Monk – Elf – Farren Nidanas - Bahrrenn Drakke Ranger – High Elf – Willie Belson –  Buddy-D Rogue – High Elf - Roqar -  Roxxifarius     Whom Could Not Make It Today!   Cleric – Hill Dwarf - Galdor Brawnanvil – No Attached Player Now   Sorcerer (Wild Magic) – Lizardman - When – No Attached Player Now (Played by Elizabeth)   Wizard – Human - Dolores – No Attached Player Now (Played by Connor)     New Player arriving for 01/23/21 Session:   Avery   Game Summary for Saturday (01/16/2021):   Opening Scene: Day 20 : June 23rd,  9:15 pm   The adventurers are inside of Cragmaw Castle, having just dealt with two gricks that jumped down on the party from up on a ledge which contained sculpted angelic figures in a room that looks like a shrine hall. After making sure the now sleeping grick, (from the sleep spell), stays asleep, the party moves back to the castle room where the straw pallets were, hoping they could at least get a short rest. They move the table and chairs from the bugbear King Grol’s room to block the west door into the room. Roughly a half hour after they moved to the room, When catches a glimpse of a hobgoblin peer around  the corner to the north, (he is watching just behind the curtain into the room from the north). Farren rolls a 25 for a perception check, he gets a bad feeling that they are about to be overwhelmed! The party members that started to doze off are awakened , Farren is snapped out of his trance and then they all brace for an attack.   Combat Round #01: Various goblins, hobgoblins move into position. Roqar, gets an attack of opportunity when Hobgoblin #01 tries to run through the curtain, however her dagger strike missed! Hobgoblin #01, also missed Roqar, with his long sword (one-handed use) due to shield. When, casts an Enhance Ability spell called Owl’s Wisdom which helps Willie have an advantage over the owlbear. Willie, moves to the door to the room where the owlbear is, in an attempt to talk to it using animal friendship skill and is successful in getting it to co-operate, after also offering some green tabbac to munch on.   Combat Round #02: Various Goblins and Hobgoblins, make moves to get closer to combat or simply wait. Roqar, missed hitting Hobgoblin #01 with the dagger! Various Goblins and Hobgoblins, make moves to get closer to combat or simply wait. Farren watches the door that is blocked with the table and chairs. A Goblin awaits a chance to move and attack. Willie, lets the owlbear through the once barred door, thanking him for helping. A Hobgoblin, tries to budge open the door. Dolores, casts the fire bolt hitting Hobgoblin #01 for 4 fire damage! A goblin  awaits a chance to attack. Hobgoblin #01, fumbles his weapon but keeps his grip on it. When, casts the Shocking Grasp cantrip, but it missed his target!   Combat Round #03: A goblin and hobgoblin await a chance to attack. Roqar, missed Hobgoblin #01, with her dagger! More Goblins and the owlbear either move or await a chance to attack. Farren, moves the table and chairs away from the door to let the owlbear get through. Willie, fires an arrow with the long bow at Hobgoblin #02 but missed! When, Casts the Shocking grasp cantrip at a Hobgoblin #02 hitting for 1 lightning damage! Owlbear gets an opportunity attack on Hobgoblin #02, biting with it’s beak for 15 piercing damage, defeating him! A goblin awaits his chance to attack the party. Dolores, casts the Fire Bolt spell at Hobgoblin #01 but missed! A goblin and hobgoblin, either await a chance to more and or strike. Hobgoblin #01, hits Roqar for 13 slashing damage with his long sword! When, casts the Shocking Grasp spell but it missed the hobgoblin!   Combat Round #04: A goblin and hobgoblin await a chance to attack. Roqar, missed Hobgoblin #01 with her dagger! More Goblins either move or await a chance to attack. Owlbear, bites Goblin #01 with his beak for 10 piercing damage, defeating it! Farren missed Hobgoblin #01 with his short sword! A goblin awaits his chance to attack the party. Willie, fires an arrow, but it hits When for 7 piercing damage instead of Hobgoblin #01! Dolores, awaits for a chance to strike, after contemplating moving to the room where the owlbear was and blocking the door with the table and chairs but passes on the idea since the Cragmaws would just rebar the other side. A goblin and hobgoblin, either await a chance to more and or strike. Hobgoblin #01, missed Roqar with his long sword! When, Casts the Shocking Grasp cantrip, hitting for 1 lightning damage on a Hobgoblin!   Combat Round #05: A goblin and hobgoblin await a chance to attack. Roqar, missed Hobgoblin #01 with her dagger! A goblin awaits for a chance to strike. Goblin, strikes at the Owlbear with a scimitar but missed! More Goblins either move or await a chance to attack. Owlbear, bites Goblin #03 with it’s beak, for 8 piercing damage, defeating him! Farren, missed Hobgoblin #01 with his short sword and spends a Ki point to uses his Flurry of Blows move to make 2 unarmed strikes. The first one hits Hobgoblin #01 for 9 bludgeoning damage, defeating him!

