Ch. 59: The Adventurers Find Nundro and Head Back to Phandalin

Sirus: Eyyy. Roqar: Morning Sirus: So, with a bit of luck, we might finish off these caves today. Roqar: Hopefully yes have a feeling we will have to fight the Drow Sirus: Well, with the Bugbears more or less out of the way, that sounds a lot more doable. And hello DM. Roqar: Yes should be Hey DM Dungeon Master (GM): Hello guys! Sirus: Ey. I see Bahrrenn is with us today too. A good sign. Bahrrenn Drakke: Hello everyone, sorry that I wasn't able to join last session Sirus: Np, life happens. Dungeon Master (GM): I found a map for venomfang's encounter so I am putting it in right now Sirus: ...Poison, poison, everywhere. Note to self: Buy antidote. Bahrrenn Drakke: Question,, why am I in the mushroom room? Sirus: Oh don't worry, we already burned the fungi away It's safe. Bahrrenn Drakke: And why is the old man ghost fighting owlbears? Sirus: Bugbears, you mean. Bahrrenn Drakke: bugbears* Sirus: kek Roqar: We are passing through it to go around the spiders Sirus: Ok so, to summarize last session Bahrrenn Drakke: "Stuff happened." Sirus: The party decided to go along with Nezznar for now, and showed them to the Spellforge However after that, they were told to go flush out Mormesk Dungeon Master (GM): skim over the weekly game summary you would know! Sirus: And the party really wasn't feeling good about trying to kill Mormesk after they helped him with the Observer and all So basically they warned Mormesk about the invaders, and now Mormesk is gonna defend his place and mess em up Meanwhile, the party is gonna go around behind to try and get Nundro out of harm's way And then probably go slay some drow Bahrrenn Drakke: wow, drows drows again XD Sirus: Yes, two of them Nezznar and the no-name drow who was herding the bugbears in the first place Bahrrenn Drakke: Kk, thanks for the recap Sirus: Np Roqar: And if we find a reason to kill Rolo Another Drow thats ok with Roqar HAHA Sirus: kekw Unlikely tho. Seems like he will most likely help us to keel the other drows instead. Job is a job. Roqar: Yeah He does seem to be helping us so Hes ok I guess Sirus: So far, yes. Mmh, missing Buddy, Elizabeth and Rolo tho Roqar: they seem to pop up at game time Sirus: True. So in theory they should be here quite soon. Although none of them posted availability. cam is on rolo Aight there we go Rolo: morning Sirus: Heya Roqar: Hey Rolo: is my sound off Sirus: Yep, it's off now We are good, I think. Rolo: ty Bahrrenn Drakke: (Gonna afk for 20-40 mins, need to feed my dog) Roqar: Go feed the Pup Dungeon Master (GM): Oh my, Buddy is currently with a friend whom is slowly passing away right now. Sirus: Ah, ok. Then he isn't showing. It's fine, understandable. Yikes. Rolo: sorry to hear that Dungeon Master (GM): I am guessing it is the same fellow he would go help when he needed help with a wheelchair or if he fell, when we were gaming. Sirus: Perhaps. Rolo: we are out of combat?
Sirus: I think combat is still underway, because there is Mormesk and the bugbears, and likely the spiders after that. We may end up getting back into the fight tbph Rolo: k Dungeon Master (GM): ok, yes the adventurers are out of the combat but there are 3 more that are dealing with Mormesk Sirus: We are out of it, but it's still ongoing yes. Rolo: im out of 2lev spell slots Dungeon Master (GM): I am going to roll on if they retreated after they saw you did so I think. Sirus: The reason why Marcy waited so long is so they didn't all just retreat until they were far too in the middle of it but okay. Dungeon Master (GM): (To GM)rolling d100( 2 ) = 2 Sirus: Also Elizabeth seems to be absent. Dungeon Master (GM): I think I only counted 4 bugbears in the XP it should have been 5 Sirus: Someone is gonna need to take Dia and Juan, I think. Dungeon Master (GM): We can get underway here. Maybe Elizabeth will just be a little late. Sirus: Mhm. If nobody else is gonna, I can handle Dia and Juan, at least until Elizabeth comes back. Dungeon Master (GM): did someone draw stuff in the fungi room or am i seeing dynamic lighting stuff? Sirus: Yeah I drew on the fungi to show that it's burnt up. though now that I think about it, not all of it got burnt up Dungeon Master (GM): oh, ok, really though I thought it was just the path between the spellforge entrance and the passage you are currently in that got burned away not those spots! Sirus: Yeah hang on, lemme touch that up a bit. Dungeon Master (GM): I am going to remove that turn order now Roqar: Good plan Marc but still It was too damn long Roqar was very anxious tho knowing the plan afterwards helps Sirus: heh. Dungeon Master (GM): Long?! it was only 1.7 minutes! ;p Sirus: kek. Ok, so we are heading up the northern passage to see if we can catch a glimpse of Nundro I believe. Letting the bulk of Nezznar's forces remain preoccupied with Mormesk. Dungeon Master (GM): ok, just move your token where you wish to go and also do not forget you have two companions waiting in the one water cave area Sirus: Right. Sildar and Gundren. Guess we can go check in with them first. Sildar Hallwinter the Fighter Says: "I see you are all back and in one piece." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "For now yeah, but it's not over. We found Nundro. Looks like a couple of drow got to him. He's alive for now, but....spiders. Real big ones..." Gundren the Dwarf Says: "Any sign of my brother, Nundro?" Sirus: lol good timing DM Gundren the Dwarf Says: "Spiders?! oh geez." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "We just need to track down where they have him" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yeah, I know. There was a wraith down the far side....we convinced him to give us a hand, but i'm sure that's not going to hold forever. We're gonna come back around from behind....see if we can get Nundro to safety." Sildar Hallwinter the Fighter Says: "Sounds good to me." Gundren the Dwarf Says: "Yea, sounds good." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Okay. Let's move, everyone...!" Sirus: Hmm'st. Do we go east or do we try to go back to where the spiders were at first.... ...Yeah west. Roqar: I'm thinking go East Sirus: Someone's pinging that room. :p Rolo: rolo thiks that room Roqar: Alright Take the hint and go West? Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Rolo....think you can reach out into that room, send a message to Nundro?" Says: "Might tell us if he's in there." Rolo: k i do
