This weeks episode began with the Adventurers waking to a bright suny day. Beginning with a morning meal they made their way down to the common room and spoke among themselves of what to do next and how to fix the situation with Jett. That question was answered, however when they saw him coming down the stairs, walk over to the Innkeeper, order food and then take a seat at a table away from them. Ever the outspoken one, Bardryn called over to him asking him why he was sitting away from them. When the Elf did not reply, she reasked the question louder. In response, Jett looked up but appeared to be more looking around at the room than the Dwarf. With no reaction made talk among them turned toward the change in Jett's behavour. Questions rose to the reason for the change; had the event with the mask wiped or altered his memory? Had he had a change of mind and now pretended not to know them? How come he did not seem to remember them? Wanting to know the truth as quickly as possible Calico cast zone of truth over him as they all made their way over to sit at his table. Facing him they asked him questions, trying to ascertain his situation yet every question proved useless as the Elf they once knew as Jett called himself Jethlaeril. As they asked their questions he answered with very carefully worded answers, keeping his playful ruse ongoing until Bartelot interrupted their interrogation with news of the murder of the Mayor and his wife, and being the last known people to see him, their confinement to the town by proclamation of the Military Commander while an investigation was being undertaken. Taken by surprise that they were somehow implicated in the death of the Mayor and his wife, the group immediately asked Bartelot if there was any way they could prove their innocence. Bartelot, knowing that his advice to stay away from the investigation would most likely be unheeded, answered that officially he was telling them to stay clear of the investigation but should they find some evidence to prove themselves innocent they should go to him directly with it. Once he left, the group discussed their next movements. Wisely, Calico and Bardryn decided to listen to Bartelots warning with Calico deciding to go back down to the town's slums and do his work for Sune by healing those in need and spreading word of her amongst them, and Bardryn heading to the library to research information about the Orbs of Power. Deciding to follow their lead, Jett, Catsi, Tados, and Lylliannes also decided to conduct other tasks to keep themselves busy while the investigation was ongoing. They agreed to meet back at the Inn at midday. Jett used the time to make some notes for his network contact in Ealinor and left to drop them at their drop location, while Tados and Lyllianes discussed a tune and song to be played while Charlemaines performed his newly learned dance. Catsi decided she would try and speak with Bartelot again to see if there was anything specific she could do or learn to aid them in proving themselves innocent; however, when she got to the Military Encampment she was told Bartelot was at the Mayors house conducting his investigation. To pass time, she decided to expore Ealinor some more. Once they had formulated their music, Tados took himself off to the Town Green to spend some time in peace by himself, while Lylliannes headed for the Tanner to claim her new saddle. On entering the store she was greeted by the young woman who she had last spoken to while there, who then went to get Sam for her. When he came out he happily told her he was finished and blushingly asked if she would like him to carry the saddle over for her. Seeing his shyness and thinking it was cute, she alllowed him to and together they headed for the stable. When Charlemaines saw Sam enter carrying a large thing in his arms, the bear began to become anxious but Lylliannes expended a use of her staff to tell the bear what was happening. Charlemaines somewhat reluctantly allowed the saddle to be fitted but once it was on he seemed okay with it. Sam then proposed they test the saddle out by taking Charlemaines for a ride outside of town, blushing ever more. With a chuckle, Lylliannes agreed and together they lead headed for the West Gate, Sam leading his horse and Lylliannes leading Charlemaines, drawing a lot of attention to herself as she did so. As they walked, Lylliannes made small talk with the Tanner, getting to know him a little more and they passed the gate without issue. Jumping up onto their saddles they were about to head out when they were suddenly surrounded by five guards on horses. It was at this time, that Lylliannes remembered Bartelot's warning of their confinement to the town, and making great amounts of apologies tried to talk her way back to the Inn. The lead Soldier wanted to keep his job though, telling Lylliannes she could either politely accompany them back to the Encampment or be taken by force. Lylliannes