How Can I Add a Rich Text Editor, Free Form Free Text Field, or Upload Word Docs to Character Sheet or Character Vault

fHi Community Support,

My specific ask is to add either an RTF field that is Private to Player and DM ONLY for storing character notes,  research, etc.

Currently controls on Bio tab of character sheet are either Public or Private. To be consistent with SDLC accepted best practice, asking to enhance roll20 tobe handle this by user, and then add read/write/access levels to this  Private Rights by Individual Users, not just wide open Public OR Private global RWE for Character sheets.

In the meantime, I would like to know how we can add another area like the Private GM/Player RTF field to the Bio Tab.  Also asking that RTF editor be enhanced to accept Word/Excel/Other File attachment ability that would link directly to Individual Player-Game-Object level so that a player may have distinct object-file access per game, so that character-game sheet object link can perpetuate in the DB.

Also asking that Roll20 enhance character vault to support upload and display of individual file access as hyperlinks displayed next to character/game records directly in UI.

The Bio & Info tab on character sheets/journals is built into Roll20 and is not user editable as far as layout goes.

Text areas within a sheet (the Character Sheet tab) obey the same permissions as the sheet as a whole, so there isn't a way to differentiate between different people viewing a certain part of the sheet.

You can already link to handouts or other sheets/journals that exist in the game, or even to external urls within a handout or the Bio & Info tab as it is.  What are you trying to do that can't be linked?

The character vault is just a purely data snapshot of the character (no character sheet UI because the html, css, and js for those only exist inside a game instance), so I can't imagine that there will ever be an upload.  The hyperlinks still display, but they won't work if they reference handouts, because those handouts only exist within a game.  If you have links to external places on the web (including compendium pages you have access to on Roll20) on the Bio & Info tab, those will still work from the vault.

If you want to propose some of these things as suggestions, you should post in the Suggestions forum, and they may eventually get implemented depending on votes (community interest) and how it ties in (or not) with development.

Bomba, I also think that parts of your requests can-be done now with Handouts (permissions configure how you described), other parts of your post will be Suggestions.

For the Suggestions parts that don't currently exist, I guess the best we can do is add to an existing Character Sheets Suggestion thread in the forum:

To be honest I'm not sure which parts is which.

You can easily create new Handouts that 1 Player can Edit & See, and the GM can automatically also see it.

I've been able to Copy-Paste from Word Docs into Handouts or Bio Tab, with mixed success. Some errors.

Thanks for the quick responses.  I took a good look around the internets today after I posted this to the community, and didn't find much.  I literally logged into the community and the the handout light went off for me, as well.  That works fine for now.

Funny, right after it happened, the voice of God came on to my speaker inside of the game and suggested handouts, as well.  It wasn't really God, because the voice, my friend Ken, knows all about advantage in 5e.  God can't hit one irons and still feels a little weird about advantage.