Sirus: Ok so DM, since Rolo knows Nundro's name, he sends his message spell around the corners and into the room, and messages him if he is in the room. Dungeon Master (GM): ok, since you have seen Nundro before it would work so long as he is within 120 ft Rolo: yep Dungeon Master (GM): There is no reply from Nundro Sirus: Ok, then he is not in the room, I guess. Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Nothing?" Roqar: East it is then Dungeon Master (GM): description of the room that Rolo has just entered: Six cracked marble pillars line the walls of this hall, at the north end of which stands a nine-foot-tall statue of a dwarf seated on a throne, a mighty stone warhammer across his lap. Large emeralds gleam in the statue’s eyes. The dust and debris covering the floor has been swept to one side, and a campsite of sorts now spreads in front of the statue. Half a dozen bedrolls and packs are neatly arranged around a rough-built fire pit. A wooden table stands on the west side of the room between two pillars. Sirus: There are still ropes across the chasm, right? Dungeon Master (GM): yes tied to stalagmites those are bedrolls that rolo is standing by one of them Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Rolo? Rolo, come on, he isn't here! We need to keep moving!" Rolo: message ok anything valueble Bahrrenn Drakke: (Back) Sirus: welcome back Dungeon Master (GM): well on the table to the west Rolo sees parchment and what looks like maps. Rolo: i take them Dungeon Master (GM): ok and you now also find a sack on the table Rolo: take the sack and go anything in it Dungeon Master (GM): The sack contains 190 ep, 130 gp, 15 pp, nine small gemstones (10 gp each), and a dwarven ale mug made of hammered electrum (100 gp). Rolo: cool met up with the party i shut the doors when leaving putting the loot in the pack pack and share it with the party Sirus: I vote south. East just leads back to where we were more or less. Ok, one vote to just go east. Alright. Egh I suppose it makes a degree of sense. Rolo: k i follow the party Dungeon Master (GM): Oh, when Rolo was in the room he did see a passage with a door on one wall on the chamber's east side. Rolo: i let the party know that Marcuria the Human Barbarian Proceeds down the eastern corridor, although she motions for the others to wait back a bit, until she gives the signal. Sirus: Does Marcy spot anything going on in front of the Spellforge room? Dungeon Master (GM): no, it is quiet in the area right now with no sign of spiders. Sirus: Mmh don't trust that. Can Marcy pick up a loose stone and throw it to see if anything reacts? Dungeon Master (GM): certainly Rolo: i meesage her to loook on the ceiling Dungeon Master (GM): a lose bone even Marcuria the Human Barbarian Picks up a loose bit of stone off the floor and throws it into the room, to see if there's anything at all that might react. Dungeon Master (GM): She sees nothing moving along the ceiling Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Thanks for the reminder..." Rolo: do u have dark vision Sirus: Nope. Human. Rolo: may i help Roqar: 17 | 17 STEALTH (2) Roqar Sirus: Roqar gonna stealth into the room, I take it? Roqar: Yeah try to Sirus: STELF = ON Dungeon Master (GM): Roqar quietly creeps into the spellforge cavern
Rolo: lost my token Sirus: Yeah seems to be misplaced. DM? Rolo: i dont see it ty Dungeon Master (GM): you're welcome Sirus: So, room is clear? Dungeon Master (GM): yes Roqar: pop the door open Dungeon Master (GM): ok, the room has no occupants inside Marcuria the Human Barbarian Shakes her head and doubles back, trying the south path next instead. Roqar: Shut the door wave everyone forward Sirus: Oh yeah, is Dia's fog wall still up? From last session? Dungeon Master (GM): only if she's still concentrating on it to be up...it can last up to an hour. Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Roqar?....oh for the love of....get back here.." Heads back into the room and waves Roqar to come back. Dungeon Master (GM): Roqar does not see the 3 other bugbears or their bodies for that matter. Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Running out of places they could have run off to." Says: "Let's check to the south next." Sirus: No sign here either? Eh?....ok, now i'm starting to run out of ideas. Only so many places 4 giant spiders and a couple of drow can run off to. Dungeon Master (GM): I did figure out how far they could move during the battle. Bahrrenn Drakke: (Can I roll for survival to track any signs for them?) Rolo: theres a another room were i was Roqar: East from Fungus room? Maybe check that door that Rolo saw? Dungeon Master (GM): Let me ping all the places that have spots you have not explored Sirus: Yeah I guess we check that door that Rolo saw. Rolo: where the spiders were first seen Sirus: We will go to the northwest corner and start with that room And work our way down from there. Rolo: k Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Like to hide, do you? Fine. We'll smoke you