Late in the afternoon the sun began to set in the cold Northern Mountains; its greatest peaks casting long shadows on the party of adventurers huddled on a ridge looking down on the enormous HILL GIANT FORT where a village once resided. As they surveilled the unexpected palisaded structure, the party met  a GNOME TRADER headed to the fortress, confident he could safely sell his wares there. The front gates opened to reveal a HILL GIANT CHIEFTEIN and a retinue of OGRE attendants. The gnome was quickly ushered in with minimum interest. The party thought that it would be best to circumnavigate the entire structure and seek out a backdoor in. The party was reminded of the DIRE WOLVES in a courtyard to the North, besides the gate the adventures spotted a large door to the north. The party successfully circumnavigated the wooden structure finding neither a back entrance nor any other way in. It was then when they were started by TWO STONE GIANTS. The party immediately went into action with STRIPE fireing arrows that struck one. GORHAM approached and attacked with a FLAMING SWORD! Their rocky skin was reduced to soft flesh ANNIKA's FLESH to STONE spell! FREYA flew into the air and hid amongst a DARKNESS spell! After some combat where GOGANI the WHITE APE, like his father before him, STRUCK the GIANTS with his great APE FISTS and slowed them in their tracks. RAGNA did her due diligence and insured party members would receive her HEALING TOUCH! Later in the evening GORHAM decided it would be best to SKIN THE GIANTS and place their BODIES IN A TREE!? In the hopes of blaming the WILDMEN whom had suffered the same exact fate at the hands of the GIANTS. Then, one by one, FREYA ferried the party high above on the fortress rooftop, using her broom to do so. Not long after 2 HILL GIANTS showed up (RONNIE & RALPH) who spotted the skinned STONE GIANT in the tree. Not 10 minutes later, the CHIEFTEIN was back and took into account what he saw before him! The ploy had worked, but in what way? Losing no time the party then headed to the eastern wall, near an open chimney. GORHAM stayed behind, allowing he and FREYA to cover a chimney with one of the skins- Creating a smoke-box! In the center chimney leading to the great hall, GORHAM dropped a back of black powder into a fire a causing a minor explostion! The attack was on, the party took an aggressive stance to this GIANT threat. ANNIKA, not to be outdone, and wanting to test her new found powers, lowered a rope into the COURTYARD of DIRE WOLVES. The party thought she mad! Although she fell a third of the way down (she was INVISIBLE mind you) she managed to feed one of the DIRE WOLVES a meaty bone! This was the perfect opportunity to cast ANIMAL FRIENSHIP! The DIRE WOLF failed its SAVE! It was now her friend! There was a 1 in 10 chance of it being the ALPHA---AND IT WAS! But the GIANT DIRE WOLF HANDLER appeared, WHIP in hand, causing wolves to scatter, but before he round the corner---ANNIKA turned into a DIRE WOLF! When he neared the corner, she and her wolf lunged at him while FREYA cast a DISINTERGRATE spell that only robbed most of his health and vigor from him, he died by the bite of ANNIKA, allowing her to take the WHIP at the behest of FREYA. HOW WILL THE GIANTS REACT TO THE CHAOS THAT HAS JUST STRUCK THEM? WILL THEY ENACT A TERRIBLE REVENGE? TO BE CONTINUED !
