Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Module Map

Hi, just an individual who runs AD&D modules with some friends for fun through Roll20, I was curious if people have considered making maps for these modules similar to the “Caverns of Entropy” on the marketplace which is loosely based off of the Caves of Chaos in the Module “The Keep on the Borderlands”. I wanted to reach out and see if other people were of like mind and wanted to see more of the modules have maps, and if so I would probably look into making them for the marketplace, but I guess I wanted to know how some of the restrictions for that information goes, and how letting others have access to it through the marketplace would go. I understand it is another individuals design and I’m not trying to take credit for it, I just want to figure out how the person who made the Caverns of Entropy might have dodged any copyright claims in all respects to the work of the modules. I used the Caverns of Entropy and am using it now and very much enjoy it, I just want to make sure as I progress in my adventure with my party I have the maps available for later modules, and if I can benefit the community of Roll20 at the same time, that would be awesome! Thank you and let me know if you have any thoughts.

Possibly interested, in your Hommage / Tribute to some dungeons that inspired us. Remember that some of the classics have been re-made for 5E so people already have the option of buying/accessing maps for ones like White Plume Mountain and Hidden Shrine (those are in 5e's Tales of the Yawning Portal). What's 1 or 2 of your favorite AD&D modules that you'd love to see a modern, VTT-optimized, full color furnished map for? I think The Lost City (B4) might be a good one, as town/area maps like that are somewhat rare.

Hi James, I am the creator of the Caverns of Entropy map. and glad you are enjoying them. There isn't any copyright issues, because those image are created by me and wholly mine. I didn't use any images from anywhere else. I was careful not to use any copyrighted terms in the labeling and advertising of these maps. Same with my version of the R****loft maps (see what I did there). I have also looked at doing some of the other maps, but many of the ones I would have done are already available (Hidden Shrine, Against the Giants, Tomb of Horrors). <shameless plug> For those looking for these maps you can find them here... https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/publisher/40/keith-reinig </shameless plug>
Hmmm, very interesting.
I also reached out to the Roll20 team and got a couple answers regarding all of this, My initial interest in this was because I had ran the Caverns of entropy ;) and was looking into resources similar to that of "The Secret of Bone Hill" because it is very much that of a dungeon crawl at a good chunk. Ultimately it seemed if I was interested in doing stuff similar I would have to create the designs from scratch using a software that isnt a map making software like Inkarnate or dungeondraft, pretty much original work (Which makes sense) I guess for my own clarity and interest to the creator of the caverns of Entropy what software do you use for design (Im probably not anywhere near as handy at using the sources, I just want to know for more educational purposes at this point.

I do all of my maps in Gimp. If you are looking for some techniques I can't recommend the cartographer's guild enough.

Ahhh I really want to play Castle Amber! Anyone running Patrick Von Raven's Castle A maps, using any old-school editions?