complied, asking Sam to take Charlemaines back to the Inn and tell her friends what had happened. At the library, Bardryn was lead to books that would give her the information she required and spending some time researching found little more about the Orbs than what she already knew; they were Orbs placed at pivotal axis points that would enable them to maintain the world's equilibrium. There were five Orbs in total created at The Beginning; the Heart Sphere and four lesser Orbs that drew on the Heart Sphere's power. The Orbs each represented a part of the world; green for earth, orange for fire, blue for water, and white for air, and if the Heart Sphere was taken from its place of rest or began to lose power then the other four would lose their power and the world's equilibrium would be thrown causing great unrest. After reading all she cold about them, she decided to see what records she could find about the Sorcerer, Gareth and once being shown a book of records of the Ambar Tower by the librarian, quickly rifled through until she came across an entry about Gareth. Here she read that he had joined the Ambar Guild as all others as young Sorcerer but had quickly risen through the ranks as his abilities proved advanced. In time, he had gained one of the five positions among the Grand Sorcerers of the Tower which, according to the entry, he still held. There were not new notations about him leaving the Ambar Guild or stealing the Heart Sphere. While Bardryn was reading, Jett conducting his networking, and Lylliannes getting arrested, Calico was happily conducting his pious work in the slums. This time though, the Elders of this portion of the town recognised him and quickly escorted him to an open area of land beside an Inn where they conducted a more orderly fashion among the poorer townsfolk wanting his healing. One by one they came to him in turn and Calico happily healed those who needed it and provided advice to those who requested it; and to all he taught the knowledge of Sune. In time, a male approached him but as Calico looked at him, the Drow saw that this man did not seem to fit among the poor. Though he wore poor clothing, they were the only thing that appeared to be of low value about the man. He was not dirty, his hair was finely styled and cut, and his posture was of a man of prominence not a poor, downtrodden person. As the man drew near, Calico asked him for his name but the man only replied by placing a folded cloth on the Drow's leg. As the man nodded toward the cloth, Calico unfolded it to see that it was a stitching of the emblem of Sune with stitched wording "Your deeds have been noticed." Asking the man what this meant, he replied that he was sent to Calico to request his presence at the Cathedral at the sixth hour of the afternoon and should he reply to his benefactors that Calico would be attending. Calico replied that he would attend at which the male turned and walked away leaving Calico to fold the cloth into his clothing to safe keeping. Come noon, the party gathered at the Inn and sat to eat when they noticed they were two members down. Thinking that Catsi and Lylliannes had teamed up and were exploring, they talked about their morning where Calico told them of his mysterious guy and the planned meeting. His naivety caught the others by surprise who immediately set to warning him of his possible assassination if he attended the meeting, until they were interrupted by a heightned Sam who let them know of Lyllianes arrest. After spending time walking the town Catsi decided to head back to the Encampment to try find Bartelot where, asking around, he was lead to a room where he found Bartelot conversing with some others. After getting his attention, the soldier took her to his office where Catsi asked how they could best prove their innocence. She informed Bartelot that Jett was adamant the painting held a keylock for the hidden door to the underground room and if they could somehow get into the house they could prove it to him. After some convincing, Bartelot agreed to help as he still felt somewhat obliged to help after they saved him from the mines. He told Catsi to meet him at the Encampment at dusk where he would dress her and Jett in some gear to sneak them past the guards and into the house. Having confirmed this, Catsi went back to the Inn where she found the others preparing to leave, and asking them where they were headed, followed them back to the Encampment to speak once more with Bartelot about getting Lylliannes out of the cell. Now somewhat frustrated by having to frequently assist in getting one of their members out of gaol, Bartelot headed off to the cells and returned a short time later saying they would release her with a fine. With the fine paid, and a very embarrassed Lylliannes released, the six made their way back to the Inn, the strong wording of Bartelot in thier ears reminding them not to leave the town until the investigation had been completed.
