Today! Everyone was in

question their captured goblin named Yegg, before exploring the western half of
the cragmaw’s old ruined castle. Yegg
simply tells them there is just more junk in the castle when asked what was in
the rest of it. He didn’t know what King Grol and Vyerith (actually a
doppelganger), were up to, just that Vyerith worked for the Black Spider. Yegg
never met the Black Spider personally, but King Grol worked for him doing his
bidding. Yegg’s
job was to simply keep raiding along the High Road and Triboar Trail and chase
folks out of Neverwinter Woods. After
the questioning, Yegg, whom was tied up and now gagged as well, was carried by
Roqar, so he won’t try to run away. The
adventurers return to the darkened room with the ledge of angelic statues
around it. Roqar sets Yegg down to light
the brazier full of unused coal, to shed some lighting. Roqar
moves to the right side curtain in the north wall, it looks normal enough but
she searches for a trap around it anyways and did not find one. When was
searching for one as well and did not find one. Pulling
the curtain aside revealed: This
chamber occupies the northern tower of the castle. A
stone altar stands in the middle of the room, covered with bloodstained black
cloth. Golden ritual implements—a chalice, a knife, and a censer—are carefully
arranged on top of the altar. Two archways to the south are covered with heavy
curtains. Galdor,
checks for any religious symbols and sees that on the bloodstained cloth you
recognize that some of the images are those of the ones seen on the ledges in
the room to the south the chalice, knife and censer also seem to match the
decor here and may be of some worth. Galdor
takes the dagger then walks away, Roqar then, being careful, takes the chalice
and censur. The
single door in the chapel’s west wall is then checked for a trap by When and
none was found. Inside
is a lone goblin in a defensive poster and the following: Old
casks of salted meat and sacks of rotting grain fill this storage area. Among
the supplies, you see a bloody suit of chain mail, a heavy crossbow, and an
unsheathed longsword with the emblem of Neverwinter worked into its hilt. Roqar
says, “Surrender and live or die fighting?” Goblin
says, “Eh, don’t have much choice anyways, as the other option is being food
for the Black Spider’s pets. So bring it on, if you will!” Roqar
says, “What kind of pets?”, Goblin says, “Rumor has it they are spiders.” Roqar
says, “So either we kill you or the Black Spider does?”, Goblin says, “Yea,
seems about right. Lovely is it not?” Roqar
says, “I’m tempted to let you live, for a while.”, Goblin says, “How generous
of you to be so kind lady.” Roqar
says, “Not this one though.”, referring to Yegg. Goblin looks at Yegg. Roqar
says, “Will you let us pass by?”. When says, “Can you escape from the Black
Spider, if you go far away? We don’t really car abou killing you for you get
away from the village. Roqar
says, Yea, he helped kill a friend of ours, you didn’t, so…” Goblin
says, “So yea, I see Yegg is all tied up at the moment. I doubt even the
Anchorites (of Talos) would like it if we simply up and ran off.”, “Look, I
don’t like the idea of Maglubiyeta nd Talos, wrath also upon us, if we do not
fight here.” Roqar
says, “What do you say When (the lizardman’s name)? Fight him anyways, just to
get by him?” When
says, “Sounds like he needs to earn an honorable death.” It
is decided to just slam the door shut and go around. By going through the west
door in the room full of angelic statues, where Roqar looks for a trap around
the door and did not find one. Opening
the door revealed 3 goblins at least 10 ft away from it standing near the front
entrance. The corridor is
cluttered with dusty rubble and fallen plaster from a partial collapse of the
ceiling overhead. One of the goblins stands outside just past the sundered
doors which lay on the ground The
double door is closed shut on them. And the adventurers decide their next move
which is to kill Yegg the goblin then leave Cragmaw castle the way they came
in. They head for Phandalin just 30 miles south. [Connor
was asking if the castle was cleared enough that the forest is less dangerous,
for the goblins not to be a threat.] I
can’t tell you since the party opted not to engage the remainder and left. What
is possible is that they simply left to go elsewhere, will simply turn up as
wandering monsters or will hook up with other factions in the Neverwinter woods
since going to where the Black Spider is, would be a death sentence. The
adventurers reach Phandalin without incident. Settling in at the Stonehill Inn,
some of the adventurers depart for other things. Dolores for example, will stay
in town to study her magics while watching over Roqar’s house. When the wizard,
will stay to also study his magics. After
getting well rested and recovering all spells the party heads for Wave Echo
Cave, the location of the Lost Mines of Phandelver, which is 12.5 miles east of
Phandalin at the start of part of a string of the Sword Mountains. Gnomengarde,
where the inventive gnomes live is just 10 miles south east in another section of the Sword Mountains. Just
a couple miles out from the mine, a lone Ogre is encountered! Marcuria
says, “Eyes forward everyone. Trouble. I’ll take point, the rest of you be
ready.” Ogre
says, “Well now, what have we here? Where do you folks think you are going?” Marcuria
says, “We’re heading for the mines. That a problem, ogre?” Ogre
says, “Figures with a dwarf with you, you would be digging holes in the ground
or looking for them.” Macuria
says, “What can I say? It’s a noble
pastime.” Ogre
says, “Say you there dwarf, the Black Spider could use your skills. Would you
like to help him with something?” Gundren
says, “Eh, no thanks. I have had enough of dealing with anyone associated with
this Black Spider of yours. The mine belongs to the dwarves.” Roqar
says, “Maybe we should try to meet the Black Spider.” Marcuria
says, “ I don't trust this, Roqar. Sounds like trickery to me. I've
heard stories of the Black Spider. They're either not real at all, or they're
not exactly the kind of person you should get caught up with." Roqar shrugs, “Heard of them not long ago, seems pretty wide
spread to me.” Ogre says, “Well now, will you help the Black Spider or am I
going to have to clobber you all?" Roqar says, “Bare with me for a bit? Lets offer to help him.” Marcuria says, “Telling you right now, Roqar, this is a
trick.", reluctantly faces the Ogre. Roqar says, “In that case, guess its clobbering time.” Dia says, “What does the Black Spider want help with?" Marcuria says, “...But fine. What KIND of help are we talking
about here?" Ogre says, “He needs help looking for something, is all I know.”
Marcuria says, “…And this Black Spider. Where is he?”
