Light-types and Racial Viewing Distance.

Something I'd love to see in the future of Roll20 is a mechanic for different types of light to be added to the game based around whatever token you have as the source. Sunlight, torch-light, light from a hooded lantern, the glow of a phosphorescent mushroom, etc each have different qualities. Also, it would be nice to have some kind of vision stat that was reactive to these qualities (such as low-light vision or darkvision). I'm sure you guys are working on it.

It is already being tested on the Dev server. :) The new change incorporates two levels of lighting. If you had a torch with a light radius of 20' and a dim light radius of 40' you would set it to 40/20. Everything from 20 to 40 will be dimmer.  - Gauss

That is awesome to hear! Great job on this App, guys. The subscription is totally worth it, unlike some systems/games.

It would still require two light sources to represent the difference between normal illumination and low-light vision but that is a simple matter of grouping another object set to the player who has low-light vision.  - Gauss
Hmmm, I just use the "Emits Light" on the tokens and adjust the distance and who can see it accordingly, but it would be nice to have an on & off switch instead of having to retype the numbers and etc.
+1 on the upcoming feature then! :)

Excellent!
