Links in GM Notes not opening

Hello all! I have links in my GM notes made by putting a journal entry title in brackets and saving. When I open the GM notes again the link is there in the text editor but I can't click it. There is no option to go to the link. Am I missing something easy? These links should be clickable right?

is the link blue or purple (it should be purple, if it's blue, it means it's linking nowhere)? is the text in the url area when you look inside the link a http link or the name between square bracket? Remember that the name is case and space sensitive (I usually first call the handout with a temporary short name to generate the links, and I substitute it later)

GM notes of a character, handout, or token?
@marco the link does become purple after saving. It’s a link and I can see the link address is a roll20 url  if I go to “edit link” in the rich text editor. It seems like the bracket title to link conversion is working. @keith this is GM notes on a generic token (not tied to a character)

The issue here is that GM Notes on a token always open in edit mode. If you were to copy and paste all that text into a handout and save it, the links should work. There is also an API, Supernotes, that can send token GMNotes to the chat, but other than that, you are out of luck. This is not a workable solution. :(
Thanks Keith! That makes a ton of sense. It's just how the token GM notes are displayed. I was trying to create a "DM TOKEN" that has all my secret notes in it and can pop out journal entries from links. Maybe I can make "dummy" DM Character instead with all my notes in the DM notes section. It would be nice to have a set of notes that persists from session to session (a token) on the relevant map.

You can put all that stuff into a bar and call it out in chat. Here are some helpful non-API posts from the  Stupid Tricks  thread: Invisible Tokens  - keithcurtis — ( Video  by Nick O) Invisible Tokens - The Notes Token  -keithcurtis — ( Video  by Nick O)