out, no matter how long it takes..!" Sirus: Door open. Farren Nidanas: (Ready action to fire longbow) Dungeon Master (GM): no the door will not easily open Sirus: Locked or barred? Dungeon Master (GM): could be Sirus: Which If it's blocked shut, an attempt to open the door should reveal which. Dungeon Master (GM): well no key hole so may be barred Sirus: Would crowbar be of assistance here? Dungeon Master (GM): maybe so I would need a strength check Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Cute. Ok, let's try this then." Attempts to use her crowbar to force the door open. 19 | 14 STRENGTH (4) Marcuria Violezi Sirus: unga Dungeon Master (GM): ok, she tries with all her might but the door will not budge! Sirus: ...Lemme guess....DC 20. Dungeon Master (GM): That's a good guess Roqar: Probably Sirus: e_e Marcuria the Human Barbarian Kicks the door hard in frustration, before taking a deep breath. Realizing that if she couldn't get in there, neither could the enemy. 13 | 13 Thieves' Tools (5) Marcuria Violezi Sirus: probe for trap Dungeon Master (GM): none is to be found Sirus: Then we try door
Dungeon Master (GM): it is locked and this has a keyhole Marcuria Violezi: 19 | 12 Thieves' Tools (5) Marcuria Violezi Sirus: unlock? Dungeon Master (GM): Marcuria successfully unlocks the door! Sirus: Splendid! Open. Rolo: sweet Sirus: Ding. Farren Nidanas: (Nice) Rolo: hell ya Dungeon Master (GM): Dusty draperies adorn the walls of this room, which also contains a bed and brazier. A badly disheveled dwarf lies bound and unconscious on the cold stone floor. Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Nundro..!" Rolo: lets get out of here Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Hang on. I don't trust this..." Says: "Doesn't it seem like this was too easy?" Rolo: is that him? Marcuria the Human Barbarian Gives a nod, before adding, "Yeah, but I smell a trap, not gonna lie." Dungeon Master (GM): It appears to be Nundro yes Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Yes it does, its a trap, but, we need to set it off to save him" Sirus: Is there any trace of magic in the area? Rolo: get him and go i think Dungeon Master (GM): you do not detect any magical auras here Rolo: i can cast detect magic as a ritual Sirus: Yeah, let's go ahead with that. Rolo: k i do Dungeon Master (GM): ok, after you cast the Detect Magic spell, you still do not see any magical auras in the room with the unconscious dwarf. Roqar: 15 | 8 PERCEPTION (1) Roqar Dungeon Master (GM): It does look like Nundro to Roqar Sirus: Are there any traps in the room tho, like darts or whatever Roqar: Pick him up carry him out of the room Dungeon Master (GM): well, Roqar made it up to the dwarf without any problem so far ok Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "....Tch, Roqar, I swear....." Roqar the Elf Rogue Shrugs gives her a smirk Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Alright, bring him here. Let's catch our bearings for a moment." Rolo: we should leave Dungeon Master (GM): ix cracked marble pillars line the walls of this hall, at the north end of which stands a nine-foot-tall statue of a dwarf seated on a throne, a mighty stone warhammer across his lap. Large emeralds gleam in the statue’s eyes. The dust and debris covering the floor has been swept to one side, and a campsite of sorts now spreads in front of the statue. Half a dozen bedrolls and packs are neatly arranged around a rough-built fire pit. Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Hey Juan, need some healing magic" Sirus: So ah, Roqar lifts Nundro and carries him to the room right here I think. Dungeon Master (GM): ok Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Gundren, I think we found him. I think we found Nundro." Rolo: ishut that door Dungeon Master (GM): ok Juan the Human Cleric Gives a nod and takes a few moments to tend to Nundro's wounds. Juan Denero, prays to Bhaal while laying a hand upon Nundro to heal a number of hit points equal to {{1d8 + 2]] (spellcasting ability modifier). This spell has no effect on undead or constructs. At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the Healing increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st. 6 Healing Touch Cure Wounds Juan Denero SPELL SLOT LEVEL 11 OF 4 REMAINING
Dungeon Master (GM): ok, that helps him a bunch Rolo: does that door lock from insde? Dungeon Master (GM): the dwarf slowly comes to and glances around, moaning a bit from the pains of being beaten. Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Easy there. Easy....you're gonna live." Nundro the Dwarf Says: "uhhh, uhmmm, who are you folks? Gundren is that you?" Gundren the Dwarf Says: "Yes, it is me Nundro, looks like they beat you up pretty bad." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yeah, we got Gundren here. Name's Marcy. Look, i'd love, and I mean really love to make with the idle chitchat, but we're not out of this yet. If you can stand, and walk, we can try to get you out of this cave, while we still can." Nundro the Dwarf Says: "groans a bit trying to sit up, "Yea, I think I can get moving just give me a moment." Nundro gets up and starts walking around a bit Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Great. Okay, let's see if we can get Nundro to safety, everyone." Roqar the Elf Rogue "Not the best, but it may help?" offers Nundro some rations Gundren the Dwarf Says: "Hmm, this statue is of the dwarven god of mining, Dumathoin." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Well, this is a mine. Actually...." Nundro the Dwarf Says: "Thank you my lady. It should help me get my motor running better here." