Whisper as a token

I want a player to receive a whisper from an NPC but I want it to read as coming from that NPC not as a GM. Specifically, one of my players can hear magic talk to her (this is just an abstract use of detect magic, functionally the same). I want to be able to select my "magic" token and start a macro that sends a whisper to the PC as that token so she receives for example "(From Magic) look at that I think its evocation magic, pretty strong to"

Maybe use target and selected in your macro... ie /w @{target|character_name} (From @{selected|token_name}) "?{Say what|}."

This is close, and this is close to what I use currently. But, at the bottom of the chat window you can select to talk as any of your characters you can control. Is there a macro to select from that drop down menu, run whisper macro, then change back the selection from the drop down menu. This would allow them to feel like that entity was talking as it changes the picture on chat. I can do it manually but often human error kicks in and I will start talking as magic to everyone, when everyone else isn't aware of this PC's way of detecting magic.

Unfortunately I don't believe there's a method (outside of an API script(pro feature)) where you can achieve a "/w as" functionality... ;-(  I think you have to manually toggle the "As" option from chat.

Thank you, I have considered upgrading I believe the campaign will get big enough to warrant needing the extra storage. API Functionality sounds like a another reason. I think this answered my question. Much appreciated.

If you do upgrade, I'm using a slightly modified version of the Emas  script, which does a GM whisper 'from' whoever you want really easily. Combines well with the Language Placeholder trick to speak as any NPC with a token on the page too.
