motw character sheet rolls being weird?

So when playing monster of the week the last two sessions using the motw sheets and connected rolling, me and my players had a weird experience where in both sessions they rolled failures significantly higher than any other result. They rolled about 15 failures first session and 13 the second. This is with boosted stats and forwards gained from good use of their moves as two are decently high leveled and they're all experienced. In comparison, they rolled under 8 mixed successes and successes. When we switched over to typing out the rolls instead of clicking from the sheet, their rolls averaged significantly better and they had a fighting chance. Is this honestly just bad luck over two sessions, or is there something potentially going on with the motw character sheet that I can't see? These sessions left my players and me all feeling really weird about the game, despite the fact that they solved the mystery, as the near constant struggle to succeed on anything left us all rather weary.

When you roll from the sheet, are the correct number and type of dice rolled, with the correct modifiers applied? If so, you can send your players to this page for reassurance that the results are indeed random: https://app.roll20.net/home/quantum The data is for d20 rolls, but the same method is used to generate random rolls for other dice.
