So my friends and I are playing a very narrative based Curse of Strahd game where the difficulty is amped up and the garbage writing from the book is excluded. However we just kicked out our party rogue who had been with us from the beginning for a number of reasons. Needless to say, we have an opening for a rogue-like character. HOWEVER: Due to this being a narrative focused game that is on the verge of wrapping up (9-12 sessions until it finishes). We cannot justify bringing in a new, unique character to the campaign because lets be real your character is not going to be relevant at all and its going to create this awkwardness immersion break in the narrative. However here is what I offer: Those who are familiar with the Curse of Strahd module will know of the Vistani Arrigal, who worked for Strahd as one of his assassins and carried out covert tasks. This NPC no longer wishes to serve Strahd for reasons I can explain later. Arrigal was the first character the party met in this campaign and did something that fits the 6th Ranger archtype perfectly and would be amazing if someone could take this NPC and turn him into a player character. You have free reign to use Arrigal, I would ask that you keep this following: Race: Human Variant Sex: Male Alignment: Lawful Evil Class: Assassin Rogue (Currently 13th level) Personality Traits (Can add more but keeping the listed): I'm an opportunist, not an optimist. I don't do things out of the kindness of my heart, I do what needs to be done, especially when everyone else is too afraid to do it. Ideal: (Up to you) Bonds: My brother Luvash, his daughter Arabelle, and the Vistani (You can add more, like if you want Arrigal to have a wife and children as well, heavily encouraged you flesh him out and make him super interesting) Flaws: (Up to you) There will be some "truths" to your backstory as well, but what else you want to do with this backstory to make him yours is perfect fine and is encouraged. We don't want you to be a voiceless robot, we are looking for something who can bring theatrics to this game. That being said this game is super power gaming (not too much though) in that players are player very optimized characters and are still struggling with combat but everyone is enjoying it a lot. Think of this as Curse of Strahd the Bloodborne edition. We are also wanted exceptional roleplayers, people who are really good at being social and know how to really use a Lawful Evil (Not Lawful Asshole) character. I get that this isn't for everyone but we really need someone to take this mantle and I can garantee you're gunna have a good time playing as Arrigal.
