[LFP][THU][D&D 5e] Long-running group looking for one new companion

Hello dear people! I'm the storyteller for a group that is looking to add an extra member to the roster. We currently have five people, but two are on hiatus (due to a baby and work, respectively). As it stands, we've been together for about a year and two months, and would love to keep going for plenty more time to come. Hopefully, that will be with one of you! Our game time is Thursdays, 8pm GMT (that is, 3pm EST / noon PST). Between sessions, which are normally weekly, we maintain a lively Discord server, with text RP between characters (mostly of the slice-of-life variety), as well as other (not always game related) tidbits that maintain the spirit of the group. By and large, we are an older group, ranging from the late 20s to the late 40s.We have a nice balance in personalities, but with the two people on break both male, we're a bit female-dominated right now, and would prefer to recruit someone who identifies and expresses male. We would also prefer someone at least aged 25, and with a sufficiently stable life that there is no expectation of changing job schedules or the like. It's probably worth noting that this is a very LGBT+-friendly group, and both among the players and characters, several are part of the spectrum. As for myself, I am non-binary, and as the resident storyteller I attempt to make room for interactions that give people the chance to express any such elements of their identity. Mind, the world (which is the Forgotten Realms) is still quite familiar, but I feel that there's room in the margin to affirm what is often neglected. As for the campaign: we're playing in the Forgotten Realms (as mentioned), in the late 13th century, Dale Reckoning. Although we use the 5th edition of D&D, that is about two centuries before the default 5th edition timeline. In fact, it is still before the Time of Trouble, so there's a few changes to take into account, and not all classes, races or deities commonly expected may be available. The story itself is of my own imagination, and although I base myself heavily on existing (written) materials of the TSR days, there's ample to be discovered and possibly changed in the history as we know it.  It is set in (and around) the nation of Impiltur, which is a Lawful and usually Good leaning country on the north coast of the Sea of Fallen Stars, quite a ways east of the perhaps more familiar Heartlands, and far away from the Sword Coast. Impiltur is heavily human-dominated, with varied supernatural forces active in the background. Since the overarcing story is predominantly investigative in nature (with lots of RP, often of a somewhat emotional nature, and the occasional fight where I do my best to challenge everyone involved), it generally helps to fit in with the community. Characters who are comfortable engaging in social enterprise and sleuthing probably are the best match, but I'll look whether you, as a player, fit the group first and foremost. By and large, it would help if you're interested in "game lore", since there's a lot to be discovered, and if discovering the who, why and wherefore does not suit you, it's quite possible this is not the campaign for you. It would not surprise me at all, if we have rolled for History or Insight more often than for Initiative, if that gives you an idea of our play-style. There is a log of most game sessions (I believe we're at session 43 this week), and although this is possibly a lot of reading, you could use it to catch up with the campaign events, once it's been decided you are a good fit. Likewise, I would be happy to help you settle in, and develop a character background and ties that will allow you to be part of the story. The current characters are level 7, and unless things change dramatically, I expect that we'd start new people at that level, as well. Note, that I have not mentioned what characters we currently have in the group. I have no interest at all in what you want to play yet, at this point in time. Instead, I'd like to get to know you well enough to discovered whether you are a good fit, and to go from there. Once I am confident, over text conversations, we'll have a voice interview, and then I'll introduce you to the rest of the group, to see how things click. It's very much not a first-past-the-post situation, and if it takes an extra week to find the right person, so be it. We're in this for the long run, and I am looking for people who likewise are. Well, that was a lot of typing. I hope to hear back from you. Let me know what appealed, what you are curious after, and what concerns you. I'll do my best to answer, but if too many replies hit my mail, I may need to prioritise the more promising responses. I'll do my best to give some sort of feedback to anyone that is sincere and potentially a match, however. Regards, Pat
I want to join but I’m 19 so I don’t know if that’s an issue or not, it’s fine if it is
Hi, im really intrested in joining you guys, settings sounds really good, im 28 y/o, and relatively new to the game, playing for about a year now, studied a lot so know the mechanics but still working on the RP part. Btw already have an idea for a character i would like to play.
Hi there, I'm a forever DM in dire need of some gaming where I don't have to create an entire world. I'd love to sit down and flesh out a nice character within the constraints of someone else's world, so I can learn from you and improve my own game. I am very interested in learning the lore of your games, so even if I don't get in I'd love to read the session logs for my own perusal! I'm Ray, 22, and from the wild and colorful land of India. I identify as male and use the pronouns he/him. I've been a full-time paid DM for over 8 years on Roll20 and have games everyday except for Monday and Thursday, which makes this group perfect for me! In my eight years or so playing D&D, I have gotten the chance to play rather than DM only a handful of times, so I'm very much looking forward to applying to this game. If you need anything more and if you want to talk more, I'm always around at OriginalUsername#4148 and would love to chat!  I have Roleplay experience, both in text and in voice, and own a decent mic and webcam. I have a bit of an accent, but we can just say my character speaks with an Indian lilt to his voice. I have been told my accent isn't that bad and my words are perfectly legible and understandable, and I'd like to believe I have a solid grasp of the language. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for your well-spoken reply. Since you charge others to join your own games, however, I would have to charge you to join mine, even when I let others play for free - that seems only reasonable. Of course, it's not fair , so I'll have to pass on your application. Good luck with being a paid GM and finding games to play in.
I wouldn't mind supporting a fellow GM and joining! Would love to speak specifics on Discord at OriginalUsername#4148!
Thank you, everyone, for your interest. We're currently in the final stages of the interview process, and are confident that on our short-list, we'll find what we are looking for. We hope you'll find the games you are looking for. I know that both sufficient games and storytellers with the time and energy to cater to the interest out there are too sparse, but regrettably, we're not cloneable, and at the end of the day, the solution is for a few players to try their own hand at it. Good luck!
