Okay, I have been receiving questions on character generation. Let me establish a few basic rules- No evil alignments You have 18 points to create your characters. If you provide a 500-word background(500 words is approximately 2 typed pages) on your character, you will have 24 points. It is a straight point for point buy with a base 10, no stats below 10 before racial mods above 18 before racial mods. This format gives out a character that at least average (10) in every stat and can be made even without a background to into a character that is 18,14,14,12,10,10. Not a bad character at all. IF A PLAYER WISHES TO HAVE A STAT UNDER 10 FOR WHATEVER REASON, THEY MAY IMPOSE WHAT EVER NEGATIVE TO THEIR STATS. THEY DO NOT RECIVEVE ANY POINTS FOR TAKING THEIR STAT INTO A NEGATIVE LEVEL. THE MAKING OF A NEGATIVE STAT WILL BE FOR THE ROLEPLAY OF SAID CHARACTER Half-Orcs are given +2 Con, and also are given their racial weapon the Double Bladed Axe as a simple weapon. They still need to acquire the 2 Weapon Feat to use both sides in one round. The books I am allowing: Complete Adventurer, Scoundrel, Divine, Warrior, Player's Handbook 1, Savage Species, Book of Exalted Deeds(specifically vow of poverty), DMG, Spell Compendium, and Magic Item Compendium. Please, no home-brews, and do not ask if you can bring a character in from different books than those listed. There is a reason I limit which books. There are things in the various 'Evil' campaign settings books that are highly broken. They are designed to be played in the anti-hero campaign where the characters are the main bad guys and being taken down. There is nothing wrong with it, but bringing in one of those characters in a world where the play are starting off as guards for the city, does not fit. You can use traits from UA, your character may start off with 3 traits. If you notice, I am allowing Savage Species. The reason why is it allows players to play a lot of non-human races. This opens up for good role-playing if done properly. But, you will also notice that Savage Species breaks each playable race down into levels. For example, it takes player 8 levels of playing a Minotaur before they can take their first-class level. During those 8 levels, they can only take the normal hit dice that is allowed for a Minotaur. Personally, I like this idea, it means that young a Minotaur somehow joined the human society and they are growing up among the humans becoming bigger and stronger. As the campaign progresses, I will allow characters to come in up to the ECL that the party is currently at. Also, if you are planning on taking a non-standard race, please be prepared to submit a 250-word background that explains why your character is here. Check with me on starting gold, as that will change as characters go up. Also, the standard 1 point for every four levels is in effect, so again that will be granted as characters go up. Characters should be able to fit into a mostly Elvin based campaign. This means they should be Elf, Human, Dwarf, Fey, Centaur, Pegasus, or Unicorn.
