Hello Darren. The new character sheet has few problems.
1. There are mirrored gears tabs in the gear tab.
2. Not having the spell description on cast anymore is a bit annoying. We really enjoyed the function.
3. I see it defaults to the Combat tab now. Is it possible to make it default to the character stats like the original?
4. The added pools are great! Could you please make it so you can link the new pool to the tokens like it's already working for combat pool, karma pool etc?
Thank you!
I will get on that ASAP. Sorry if it ruined your gaming, I'm learning as I go.
Update: have fixed Gear tabs (I forget to have seperate attributes)
Have hopefully fixed the Pools problem (again forget to seperate attributes for each pool)
Added the Description back, it's a small box, but hopefully will suffice for now.
Unsure how to fix the default tab but will keep at it.
Hopefully this will fix it.
Will push these changes ASAP.
Hi there Darren H., it was cool to revamp the 2nd edition sheet but i miss the possibility to add as many new dice pools as i wish to the character sheet, like Astral pool for example.
It would also be a cool addition to implement focus in the spell tab to customise spell casting.
And, if i may add, it would also be a cool addition to the spell tab a square with the rank of initiation.
Anyway, it's a very nice job you did with the character sheet and i'm looking forward to the next updates :)
Thank you.
Added Astral Pool to the next update (I knew I forgot something) I will try to add the ability to add new pools, will try to find a why to do repeating fields horizontally if you can.
In what way do you mean to customize spellcasting, do you mean a place to just have a list of your foci?
Plus, do you want a box just to show Initiation level?
Thanks for the feedback and patience as I learn as I go.
What i mean by customizing spellcasting is by adding a box (if you can) where you can put the foci power (like adding a spell power 2 foci to a certain spell = +2 dice) that adds up to your spell casting roll. Though the idea to add a list box where you can describe your foci in the spell tab is also interesting.
As for the initiation box, the idea was to, once you put a rank of initiation in it, it modifies your magic attribute points and astral pool (gained at rank 1 initiation) accordingly. If one of the initiates choose the shedding geas option, we can just remove the point earned manually from the magic attribute but, normally, everybody goes with the other 2 options when ranking up which gives automatically 1 magic point. It would also be neat to have the astral pool appear in the character sheet once you put the 1st rank of initiation in the box ;)
These two requests were just suggestions... the one that really was important was the possibility of adding new dice pools.
Anyway, keep up the good work :)
@rui
I honestly hope he doesn't do any automation like that because we use this character sheet for third edition actually :) so we already have to auto-fix something.
It's a shame there is no dedicated third edition char sheet but this one is definitely awesome!
Thanks for your work Darren.
Just to let you guys know, the format of sheet went funny. I accidently put a <dic> instead of <div> Have fixed it and asked to push it again ASAP. FIXED
Also I wanted to know, for a future update I was wondering if you would like the Deck, Vehicles and Drones information presented on the sheet horizontally (like Spells and weapons). I'm trying to minimise alot of scrolling for ease of playing, especially if you are a Rigger or have to keep tracks of multiple vehicles and drones.
@Darren
Hello! Yes our Rigger player doesn't like very much the Vehicle area of the char sheet so he's using an handout to manage his garage.
There is definitely something we would like added to the sheet!
I'm not sure if it's part of 2nd edition (it's been so long!), but the magic area dice prompt doesn't prompt you to roll your sorcery, it rolls instead the force of the spell dice. So we are literally adding extra dice to match the sorcery. Do you think an extra box with another prompt that is linked to sorcery and accounts force for the drain would be possible to add?
On another note, some of my players really dislike the black sheet, I was thinking maybe you could save two different sheets, a black and a white one?
And this is a stretch, but I think with few changes you could even save a Shadowrun 3rd edition sheet since they are almost equally functional and roll20 lacks one.
Thanks for everything you're doing!
@ Andrea
2nd Edition. Sorcery determines your ability to learn new spells as well as dtermining Magic Pool. Only Force and Magic Pool are used in casting.
I can easily change the colour a lighter off white colour maybe, white is just boring to me black and purple is just cyber punky to me lol. Roll20 doesn’t let you have duplicate sheets for games anymore. I am not too familiar with the 3rd Edition rules having never played it, so unsure of what changes would be needed for that ruleset.
Next Update: Colour change to a nice light grey. added a Logo :)
Hi again Darren, the sheet is working a lot better now!
I apologize but I have another request. With the new spell format the text gets stretched a lot, resulting in a very long wall of text in the chat.
My suggestion to make it look better is to shorten the space dedicated to the left column.
You could entirely remove the "Description" tab and maybe reduce Cast Test and Drain Test just to Cast and Drain.
If it's possible to make a single box for the description instead of two (it used to be like this in the previous character sheet), that would be great visually!
Thank you!
@Andrea
So I'm slowly learning CSS. heres a snippet of what it will look like alongside the new sheet colour. I will probably fiddle with the CSS next week all at once so it its all done and to make all roll templates the same and fit with the colour scheme. Please bear with me while I make the changes. It may be this time next week they take affect. Luckily it's half term so I will have a lot of time to fiddle.
Thats the best I can do with the CSS for the roll template. If the font is any smaller it might become unreadable.
Also did you mean to just gert rid of the Notes for Spell box? If so I might replace it at the top with something akin to a Modifier Tracker. so people know what numbers to put in the modifier box when casting.
I wish there was a better way of telling you guys updates. next updates...
Elements no longer collapse when window resized.(except for gear Tab will look into that)
Roll Templates changed/added to match sheet colours/ look a bit neater in chat.
Extra Dice pools added for more flexibility/other use.
The next update might not be for a while as I am going to attempt to redo the Decks and Vehicles Tab.
This is the format for the new Deck Layout. I have also made it so when you press the Response Button the initiative will show in the chat window and go to the Turn Order. I'm going to use this format to do Vehicles and Drones too. For a project that started in just making a workable sheet for me and my friends this has turned into a great project.
I agree Darren, we played religiously SR for 1 year now thanks to your sheet.
Roll20 owes you few subscriptions from my circle of friends :)
Thanks its fun, I have started a new thread to show proposed updates, please look and comment, im still trying to find the best way to communicate with players using this sheet.https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/9995161/shadowrun-2e-players-slash-gm-future-updates please have a look.