A goblin awaits his chance to attack the party. Willie, missed Goblin #05 with the magical Talon long sword! Goblin, hits the Owlbear for 12 piercing damage with an arrow from his short bow! The owlbear lets out a meancing roar! Dolores, casts the Toll the Dead cantrip on a goblin, but he makes his wisdom save, so no effect! Goblin, missed Willie with his scimitar! Two hobgoblins await a chance to attack. When, stays put for now.   Combat Round #06: A goblin and hobgoblin await a chance to attack. Roqar, strikes Goblin #05 for 4 piercing + 3 sneak attack damage with the short sword, defeating him! A goblin awaits a chance to attack. Goblin, missed Willie with his scimitar! Two Goblins await a chance to attack! Owlbear, missed biting Goblin #04! Farren swaps places with Roqar. Goblin awaits a chance to attack. Willie, missed Goblin #06 with the Talon long sword! Goblin missed the Owlbear with his scimitar! Dolores, casts the Toll the dead spell upon a goblin, who fails his wisdom save for 3 necrotic damage! A goblin and hobgoblin await a chance for combat. When, looks to get the Owlbear’s attention to have it move north, when it’s the owlbear’s turn he will do so.   Combat Round #07: A goblin and hobgoblin await a chance to attack. Roqar, stays put. Goblin, missed Willie with his scimitar! Two goblins await a chance to attack. Owlbear, bites Goblin #04 with it’s beak for 12 piercing damage, defeating it! Farren, missed Goblin #06 with his short sword! Goblin awaits a chance to strike. Willie, hits Goblin #06 for 4 slashing damage with the Talon long sword! Dolores, casts the Toll the Dead cantrip, but the goblin makes his wisdom save, so no effect! A goblin and hobgoblin await a chance for combat. When, continues to encourage the owlbear to head north.   Combat Round #08: A goblin and hobgoblin await a chance to attack. Roqar, stays put, says, “Go that way!!”, pointing north, Dolores says, “When?! Wait up…!” Goblin, hits Willie for 7 slashing damage with the scimitar! Two Goblins await a chance to strike. Owlbear, missed Lhupo the goblin priest, he lets out a scream realizing the owlbear is attacking! Farren, strikes Goblin #06 for 11 piercing damage with the short sword, defeating him! Then he uses a Ki point to do a dodge move called Patient defense. Wilie, fires an arrow with the long bow but missed Goblin #04! Dolores, holds back casting a Toll the Dead cantrip due to Farren being in the way. Goblin, slashes Willie for 6 damage with the scimitar, dropping Willie! Hobgoblin #01 –CC12, hits Willie for 3 slashing damage with his long sword! Dolores screams, “Willie! No!” When, casts the green flame blade spell on his teeth and bites Goblin #01 for  5 piercing damage and green fire leaps from that goblin to another dealing 3 fire damage to another goblin!   Combat Round #09: Goblin hits someone with his scimitar for 4 slashing damage! Hobgoblin, strikes Willie for 8 slashing damage with the long sword, assuring that he is dead! Roqar stays put. Goblin stays put. Goblin, slashes When for  damage with the scimitar! Owlbear, bites  Lhupo the goblin for 6 damage with his beak! Farren, cuts Hobgoblin #03 for  9 damage with the short sword! Goblin waits for a chance to attack. Dolores, moves to go back up Farren. Goblin awaits for a chance to strike. Hobgoblin #01 –CC12 missed Farren with his long sword! When bites Goblin #01 –CC09 for 7 piercing damage, defeating him, green flames leap out but there is no target!  Lhupo, hits the owlbear for 4 slashing damage with is scimitar!   Combat Round #10: Goblin awaits for a chance to strike. Hobgoblin #01 –CC12 missed Farren with his long sword! Roqar is watching the passage for more trouble. Goblin awaits for a chance to strike. Goblin #02, missed When with his scimitar! Owlbear, missed Lhupo the goblin priest with it’s beak! Farren, missed Hobgoblin #03 with his short sword! Goblin awaits for a chance to strike. Dolores, moves curtain out of the way to get a better view of enemies, Farren is fighting. Goblin awaits for a chance to strike. Hobgoblin #01 –CC12, missed Farren with his long sword! Goblin, hits When for 4 slashing damage with the scimitar! Owlbear, bites Lhupo the goblin priest for  9 piercing damage with his beak, defeating him! Farren, cuts down Hobgoblin #03 –CC06 for 9 damage with his short sword, defeating him, then does his bonus attack dodge move, Patient Defense. Goblin, missed Farren with his scimitar! Dolores, casts the Toll the Dead cantrip dealing 6 damage to Hobgoblin #01 –CC12! Goblin and Hobgoblin await a chance to strike. When, tries to bite an opponent but missed!   