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Walks over to Nundro, and takes out a vial of Dreamlily from her pocket, offering it to him, saying, "Here. If the pain gets really unbearable, this might help." Gundren the Dwarf Says: "Yes, yes, this is actully the old Phandelver mine for sure." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Is there anything that may be here thats worth taking out? That we can take?" Dungeon Master (GM): ok, Adventurers what is next? Sirus: Well, Marcy is offering Nundro a dreamlily for if he actually gets into major trouble or the pain gets to be too much, first. Secondly, probably gonna go south to get to the passage here, which appears to be another way up? high priority is getting Nundro to safety. Roqar: Yes thats true Farren Nidanas: Yep Dungeon Master (GM): well, Rolo did take the sack that was in this room. Sirus: Yeah that got added to the party loot, iirc? Dungeon Master (GM): yes of course Sirus: gucchi, we can discuss the splitting up of that later. Roqar: But there may be more... Sirus: ....Would it be bad to leave, rest up and come back for the rest? Although we do have the majority of the rooms cleared I want to say? Rolo: yes i took the loot share with the party Roqar: I'm game for that just add it to the list along with 2 dragons and another spellcaster Sirus: DM, Nundro and the vial of Dreamlily tho? I prompted on that one. Farren Nidanas: (Looks like there are 4 places that are still unchecked) Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so we are going to rest in this area? Sirus: No no no no Dungeon Master (GM): I did ping all of the areas before let me do it again Rolo: do i have a map of here now Sirus: Definitely not taking even a SR, with Nezznar skulking around somewhere. Rest means leaving the cave. Farren Nidanas: (ahhh so the south door from the old man ghost's is just a window?) Dungeon Master (GM): yes rolo the map depicts only part of the cave, basically the north east and south east parts are missing Rolo: k let party know that Dungeon Master (GM): so thus the fungi cave and aside of it's west enterance and the spellforge and smelter area Rolo: i examine it Roqar: Get Gundren N Nundro to safety come back here clean up? Dungeon Master (GM): ok one area is marked as having ghouls
Sirus: DM, Marcy offering Nundro a Dreamlily just in case. Response? Rolo: i agree Sirus: Yeah, get Gundren and Nundro to clean up, maybe camp outside for a rest, and then go back in to finish up. Rolo: where Sirus: lol to clean up. I mean, to safety. Nundro the Dwarf Says: "Yes, I will take it, my head still hurts like hell. Thank you." There's plenty of water here to take a bath in Sirus: oh god plz I did not mean to say clean up That was misteak Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Alright. Careful, though. This stuff will put your mind in a fog. If you really want it, then it's all yours, though. I've been in your place before, Nundro." Hands Nundro the vial of Dreamlily. Nundro the Dwarf takes the vial and gulps it down. Sirus: And now Nundro is high kekw So he has Poisoned condition for 1 hour, and gains immunity to fear, and if he drops to 0 HP again, he can be brought back to 1 HP instantly, once. Dungeon Master (GM): alright Sirus: Basically it's just 'Nundro don't feel the pain no more' Dungeon Master (GM): ok Rolo: are we leaving to rest Sirus: Yeah, let's go Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Alright. Everyone ready? Let's move." Nundro the Dwarf Says: "whew, It's like the pains are gone for sure now. This is strong stuff." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yeah, enjoy. I've hit this stuff pretty hard once or twice in my life before.....real blast." Farren Nidanas: (did anyone check this waters already?) Dungeon Master (GM): Ha! No one wants to bother with that door?! Farren Nidanas: (lol) Sirus: Are you trying to warn us that Nezznar is in there? Dungeon Master (GM): A still pool fills much of this cavern. The water is dark, revealing little of what might lie within. The shore of the pool consists of a thin layer of broken shells from strange, pale mussels, and a fishy odor hangs in the air. A passage leads south from this area, and a set of steps climbs up to the east. A sluggish stream flows out of the cave to the northeast. Sirus: lol no, not with Nundro in tow. We get Nundro to safety first, then when we come back, perhaps. So, is there a rope to get up on this side? Dungeon Master (GM): no need of a rope in the spot you are all at Sirus: So yes there is a rope. Good. Dungeon Master (GM): the passage to Roqar's right is filled completely with rubble Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Careful as you pass by, Gundren and Nundro. There's a slime monster of some sort down the other passage. We wouldn't want to get it's attention." Sirus: And climb rope. Dungeon Master (GM): now you see rope to get up to the ledge here Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "I think we're in the clear..." Nundro the Dwarf Says: "Ok, we'll stay away from there!" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Nundro....your other brother (Tharden)...what got him, if I might ask?" Glances over towards the dead dwarf over by the supplies. Nundro the Dwarf Says: "Oh, he put up a fight and got himself clobbered, poor fellow." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "By who? Was it the ghouls? Or...." Says: "...Or the Drow and their wonderful friends?..." Rolo: no friends of mine Nundro the Dwarf Says: "No, no, not ghouls, it was a bugbear he wounded, who retaliated." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Not you, Rolo. The other ones......a bugbear....understandable. I think Mormesk wiped most of them out, so there's a good chance whoever got him is enjoying a nice nap in the Negative Planes."
