The Pitch: A world on the cusp of the Industrial Age, caught between the vendettas of the past and the uncertainty of a future unlike any age yet known. You will play an investigator of the Special Occult Services (SOS), a branch of the Aronecian Secret Police (ASP). Due to the clandestine nature of the department recruits are hired from all walks of life and trained in the necessary skills by ASP. It is a strange time, and the investigators of the SOS form the front line against the unknown. Strange technologies, fell creatures of myth, and the growing fascination of the public with forbidden rituals and ancient magic threaten the world as we know it. Can you hold the line? March of Iron is a voice-only RPG that uses a classless d100 system. You select the skills which suit your character rather than being forced into a specific role. Each session should last three to four hours and will encompass a single mystery. The world is dangerous, and should a character die, they will likely remain that way. Do not enter combat lightly, or ignorantly, for there is no such thing as a sure victory. Assets: Maps: Three fully detailed continental maps with cities railroads and multiple overlays. Website : A separate website dedicated to collecting after-action reports, character dossiers, and world lore. Lore: A detailed world whose future will be influenced based on the actions of the SOS. Player suggested lore, including factions and historical events can also be submitted and introduced to the game. Minor Base Building : Safehouse scattered around the world serve as temporary bases for your branch. The more missions you complete the greater your budget becomes, allowing you to invest in your safe houses by upgrading them and hiring new npcs. Just be careful, if your enemies discover your safe house, you may find yourself caught up in a siege. Reoccurring NPCs: Each safe house and town has dedicated npcs which can be utilized for gathering information and favors. Down Time Random Events : In between missions your characters still have lives to lead. A random dice roll determines what your character was up to in their down time. Battle Fatigue System: Regardless of how strong or experienced your character is, conflict and risk take a toll on one's psyche. Psychology is a new science and hardly understood, but ignoring your mental health could prove disastrous. Characters choose a vice which helps them cope at the moment, and rely on recreation to help them recover after missions. The stress acquired in missions can easily impact your civilian life. Reactive Stock Market: The world reacts to the actions of the players, as does its economy. There are a number of publicly-traded companies whose fortunes are occasionally tied to player missions and locations. While this can be utilized to earn, or launder, money, it is also a means of monitoring the pulse of the nations. Going after the largest company of a rival nation might be the moral thing to do, but beware of second and third-order effects.
