5th of Marpenoth, 1492 (Sunrise)     The party awakens bright and early to a new day in Phandalin. They get up and plan for their day's adventure over a usual meal of bread, cheese, fruit, and a butter skull, noting Alastar being absent from the table. The party figured he'd show up later on, so they go about their day to sell the excess weapons and seek out further health potions from the lady of the mill. Unfortunately, they were met with subtle chaos of the town as ladders were strewn about the entirety of Phandalin.     Slightly perturbed by this, with Naisis getting side glances from her siblings, the troop presses onwards to the LionShield Coster to sell their excess weapons. They turn a profit of 120 gold, which Briar distributes the agreed share to his siblings before he takes note of a mystical object in one of the display cupboards. Enamored, he gets closer and inspects a black silken handkerchief like cloth, with his inspection and knowledge of the arcane he recognizes it as a portable hole, a very rare and difficult item to come across. He asks about it, showing interest in purchasing it before being let down by the substantial price of an item, $10,000 gp. Briar knowing the party has nowhere near that amount of funds, begrudgingly he puts the portable hole back, making note to try and find ways to get it later.     On the way out, the party is stopped by a small mob of the locals, including the woodworker Naisis ordered the ladders from, all looking angrily at the party. The woodworker accused the party of foul play as he recognized the ladders as the same ones he was tasked to make through Barthen, who confirmed she got the first batch of ladders from him the night prior. Thankfully they managed to deceive the mob, reminding them that they've done great deeds for Phandalin and asked why they would do such a thing. This quelled the mob quite a bit as that was for the most part true, having Kia speak some 'sense' to the mob. They shifted the blame on the ratkin they've managed to take out the tenday prior, saying it most likely was them as payback for what they did to them. This made enough sense to back the town off of them and let them go about their day unharmed.     The party eagerly heads to the mill south of Phandalin in the umbral hills, finding the lady of the mill was not spared the chaotic nature of Naisis, as a number of ladders were resting on her mill. Upon approaching, she was startled by Marrow, the skeletal horse's head was poking out in full view of her. She cries out in surprise and rushes into her mill, shutting the door behind her. Briar calls out to her and lets her know it was alright, which she replied from her second-story window, still startled by the horse, but recognizing Briar and Kia put her a bit more at ease. Briar offers to help remove her ladder problem, for a discount on the potions, to which she agrees. Briar calls upon his undead to hop out of the cart and start removing the ladders, to which she replies with another cry of shock and closing of her window.     As the cleanup was taking place, Naisis attempts to rush up the side of the windmill, fumbles a bit, and falls back down the ladder she ran up. Undeterred and huffing in frustration, she uses the ladders she just broke to pole vault most of the way up the mill, before climbing up the stones to the roof. The watch as a ladder suddenly appears from the roof, landing into the nearby pile. Naisys proceeds to redeem herself by leaping off the roof Assassins Creed style, and using her extending pole, she slows her descent as soon as it hits the ground, sliding down the pole with ease nearby Kia, who gives her a bit of healing for her troubles.     As soon as the ladders were cleaned up, they purchased 5 healing potions and a greater for a discounted 300 gp for their efforts, bulk discount, and the fact they did save her before. All in all a decent price. The party loads up and heads to the coast, taking a break from the Phandalin tasks to do a little quest on their own, with sunken treasure on their minds. Tolben dropped a hint a tenday ago to Briar, informing him of a lighthouse with an eerie green glow that pulls in ships from sea to crash into the craggy rocks across the shore, sending many seamen to a watery grave. All those ships likely has some decent treasures sunken with them if they were brave enough to venture into the waters.     The group arrives at the cliffside shore, looking down to the strange lighthouse that gives off a greenish light pointing out to the sea, pulsing to the sound of a very slow and deep heartbeat. The party a little perturbed by this makes their way down a stone stairway carved into a ridge that split into the cliff, giving them a bit of access just big enough for them to make their way single file towards the beach, having to, unfortunately, leave behind their horses and wagons. Briar leaving the troop of zombies to guard their belongings.     Once at the beach, they find a giant crab along the beach, waving at them. Kia sees this and recognizes this as a friendly gesture, the party heads down to the beach to see this crab, before they were caught off guard when the crab says "Well met" to the party, causing Briar to fall back onto his ass. After speaking with it a little bit, they found out the elven lady who gave him the intelligence to talk was grieving nearby, and the crab asked the party to help her. In return, he promised them he'd find something nice in the sunken ships for their efforts. The party agrees, being informed that the waters are infested with sharks around the lighthouse, so they should be careful, while harpies live up in the rocks of the lighthouse.     The party with a newfound purpose outside of just treasure, makes their way to a small outcropping with a cavern cut through it, the rocky pathway leading through it. They hear sorrowful cries coming from inside, so they carefully make their way in to find the friend of the crab, the elven lady which they find has webbed hands and feet. However, it turns out this elven lady was killed by a half-orc brute a while back, as she floats before the party as a banshee, her tattered clothing and hair softly whisping around her as if she was aloft under the water. She shares her sad story of how she was brutally killed and her corpse defiled by the half-orc brute, as he had stolen her opalescent conch as a trophy, and she's been stuck unable to cross over due to this. She pled with the party to retrieve her conch, that it was her spell focus and thus her most prized possession, and bring it back to the cave so her spirit could rest. The party agreed and pressed on, Kia angered by what she had heard.     The party makes their way up to the large outcropping that the lighthouse stands on, not seeming too worried about the noise they're making, they caught the attention of some harpies nearby, who started to attack the party. This fight was quite a bit tougher than normal, as the harpies flew and could fly in and land hits, before flying off without instigating an opportunity attack, and they had a charm effect if they sang. The battle was hard-fought, Briar summoning a skeletal undead spirit to fire at the harpies, while Kia and Naisys took the brunt of the damages. Kia unfortunately was caught by one of the harpies' songs, causing her to head towards the harpy and fall off the edge of the cliff, tumbling a full 80 feet down to the icy water below. Naisys managed to land and hold onto another harpie, keeping herself held on tight as the harpy tried to shake her off. Briar's skeleton hits the finishing blow on each of the harpies, two of them landing into the water while the third lands on the steps leading up to the lighthouse. Naisys being stuck in the air on one of the harpies leaps off and manages to minimize the impact of the water, going feet first.     Briar steps out off of the cliff, using fly, he goes down to aid his sisters, Naisys preferring to use her speed to swim ashore, Briar aided Kia back onto the cliffs and back up to the pathway. Both Kia and Naisys found out the other danger of the seawater in the cold times of fall starting to cool down to freezing temperatures. The sisters make it back to the landing of the lighthouse with Briar, Naisys using her oil to light a fire to warm herself a bit before joining them. Brair further aids the two by casting a burning hands like spell and helping warm the two of the cold water and stopping it from sapping all their energy and body heat.