Rolo: we have tresureto split up Sirus: One thing at a time. Rolo: np Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "....Sorry, Nundro. At least he died fighting.....come on. We're almost out of here." Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so looks like you all leave the cavern, barbarian give me a perception check Marcuria Violezi: 18 | 13 DEXTERITY (3) Marcuria Violezi Sirus: ....That was meant to be perception. ffs Dungeon Master (GM): you note several fresh tracks here, all of which looks like they were in a hurry Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Tracks....oh boy." Rolo: leving or coming Dungeon Master (GM): leaving Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "They might be waiting for us outside." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Maybe they ran off" Dungeon Master (GM): give me another perception check Marcuria Violezi: 8 | 19 WISDOM (0) Marcuria Violezi Sirus: ok No hang on Wrong, again Let me remember how the damn skill check WORKS kek Rolo: rolling 1d20 + 3( 18 )+3 = 21 Marcuria Violezi: 3 | 3 PERCEPTION (2) Marcuria Violezi Dungeon Master (GM): heh Sirus: blind. Cool. Rolo: leaving or coming? Sirus: I like how even the advantage roll is a 1. What the fuck, dice. Dungeon Master (GM): ok, even though you note the tracks you can't pick out what they belong to other than bi-pedal and skittering creatures. Roqar: Like spider and Drow Sirus: eyup. Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "My gut says we're not gonna just be walking out of here without a fight. If I were you, guys, i'd get ready, just in case." Roqar: We go outside ready for a fight hehe Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Right. I'll see what I can do for you." Spends a few moments, singing a melodious tune infused with magic. Bardic Inspiration Avery Class: Bard You can inspire others through stirring words or music. To do so, you use a bonus action on your turn to choose one creature other than yourself within 60 feet of you who can hear you. That creature gains one Bardic Inspiration die, a d6. Once within the next 10 minutes, the creature can roll the die and add the number rolled to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw it makes. The creature can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails. Once the Bardic Inspiration die is rolled, it is lost. A creature can have only one Bardic Inspiration die at a time. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (a minimum of once). You regain any expended uses when you finish a long rest. Your Bardic Inspiration die changes when you reach certain levels in this class. The die becomes a d8 at 5th level, a d10 at 10th level, and a d12 at 15th level. Roqar the Elf Rogue Draws her shortsword adjusts her armor Sirus: Going to slap a bardic inspiration on Marcy and Roqar. Rolo: do u want me to draw them in so we ambush them with minor illusion Sirus: Perhaps. Actually, if we are gonna do that, maybe Avery can ritual-cast Silence, in case of magical shenanigans. If there is any chance of Nezznar and Other Drow throwing down magic Ok so, Roqar now has an inspiration D6 she can slap down. If need be Dungeon Master (GM): alright so Roqar goes outside the cave to look around? Roqar: Sure Sirus: pf ok. Marcy sticks near the entrance tho just in case.
Roqar: 3 | 14 STEALTH (2) Roqar 10 7 PERCEPTION (1) Roqar Sirus: hahahaha of course. The cursed dice are here. (To Roqar): she spots nothing unusual outside and nothing tries to attack her either in melee or ranged. Roqar: Sees nothing signals all clear Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so you all head outside now? Sirus: Ok, I guess we are heading outside, seems like. Rolo: what happened Sirus: Moved back, probably so the DM can put all our tokens outside. Roqar: New map Sirus: brb Dungeon Master (GM): just a map of nearby woods So now that you are here? what's the plan going forward? Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Anyone have any idea where we are now?" Rolo: what time of day and is my mage armor is still active Dungeon Master (GM): [you are still near the mine] its basically around 5:30 pm i think Rolo: can we head to nearest town for a rest Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "We going to Phandalin or the big city?" Dungeon Master (GM): more like 6pm need the world map up? Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Outside. And that's a great thing. Was tired of the smell of rotting flesh." Sirus: yeah let's see world map Phandalin for rest? Rolo: i agree Roqar: Yes Everyone can camp out at my place Big Grin Dont have much furniture yet tho Sirus: We can make a return trip to the mine to wrap up there, but yes, rest time is overdue. Also Marcy needs to see if she can get a few coins off of the rusted sords Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so i guess let's say you all trek back towards Phandalin until just about dusk, camp and continue on in the morning Rolo: brb Dungeon Master (GM): so about a 20 mile trip back Roqar: Neverwinter is the place for selling stuff and getting that strongbox opened Sirus: ah ok. Dungeon Master (GM): so I will bring up the town map wait, I just stay on this one so you can decide where to go Sirus: Yeah, we are gonna go to Phandalin so that Nundro can be safe, and maybe also catch a LR safely. In town. Dungeon Master (GM): but back in town at roqar's place the dwarf brothers will mention that they will hang here in Phandalin until they gather some more dwarf fellows to go back to the mine. Roqar: Yeah get them to safety then go off Sirus: insight check? Dungeon Master (GM): (To GM)rolling d6( 3 ) = 3 Rolo: back Dungeon Master (GM): (To GM)rolling d6( 6 ) = 6 Sirus: There was a Flameskull Dungeon Master (GM): (To GM)rolling d6( 2 ) = 2 Roqar: Thats on you, Dwarves Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Back? In that place...? Heh. Of course....why am I not surprised?" Sirus: Can we try for an insight check to recall that the flameskull has likely returned? Dungeon Master (GM): The dwarves say there is money to be made in that mine ok Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yeah, and also death.....then again, I guess I wouldn't expect anything less." Smirks a little.