Combat Round #12: Hobgoblin #01 –CC12, strikes Farren for 8 slashing damage with his long sword! Rogar, still watches the passage. Goblin awaits a chance to strike. Goblin #02 –CC09, runs north out of the castle! Only to get hit with a Guiding Bolt from Galdor Brawnanvil for 18 damage, defeating Goblin #02 –CC09! Owlbear, missed biting Goblin #07 –CC07 with it’s beak! Farren, hits Hobgoblin #04 for 9 piercing damage with the short sword, defeating him! Yegg the Goblin, missed Farren with his scimitar! Dolores says, “Farren, be ready to pull back, I’m going to see if I can put them to sleep, but I need you out of the way.” Goblin, hits the Owlbear for 8 slashing damage with the scimitar! When moves and says, “So how is this side of the battlefront faring?” Dolores says, “We’ll live. Most of us anyways…”, looked down a bit torn over Willie’s death somewhat.   Combat Round #13: Roqar says, “Still here, Farren is holding them back.” Farren says, “Holding up nicely. Still thought that Willie’s death could be avoided but…” Owlbear, bites Goblin #07 –CC07 for 20 piercing damage with his beak, defeating him! Farren, missed Yegg the goblin with his short sword but then pounds him for 8 damage with a fist (unarmed strike) attack! Yegg the goblin, slashed Farren for 7 damage with the scimitar! Dolores, casts the Sleep spell, putting to sleep 19 hit points worth of creatures if they don’t save and Yegg the goblin is put to sleep! Farren is immune to the spell! End of combat! Roqar says, “We Lived to see another day.” Dolores, Looked like she was about to throw up for a moment or two, but somehow caught herself, pushing down her emotions quickly before they could get to her.   Roqar, checks over Willie’s body, takes his green tobacco out of a pocket. Dolores says, “ What do we do now? Starting to have second thoughts about going any further." When says, “ "I saw a blast of lightening that suggests at least one of our lookouts outside is alive. Perhaps we should walk out and make sure they all are?" Dolores says, “… Yeah. That sounds good. Let’s go, When.” Farren, looks to take anything useful from the hobs and gobs but there really is nothing other than, their armor, shields, scimitars, longswords, short bows and quivers of arrows. Roqar says, “ We escort our Dwarf Merchant to the city so he can be with his family, can you handle that, Dol?”   Dolores says, “Gladly. Anything to get out of this horrible, wretched place."   Farren heals up the Owlbear with herbs, restoring 10 hit points.   Dolores, Steps out into the open air, glancing over at Galdor for a moment before just looking up at the sky, a melancholic expression on her face. Says, “I am a fool, A fool to think I was ready for this.”   Roqar says, “We all did some ass kicking, just got kicked pretty bad as well"   Dolores says, “ We survived, but we got beaten, is more accurate."   At this point the conversation goes on with Dolores saying that she is done with adventuring and will retire from it once they return to Phandalin, getting Gundar Rockseller back into town.   Roqar tells Dolores that maybe she can take care of Roqar’s house while she is away.   Dolores, likes the idea and agrees to it.   Galdor proceeds to cast Cure Wounds spells , fully healing Dolores and healing 8 back to Roqar. When gets 8 hit points restored.   The Owlbear heads off back into the Neverwinter woods, grateful for being freed and healed up a bit, but not before members of the party give it a petting and saying goodbye.   Dolores goes back to check on Yegg the sleeping goblin, Roqar is seen blowing smoke at him.   Farren goes to have a better look at the room that the owlbear was barred in.   The upper floors of this tower have collapsed to create a hollow silo at least thirty feet high, and the upper reaches of the room are lost in shadows. Dust, rubble, and broken glass cover the floor, and old worktables and bookshelves lie strewn to the south. There is a ledge around the room that is what is in shadows. Farren, discerns from a perception check that the room was once a library and workshop, but sees nothing worth taking of what little is left. Dolores, waits outside with Sildar, whom is very happy to see Gundar, his business partner and friend is still alive, Riedoth the druid, and Gundar.
