I love the new dynamic lighting, but the thing that makes me super excited about it is the fact that I can make nightvision LOOK like it's dark and spoopy. However, doing so for multiple players make my (the GM's) screen completely trash and difficult to work with. I am all too sure that the devs have to be aware of this, but in case they aren't... (Also, please don't tell me to go back to legacy... The point is to FIX this issue with the new lighting.) Here is three player tokens with Nightvision and tint turned on from the GM's viewport: As you can see, where their tint overlaps, the map becomes an almost unusable dark purple void. Here is the same room from the perspective of a player who owns ONE of these tokens. (player viewport) This is what I'd expect of a room that is mostly dark except for the sunlight coming through a grate above. The dark purple gives a sense of darkness but is usable. Now, if I give the DM "ownership" of all three tokens, the GM still has the overlap issue, but at least the tokens aren't completely obscured. And since the DM can see the overlap of the tokens normally (as they can see all things), I would have imagined that a player owning all three tokens would now have the same issue of stacked tints making the room almost black. Nope. The player who owns all three tokens with tints overlapping STILL doesn't have the same issue GM's have with it multiplying. Is there a way GM's can get THIS? It's a problem that the players do not have but the GMs do. Settings I am using: New Lighting System Vision: On Night Vision: On Distance: 60 Tint: #20124d Effect: None Edit: For further reference, with players spread out in different rooms, you can better see this multiplying effect.
