Hey been feeling the tabletop gaming itch since the first lockdown, I did play with friends but they have had a kid so can't really find the time.So here I am looking for a group that can play on uk GMT. Would have posted something much earlier but was a bit unsure in the sense (and no offence intended) that I wasn't sure if I would get along with a bunch of randoms from the internet. Which to be fair is a real and fair possibility so would look to get to know people first before launching into a game, perhaps through playing online games (such as move or die, terraria, gmod etc) with each other and or just generally chatting? Also would be willing to DM, although fair warning I have never done that before in my life ( read a lot online that offering to be the dm would be the best way of finding a group). This could also be discussed later perhaps as I do really like to play but like I said I have never done it before so might quite enjoy it but anyways. As for pathfinder or d&d I have had a lot more experience with pathfinder in the last few years but have been really wanting to have a go at D&D 5e. So I guess thank you for reading and possibly hearing from you.
Hi Max, i share your feeling about not being able to play a game in real life, and also your reservations for gaming with some online strangers. But given the pandemic, I would be willing to give it a shot. I did play a game here already with some friends of a friend and it was actually quite fun. In terms of system, I used to play D&D 3.5 a lot, not a big fan of 5e. But if you want to DM a pathfinder game, I would be interested. (Pathfinder should be fairly similar to 3.5, right?). I am situated in central Europe, so the timezone is not an issue. Cheers Andy
Hey Andy, yeah pathfinder definitely reminds me more of older D&D it is different but similar enough. Has some interesting class choices. Thank you for your interest, we will definitely need to talk further and see if we can get more people. I hope something can come together really wanting to get some kind of game going. I have also only played older editions of D&D, not played 5e yet.
Hi Rachel I have seen the paid games while looking for games to join on this before not sure if I'm willing to pay for a game at the moment. Really curious about how that works though. So are you like a full time DM? When I saw paid games I did wonder if people could run games full time. With work fridays wouldn't work for me anyway.
I'm doing a oneshot, I made a post about it, the date is pretty flexible.
Hi Max, thank you for the feedback. Let us see where this goes.Actually, did some reading on Pathfinder and found an old char sheet between my books, so I do have played it :-). How many players are you comfortable with? In the past my prefer number was 3-5, everything above or below is hard to manage. Hey Andy Yeah that number seems pretty manageable, would say 4 to 5 for a more well rounded team of adventurers. Always thought that the core classes needed were thief, cleric, spellcaster and an up front damage dealer of some kind, thats just me personally though. 5 - 6 would be perfect for a wide party skill set I always thought. Again just my personal opinion.
Bumping this, also getting a lot of offers just to join groups like i said would like to get to know people first.
Yeah, i get a lot of "join my paid game" 5E offers, but na, also i think better know the people at least a bit and paid game sounds very strange to me
I mean if your a group of players looking for a dm I can see the point but not sure about a group of randoms who don't know each other.
