Each element will have corporal acting as their leader, the corporal will be at least 5th level. A squad is composed of 2 elements.    This is commanded by a sergeant of at least 6th level.  The squad leader is usually senior footmen, but can be an archer, or caster. A platoon is composed of 5 squads and is led by a Lieutenant and a senior segreant, acting as the lieutenant's adjunct.     Therefore, each Lieutenant is personally responsible for five squads each consisting platoon of fifty soldiers and ten sergeants as squad leaders and 1 senior segreant as their direct aide.    In modern terms, the Lieutenant would be referred to as a platoon leader and the senior segreant would be either a staff segreant or segreant first class and would be referred to as a platoon segreant would oversee a large platoon acting as the platoon leader.   A Lieutenant would usually be 9th level and their platoon Segreant 7th level.    The next composition would be a century.   A century is composed of 2 platoons and is led by a Centurian, or Captain, a Centurian.    Modern equivalent in the military would be a company. Cohort would be the next level.   Each cohort would be consisted of 5 centuries and would be led by a Chief Centurian.   A cohort in modern terms would be a battalion and have and the Chief Centurian should be at least 10th level.     A Chief Centurian would be considered a LT Colonel.   Praefectus castrorum (camp Prefect) (this position is given to the high ranking, most long-term Centurion, they oversee all the administrative side of the camp and coordination.  This is not a war position, as it is more concerned with the general upkeep, supply, payment, and personnel of the legion) In modern armies, this would be equal to a division's adjutant   5 Tribunus angusticlavia control one thousand troops apiece, think full colonel controlling two battalions under them.   It is from the Tribunus angusticlavia that the Tribunus laticlavius are promoted.   The senior or most trusted Tribnunus angusticlavia is often promoted to Tribunus laticlavius, or it may be the trusted friend of the Legatus legionis.     Tribunus angusticlavia can also be from noble families, in which the members have been trained in the art of strategy and warfare.  In most legions, the Tribunus angusticlavia are promoted from within, though it is not unheard-of high-ranking nobles that have military experience to promoted to the rank.  Those nobles that have promoted to Tribunus angusticlavia have often served with their parents as aides on campaigns.   Young nobles are often placed at this level to be mentored by the Tribunus laticlavius and the Legatus legionis.   It is common that an inexperienced Tribunus angusticlavia will have their senior commanders collaborate closely with them and instruct them to the ways of warfare before letting them go out and perform oversee missions on their own.      1 Tribunus laticlavius, this is the legion’s second in command.      1 Legatus legionis, this is the legion commander.    Noncommissioned officer and officer breakdown: One thousand corporals (1 corporal for every five troops.) 500 Sergeants 100 Platoon Sergeants 100 Platoon Leaders/ Lieutenant 50   Centurions/Captains      10   Chief Centurions/Lieutenant Colonels 1     Praefectus castrorum (camp Prefect) 5    5 Tribunus angusticlavia 1    Tribunus laticlavius, this is the legion’s second in command.    1    Legatus legionis, this is the legion commander.   Legion fighting personnel, not including noncombatants and support:  6,768  Chattignon also have both a mounted cavalry and airborne cavalry consisting of giant eagles     Elvish Legion  Five hundred Footmen (they are armed with a Longsword, Tower Shield, Full Plate, and short bow) AC22 Two thousand Archer (Composite longbow, buckler shield, Elven Chainmail, and longsword) AC21 1500 arcane spell casters (Staff, Rapier, Longbow, and dagger) Usually  One thousand Divine spell casters (Heavy Shield, Full Plate, Longbow, and Long Sword) AC21   Centaur 4100 Heavy Centaur Calvary (they are armed with a longsword, tower shield, Full Plate and Heavy Lance) AC24    450 Divine spell caster riders (Heavy Shield, Full Plate, Longbow, and long sword) 450 Arcane Spell Caster Rider For Every five Centaurs, a divine Spellcaster or Arcane Spellcaster will be assigned as rider.     The Elves also have at their disposal two entire legions of Griffin Knights.  Griffin Knights are trained knights that have taken a cohort as the mount.  Griffin Knights are known by the honorific of Sir.  All Griffin Knights must have the series of needed feats to become one and have taken the leadership feat to make their mount their cohort.   Griffin Knights all have the following feats to qualify for the title of Knight:   Mounted Combat, Leadership, Mounted Archery, Ride by Attack, Spirited Charge, Trample and Cavalry Charge.   The Fey enforces the Elves acting as Auxiliary units.   Average cost to support each legion this size with the starting level being of soldiers and/or casters being fourth level is 731,425 GP per month.    That is standard mercenary pay for each position and level.    Chattignon is known to pay 200% the normal going rate, Thechlon usually pays 175% standard and the Dwarves paying usually standard rate.    Standard rate is also what most mercenary legions are paid, though some are paid more due to their ability, experience, and their ability to act on the behalf of a noble with no questions asked.   Trapalea pays normal rate, Calcaria pays approximately 150% standard rate due to requiring most of their recruits to have seafaring knowledge.   Satoria's army is entirely constructs with only the officers being humanoid.    Griffon knights and Eagle Knights are always officers and thus are paid more due to their ability of riding flying mounts.   The starting level for the two is eighth level and are usually fighters turned cavaliers. The Centaur Legions are at least ECL ten and higher. This is due to Centaurs having an LA of 6 and then 4 classes.  javascript:void(0);about:blank#blocked Save Edits
