The Miller's daughter was abruptly returned to the town of Hope within the claws of a dragon, the very same one likely now on the hit list of every adventurer in Hope. Dead on arrival, those who cared for her Father's plight brought her to Ulman Dark, beseeching the Wizard to help bring her back. Ulman has agreed, on the condition that six adventurers willingly sign up to a binding Geas contract, to gather three books from a dungeon three to four days west of the Mouth of Doom. Lucious, Dhampyr, hexblade warlock, level 2 wishes to join
So after properly reading the date, I realised that I can sign up. As long as this mission is after 26th Highsun (in game calender) I'll sign up my level 3 human thief rogue Teres.
Seonbi would go along on this quest.
Borin - Lvl 2 Hill Dwarf Life Domain Cleric will replace Alexandria on this (trying not to screw XP for the party... although we seem to be seriously short of melee/frontline?)
Henry (Lucious) has had to drop out of this one.
Multiple Nerdgasms said: Henry (Lucious) has had to drop out of this one. We're going to be one short unless Hogg is ready by then.
I am in. Eunice Dusterbossom will join this noble quest

Barbarian. She is a former nanny to a barbarian clan who has decided to strike out on her own
What a trip this has been. We left on the 29th Highsun, but the last few days have been a dizzying blur. I think this hideous fog is finally taking its toll on my faculties. I recall encountering some kind of hideous undead that were able to spew vines from their mouths in order to bolster themselves, and the following day we ran across a Grung village. We attempted to sneak through, only for some of us to alert the inhabitants of our presence. Strangely, they didn't fill us full of arrows at first sight; a welcome change to the behaviours of the people of this accursed marshland. I was able to bridge a connection to the troupe leader's mind and explain our presence, and we were giving the chance to leave peacefully, which we took gladly. The team is that of myself, Gravedigger the Firbolg, a wizard of sorts, Aerfrey, a Druid of the elven kind, Seonbi, a rather sweet and knowledgeable Goblin Wizard, Borin the Dwarf, weilder of a fine greataxe, and Eunice, an ex-nanny of Barbarians, and she carries their lifestyle with the pan she wields as if it were a weapon. We also ran across some giant toads, whom I was able to steal their meal from, a poor man by the name of Eric, a scout sent out by Brad the Brash. I will have to inform him upon our return to Hope. ~~~~~ We're back in Hope. The trip down through the dungeon was less than we'd hoped. After going down into the dark, we discovered the place to have been desecrated by tomb robbers, cultists or simply barbarians with their own superstitious beliefs. It was nothing short of a disaster, with Borin having been blinded on the way here by the waters of a rapid river we were forced to cross via the water itself. I loathe swimming, and the smell clings to me even now. Eunice bumbled around the place, setting off every trap there was to find, though I don't hold it against her too much, she had proven herself a useful ally, if a little too much like the old nannies back home. We ran afoul of more undead, defying my mental abilities and resigning me to medic duty. After nearly getting thrashed, we returned home, more or less empty-handed, and certainly without the books we set out to find. I shall have to organise a return trip soon.
