Tottaly new to D&D but serious!

I have always wanted to play D&D but many factors have not allowed me to nerd out and discover the beauty of this game. This is where i feel i can get a honest and serious start. Can somebody please direct me on where i can read up on things i should know before i begin and also help me find a game or create one with me noted. Somewhere i wont be judged and maybe geared towards helping me get a grasp on how this all works. I am fine with new players! Depends on your age though, sometimes stuff can get a lil messy... I sometimes make Troll campaigns where you start at level one and then make them fight an ancient dragon. Anywho age: 18+