6 | 21 INSIGHT (3) Avery 10 17 INSIGHT (2) Dia Xiloscient Marcuria Violezi: 13 | 11 INSIGHT (0) Marcuria Violezi Dungeon Master (GM): ok, Marcuria recalls that she has heard tales of flameskulls returning after though dead. Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Maybe we'll stop by sometime an see if your still in the mine" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "..! Wait a second. There was a Flameskull in that mine, right?" Rolo: do u want me to make a arcana roll Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "...I've heard stories that Flameskulls can appear to die, only to return like an hour or two later. We need something to guarantee that thing stays dead next time someone goes in there." Dungeon Master (GM): no need really Rolo: k Sirus: Any chance of getting holy water? Dungeon Master (GM): Nundro says, "If the Flameskull also lives on another plane, you may need to go there to actually kill it." Farren Nidanas: (hmmm) Dungeon Master (GM): maybe from the one cleric in town Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Theres a shrine of my lady Tymora in Phandalin" Dungeon Master (GM): yea and I forget the girl's name that is in charge of it. Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Good. Maybe one of the guys at the shrine can get us some holy water. If we're lucky, we might be able to just...put the magic holy whatever juice on the Flameskull to keep it permanently dead." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Let me have a talk with the Priestess, as one of the faithful, I'm sure I can get some holy water" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Sure thing." Roqar: Pays homage first Rolo: i follow Roqar: knocks on the door Sister Garaele the Cleric of Tymora Says: "Yes, who comes calling today!" Rolo: brb bathroom Marcuria the Human Barbarian Stayed back, as religion and temples were not her forte, instead deciding to head for the inn, perhaps to have a drink. "Avery, anyone asks, i'm at the inn. I could use a drink." Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Alright. We'll meet up there afterwards." Roqar: Pulls out the holy symbol she got off the priest awhile ago of Tymora Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Good Day,, Fortune favors the Bold, my Lady" Sister Garaele the Cleric of Tymora Says: "And a Good day to you as well, Roqar." Says: "So have you found the mine and Gundren's brothers?" Rolo: back im Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "My friends and I have been working on exploring the old mines and came upon a creature we believe we need holy water to destroy, May I have a vial this day?" Sister Garaele the Cleric of Tymora Says: "Oh my, I see, yes certainly, I can give you a couple vials!" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Sadly, we arrived too late to save one of the brothers, but we did save two of them." Sister Garaele the Cleric of Tymora Says: "Oh my! Sorry to hear, I will pray for him." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Has there been more trouble here in town while we were gone?" Dungeon Master (GM): ok so goes to retrieve two vials of holy water for you and hands them to Roqar. Sister Garaele the Cleric of Tymora Says: "No need of payment for these."
Roqar: Roqar puts one vial in one pocket the other vial in another pocket Dungeon Master (GM): ok Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Most kind of you, my Lady, May fortune smile on you" Sister Garaele the Cleric of Tymora Says: "Anything more I may be of help with?" Sirus: Only one question. Why are there two dead skeletons with us. :P Farren Nidanas: (lol) Sister Garaele the Cleric of Tymora Says: "And may the good Lady smile upon you as well." Sirus: kek, DM I think you overlooked something? Dungeon Master (GM): they just happened to be copied when i selected the group Sirus: yeh, thought so Dungeon Master (GM): over at the stonehill inn now? Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Gundren and Nundro will be staying in town for awhile, my friends are heading back to the mines, have a good day" Sirus: Yeah, seems about right. Marcy is already about to talk up the innkeep about food and drink. I guess renting out a room isn't necessary since they made camp out in the woods Roqar: Or you can camp out at the farm :P Dungeon Master (GM): well no camp in the woods yet. the dwarves want to find some more dwarves before they set up a camp near the mine. Sirus: I mean a traveling camp for themselves because it was getting late into the night. Not that kind of camp. Dungeon Master (GM): ok Sirus: You did say that they made camp for the night and picked it up again in the morning Dungeon Master (GM): that was the whole gang while coming back to phandalin Sirus: yes, that is what I meant righto Marcuria the Human Barbarian Heads into the inn and walks up to the bar. Roqar: Going to the Inn for food and drink Toblen Stonehill the InnKeeper Says: "Hello There Miss, Good day to you. What can I get you this fine day?" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Well, what've you got?" Sirus: Menu? Dungeon Master (GM): let me check if there is one Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "So far so good. Perhaps a little something to wet the whistle would be nice about now, before we head back out." Dungeon Master (GM): Toblin shows Marcuria a menu Toblen Stonehill the InnKeeper Says: "Mead, stout or apple cider?" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "I'll take the mutton and cheese. Stout'll be fine." Roqar the Elf Rogue Walks into the Inn a bit later "Hey guys, I got a vial of holy water Marcuria the Human Barbarian Counts out 10 CP and sets it down. Says: "Great to hear, Roqar. Come on, we'll celebrate over a round or two of the good stuff." Toblen Stonehill the InnKeeper Says: "Ah, very good Mame, I will prepare you meal for you!" Rolo: i follow and ask for the poched dragon Toblen Stonehill the InnKeeper Pours some stout into a mug and sets it before Mucuria. Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "I'll have what shes having" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "I'll pay for my friends' food and drink, bartender. Just give me a tally when it's done." Toblen Stonehill the InnKeeper Says: "Alright a Poached Dragon and a glass of mead coming right up for you sir." Rolo: ty i have 10 gp no change
