Token Transparency Issue

January 20 (4 years ago)

Hi,

I've been DMing LMoP and recently (last 3-4 weeks) have noticed a transparency/brightness issue with some of my player's tokens. They appear to be dimmer than before, but it has only affected ones that I've had to re-upload for various reasons. I'm not entirely sure what's causing it but it seems to be related to the dynamic lighting settings. For example, if I upload a token to one of my maps without explorer mode enabled, all tokens are the same brightness. If I turn explorer mode on, initially the tokens are fine but the moment I move a token one space, the map updates and 3 of my 5 tokens become dim. At first I thought it might be due to tint colour from either night vision or some other map feature but I've checked and I'm fairly sure everything is set to transparent and it still happens.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I'm just getting started with Roll20, same adventure, and seeing the same thing for ALL tokens as soon as I turn explorer mode on.

I think I managed to fix this in my session last night. It appears that all tokens need to have vision turned on and also have GM control (as well as player control for PC tokens). If neither of these conditions are satisfied whilst explorer mode is enabled they become slightly transparent.

This explained why it was only affecting some of my player's tokens: all had vision turned on but for some reason 2 of them had control from me and the players and the other 3 did not.

This also affects things besides tokens... I play Savage Worlds, and cards are also transparent when dealt into the play space.
