips with the basics of D&D, I would still implore anybody looking to take that first step to leave an application and help us help you!
We are bustling with activity and have formed a full on community with players arranging themselves into multiple games and even sorting out full on campaigns together! I write here because we have now reached over 40 players to 4 GMs on this initiative and I wish to once again issue a call to arms for any DMs or aspiring DMs who want to give it a shot to join in and experience the best and most exciting audience of all! New players! You will have support, you will have friends and other DMs to help and share ideas and assets with and most importantly I know you will have fun no matter your experience as long as you have a willing heart that wishes to learn! Please feel free to follow the link above and leave a mark in the DM thread on our LFG page, Thank you and keep rolling! o/
i have 2 games under my belt but im still a noob so im intrerested
Hello my name is Matthew and i live on the west coast and have just discovered this site and seeing everyone willing to help new players really brings me hope as i have been looking into DND for years and even put the effort into finding a DM and a group who wanted to try but life got in the way and ended up ending that before it started and i have followed the game through other and watched friends play as well as the first 40 episodes of the famous vox machina and would love to have the ability to personally learn and become a better and more knowledgeable player and movie from newb to novice. I would really appreciate the chance to join in the learning process and possibly find a group of people to start a game of our own and make friends along the way thank you again and i hope to hear from you soon :)
