Grid Disappears when token is in object layer?

I know I'm probably being stupid but I can't figure out for the life of me, how to solve this. In the image at the top, the grid shows as normal, when there is no token near it on the object layer. However when I bring the token to the object layer (image below), the grid disappears in the area around the token? I think it's got to do with Dynamic Lighting, but I can't figure out how to fix this, as I want the grid to always be there no matter what. Any help is much appreciated! Edit: Okay I figured out that it has to do with Darkvision. When I remove Darkvision from the token, the grid reappears. Still I cannot figure out why or how to stop it from making the grid disappear.

It looks like you didn't move the token from the GM layer to the object layer, but rather moved the map from the map layer to the object layer.