Borin's Thoughts Monsters… Ah dinnae ken who gave this Seth the notion that he can play god with people’s lives but he has forged ahead with getting this young woman “reborn” withoot even getting’ consent from her father… the unnatural result must surely be the gods vengeance for his arrogance! That said, he has at least put together a team to repay Ulman Dark for his work. Given ma unease at the morals at play, ah have nae choice but ta escort him. It seems the druid Aerfrey might share some concerns too. Bless that lassie, Ah suspect Ah’ll lean on her ‘fore this is over. The formidable lady, Eunice , reminds me of tha nurse maidens of ma home, she looks like she’d brain a few with tha pan she carries! The morbid Gravedigger ’s fascination with the dead will hopefully help us if we encounter any filth not thar! Ah cannae read the wee lad Seonbi , Ah only hope he lasts longer than poor Plygonk last time oot. He seems to be a thinker at least, so that’ll surely help! Zombies attacked in tha night! What a woman Miss Eunice is, striding oot and holding off many of them! Not ta be ootdone, Aerfrey handled our left flank almost singlehandedly! Gravedigger , Seth , Seonbi , and Ah managed to support them in taking doon tha ones they held up. We found a corpse. Normally not something overly noteworthy but Seth seemed keen to defile it for some reason… he claims it isnae necromancy but he then removed tha heed and took it behind a tree? Ah feel sick just thinkin’ about what went on but Eunice , Aerfrey , and I managed to persuade him to give up the heed eventually and we buried it so it might hopefully rest! We spotted ah small Grung village. they looked threatening (and a bit cute… ah cannae lie about that!) but Seth was able to communicate with their leader and they didnae attack us. Much o tha next few hoors are fuzzy. Tryin’ ta swim across a foul river left me blind.. somethin’ corrupts the very water. Miss Eunice took to leading me so Ah didnae stumble. Bless her heart! It sounds like there’s some sorta shrine to Lathander but Ah couldnae see to confirm. Somehow Ah managed to fall doon several pits despite being led by Miss Eunice - mebbe she’s nae good for seeing in tha dark? There was a strange possible trap that Seth wanted me to touch first... Ah’m sure it’s just part of his analysis and not anything more sinister but in the end, he got stuck behind unable tae follow the rest of us for some reason… Aerfrey found a scroll and cured ma blindness - Lathander bless that lassie! We heard many zombies but the majority fled from the might o’Lathander. Seonbi and Eunice helped mop up tha rest. We’re heading home (Ah should’ve taken anotha wee look at that room first!) but Seth says he’ll be heading back oot soon… we’ll need to be quick, that geas isnae far off…
People are strange I joined this mission in the hope of tapering these books before Ullman Dark can get his filthy necromancer hands on them. It seems I have also been joined in the quest by two other necromancer types, Seth and Gravedigger - although Seth claims he is a man of science.  The days travel south was uneventful - camping outside the Mouth of Doom. That evening we were attacked by ghouls, except they looked to be partially made of plants - what abominations of nature. We dispatched of the foul things and rested for the evening. I had the utmost pleasure in speaking with Seonbi , a follow lover of the natural world and dedicated vegan. It is so nice to meet a like minded person, so much so I may have revealed too much about my peoples culture and my gift from the guardian tree.  The next day we tried to skirt around a village of Grungs - possibly the cutest creatures on this plane. Sadly Eunice dropped her pan and alerted the Grungs to our presence. Thankfully Seth was able to communicate with them and we retreated safely. We continued North North East and got a little lost, encountered a poor soul that met his end by some giant toads. Dealing with the toads was simple. Seth said he could find out who the dead man was, if only he had his head and went behind a tree. He came back telling us that the man was called Eric, who working for Brand the Brash. Hmmm, I am very suspicious of this method of obtaining information. We made it to a river by that evening.  Thankfully we all made it alive through the filthy river. Unfortunately Borin was blinded by the dirty water, we cleaned his eyes, but to no avail. Our destination was an ominous place, surrounded by tombstones - which Gravedigger noticed had unturned earth around a few. Delving deep into the filthy catacombs below we came into a room with two doors labelled "healing and recovery' and 'forbidden'. Naturally, going into the room label healing we found the room was covered by desecrated statues with each statue having their left hand blacked out. From the descriptions given to Borin , he able to determine that this place was dedicated to the god Pelor. The room was a dead end, no where else to go but the place marked as forbidden.  Heading down the western corridor Eunice and Borin fell into a trap! I was able to search the rest of the corridor as a rat and came across another Pelor stature with its hand outstretched. It seemed benign so I transformed back into my true form and touched the hand....and poof! I was transported to another room. Inside the room was a skeleton. Upon closer inspection the bones were pot marks, I can only assume this poor person died a most horrible and painful death. The bones also held a scroll of lesser restoration - just want Borin needs! Unsure that I I could return the same way I called for help with the telepathic link Seth made. Everyone made it through except for Seth. Later I was told Eunice has difficulty coming through too without the aid of Borin . Does the statue's only allow of magical users to go through? Or perhaps only good folk to pass though?  Seth alerted us to some undead coming his way outside. Luckily we were all able to return to where we cam and help him out. It seems we need to return to hope and recover from this expedition. Back we must return and find these books as soon as we can, otherwise we are going to face the wrath of Ullman Dark's Geas spell upon us all.