Toblen Stonehill the InnKeeper Says: "Ok, another order of boiled mutton for the fine young lady, coming right up. Pours her a mug of stout." Sirus: Menu again? Maybe put it in the journal for reference? Avery's gonna order next. Dungeon Master (GM): it is in the phandalin folder and in the stonehill inn folder if you can see those folders Sirus: cheers. Rolo: cheers my new companions Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "I'll take the partridge and apricot, thank you. Perhaps with some cider as well." Juan the Human Cleric Says: "Mutton and Asparagus with mead for me." Toblen Stonehill the InnKeeper Says: "Very good Mame, an order of partridge coming right up for you." Roqar the Elf Rogue "Cheers" clinks mugs, takes a drink Rolo: out of game what time we playing too? Toblen Stonehill the InnKeeper pours Avery a mug of mead. Sirus: Unsure. Dungeon Master (GM): either 1 or up till 2 at the latest. up to you all Rolo: ty Dia the Elf Wizard Says: "Mutton and asparagus for me. Honestly, not in much of a mood for a hard drink right now though. Just the food, for me." Roqar: Today I'd say call it in 10 minutes Sirus: I might say push it a little past 1, just so we can have the characters kind of have a few moments to chatter amongst themselves. Dungeon Master (GM): ok, and can we decide on the party's next course of action in 10 minutes? I can bring up the world map again Rolo: ty working is kicking my butt lol Dungeon Master (GM): ok Roqar: thats fine we can chatter a bit Rolo: hope we level up soon to 5th lev Dungeon Master (GM): you are in fact getting very close to leveling up Sirus: Yeah but lemme guess, Nezznar has to go, first. Then level 5. Dungeon Master (GM): of course there is a good chance you will bump into him again as he desires the mine as much as the dwarves do Sirus: Sure. But he's gonna be significantly easier for us to deal with this time tho, unless the Flameskull wrecks us on round 2. Anywho... Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Never thought i'd be so happy to be back in a town. That whole mine smells of death and rot...." Says: " And we still gotta get back in there...." Halia Thornton the Guildmaster of the Ironshield Coster Says: "So you folks found the Phandelver mine?" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "We did, yeah. Packed full of the undead. And even worse." Rolo: after we eat i suggest a rest for sure Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Dont think it'll ever smell nice, its a mine, but, hopefully, Tymora will bless us and we can all come back here soon" Halia Thornton the Guildmaster of the Ironshield Coster Says: "Wow! Interesting. Oh, I am Halia, Halia Thorton, I run the Lionshield Coster just south west of here." Rolo: is there a store here Daran Edermath the Retired Fighter and Apple Orchard Farmer Says: "Barthen's Provisions shop" Rolo: ty Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "No, but I know mines aren't supposed to smell like the unholy crack of the Abyss itself.....greetings. Name's Marcy. Friends here are Avery, Roqar, Juan, Farren, Rolo and Dia. Well met, Halia." Takes a long draw from her stout with a contented sigh. Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Much better." Rolo: im liking the mead Avery the Half-Elf Bard Gives Halia a friendly little wave.
Halia Thornton the Guildmaster of the Ironshield Coster Waves back at Avery. Marcuria the Human Barbarian Clears her throat a bit and looks over at Roqar. "By the way..." Says: "When we finish with this mine business, think we ought to have a little personal chat. Between the two of us." Roqar the Elf Rogue I'm thinking of going to my farm for a nice bath, care to join me? Marcy? Dungeon Master (GM): I need to read up some of these townsfolks as they may want to say things to you plus you may have done deeds for them that are done now. Marcuria the Human Barbarian Leans over and sniffs her own body odor for a second before nodding. Says: "....Yuuup. I think I might let you hook me into a bathtub, sure. After the meal's done." Dungeon Master (GM): interesting, Marcuria and Rogar taking a bath together! Sirus: This may be put into Offtime lel Since I suspect that it may approach the nono zone kek Rolo: when we have some privacy will show the party the loot i message them indivialy i have to go ty guys great time Sirus: Cheers, cya. Roqar: Marcy is just the first not the only :P CYA Next week Rolo: ty and study the map later Daran Edermath the Retired Fighter and Apple Orchard Farmer Says: "Roqar my I speak with you privately for a moment, please?" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Certainly, pardon us" Dungeon Master (GM): ok, this will be whispered to her currently (To Roqar): Daran says,"For having helped look into the old Owl Well and the Redbrands for me and for having gone far beyond that now with honor and vigilance. I would like to extend to you an invitation." (From Roqar): Very kind of you, never have been invited anywhere before" (To Roqar): Daran says, "Good, good, My Lady, I would like to invite you into the Order of the Guantlet, an order for those whom have exemplified the virtues of order such as honor and vigilance. Do you accept my Lady? (To Roqar): The order seeks to protect others from the depredations of evildoers. (From Roqar): Stifles a laugh as she gets stout up her nose coughs a bit Yes, I will gladly accept it" (To Roqar): Daran continues, "The order is always vigilant, ready to smite evil, enforce justice, and enact retribution against any who try to subjugate or harm others." Roqar: Stifles a laugh as she gets stout up her nose coughs a bit Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "...?" , Says: "Okay. Comedy hour it is, then." (From Roqar): "Sounds like a great group" (To Roqar): Daran smiles and says, "Good my Lady I now award you with the title of Chevall. Welcome to the order." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Slams down the rest of her glass of stout before glancing to Toblen. Says: "Any chance I could get another glass of stout?" Daran Edermath the Retired Fighter and Apple Orchard Grower Says: "Certinaly mame!" (From Roqar): Smiles broadly "Thank you, very kind" Toblen Stonehill The InnKeeper refills Marcuria's mug ok the private convo with Roqar and Daran is done Dia the Elf Wizard Says: "Must you tank up like that, Marcuria? You're going to get yourself quite drunk." Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Relax, Dia. Two glasses is me on a normal day. I can handle my drinks." Roqar the Elf Rogue Roqar comes back over by Marcy and the others with a big grin on her face (To Roqar): https://travelogue.fandom.com/wiki/The_Order_of_the_Gauntlet Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Alright...I know what that grin means, Roqar. What is it?..." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "I am know a member of the Order of the Gauntlet, ranked at a Chevall" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Congratulations. That is a good thing, right?" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Yes, they fight evil help the common folk, good stuff like that"
Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Great. I'm sure people in town will appreciate it." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Was a bit weary at first, but, once I heard about it, I thought, sure, sounds good" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "As you should be.....still, that might come in useful later. Glad to hear." Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk After some time, he heads over to the inn as well. Dungeon Master (GM): alright Marcuria the Human Barbarian Glances towards the door when Farren finally does come in. Says: "Farren, took your sweet time, dude. C'mon, time to grab a bite to eat and a glass of something nice." Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Hey Farran, glad you came by" Toblen Stonehill the InnKeeper Hands Farren a menu , says: "So are you folks staying in town for a while now or is there more trouble out there you seek?" Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Just resting going back to the mines" Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "We'll be around for a little bit longer, but we gotta head out eventually. Not done clearing out that mine yet. There's still a couple of drow up to no good in there." Sirus: Oh shit that reminds me, the Spellforge magic probably has worn off by now. Tis a shame it can't be permanent. Dungeon Master (GM): you mean upon the weapons you had placed into the flames right? Sirus: yes Dungeon Master (GM): ok Sirus: Take it there's no way one could make a permanent enhancement with the spellforge Roqar: There maybe We have an NPC Wizard If we bring it to her :P Dungeon Master (GM): Maybe at some point in the future when powerful mages visit the place again Roqar: Dolores at my farm Dungeon Master (GM): ok Sirus: Somehow I don't think a level 4 mage student counts as "powerful mages" Dungeon Master (GM): this is 5E so yes Roqar: Not yet No but Maybe Dia later in life Sirus: I predict it will involve the DM slapping some NPCs in there. Roqar: We also can go to Neverwinter sell the blades get strongbox opened after we clear out the mine Sirus: Yes, that is the idea for after this scene. : x Ah btw, tally on everyone's meals? Dungeon Master (GM): you also have havenfell manor Sirus: Mmh yes but also no Finish off the mine first, then get the strongbox and other shit sold Dungeon Master (GM): at least 25 cp in total Roqar: and a Huge Boar in the woods Sirus: Okay, -25 cp from the loot stack then. Dungeon Master (GM): you have the trouble at the hunters lodge the green dragon in thundertree Roqar: White Dragon North Dungeon Master (GM): the White dragon is seen frequently in this part of the realm actually between Conyberry and Phandalin at the least Sirus: Sounds nice, but Marcy is still lugging around a heavy fuckin' strongbox. Still holding to my vote of Mine, round 2 and then the trip to Neverwinter. Dungeon Master (GM): I will need to have a look at the Icespire module for the other quest you currently know of. Sirus: dunno about the rest of you Roqar: Wizard leader of redbrands Dungeon Master (GM): llarno Roqar: Roqar got the guys to lug the cast iron tub for a week Shrug Sirus: Yeah but Marcy is spicy enough to actually complain about feeling like a packmule if forced to carry this thing around for too long. I think we can all at least agree that the first thing is polishing off the mine, tho? Lest it become completely repopulated somehow Roqar: Well So Roqar and Marcy go for a bath and we call it there? Oh Yes Clear out the mine first Sirus: how much XP for what we currently did tho btw
Dungeon Master (GM): when i type up this week's summary I will note the quests that you have yet to complete I think it was 200 xp per bugbear Sirus: And all the other creatures? Did we get XP for the skeletons and zombies and such? Dungeon Master (GM): yes Sirus: So that's already been awarded? Dungeon Master (GM): yes Roqar: Are we 5th level for next week? Sirus: Ok. How much XP from bugbears in total, if that hasn't been awarded yet? Dungeon Master (GM): I just forgot to add 1 bugbear i think so 200 more I might give you the xp on Mormesk Sirus: rip mormesk? Roqar: Sure because we did finish the encounter and Win sort of Dungeon Master (GM): not dead no but for the way you handled him Sirus: Ah ok neat. Pacifism XP. :p What's the grand total for XP now then? Roqar: I have to go do my shopping and get my pills today so CYA Dungeon Master (GM): just look on last week's summary, you guys don't get xp for the gold and loot anymore with 5E so the sack Rolo found does not give you any xp Sirus: Oh this is all from last week? Dungeon Master (GM): yes the additions will likely be the one bugbear and mormesk Sirus: 6,437 XP. Actually, if we are adding bugbear and mormesk then that will absolutely mean level 5. Farren Nidanas: Thank you everyone, not much involvement but good to join in again) Sirus: Yeah was good to have you Dungeon Master (GM): and Thank you all for Playing today and I hope to see you all next Saturday! Farren Nidanas: Bye Sirus: Yeah cheers.
