Can't get dynamic lighting to darken anything

3rd attempt posting.... I see users having issues with getting an individual token to emit light, or obstructions to give shadow, or dynamic lighting overlapping with fog of war - but I can't even get THAT far. So I MUST be doing something wrong. I cannot get the dynamic lighting to activate at all, even make the screen dark. I am specifically not using fog of war, only the updated dynamic lighting (UDL). I tried converting the 2 maps I want to use it on from the game page before launching. I checked settings on the individual page, and they both show UDL as being on. I even added a token and checked the token setting and Vision is On and Emit Light is set to 20 ft. I tried going to the Dynamic Lighting Layer, and there is no change even when drawing the polygons. I also tried using the new Eye icon on the toolbar to try and hide areas, no response on either the Map, Object/Tokens or Dynamic Lighting layer. NONE of these changes made any visible difference to the map. It doesn't go dim, there is no change in the lighting, even after re-joining as player. How do I get Dynamic Lighting to hide the map?
I am using Firefox
How are you checking the lighting? If you are logged in as a GM, you will still see the entire map.  You have to log in as a player. I'd suggest using a Dummy Account . Also, make sure you move the token... I've noticed sometimes a token's vision settings don't update/activate until they are moved (usually it's the reverse problem of seeing nothing until the token is moved).
I checked it as a GM and as a player. No change in the map.
And what does the Dynamic Lighting Layer look like?  Were the lines on the DL layer provided as part of the map (in a module/add-on) or did you draw them yourself?   If the lines were part of the map, have you tried drawing your own lines? If you drew the lines yourself, have you tried both the Draw Shape and Polygon tool?  If you want to invite me to your game I can check the settings to see if I see any issues.
There was no change to the dynamic layer map. It looks exactly like the tokens layer before and after I tried enabling dynamic lighting. The images are attached above. There weren't any lines ever for anything. I tried drawing to reveal or hide small areas and there was literally no change both on the token layer or the dynamic lighting layer. There are no lines other than the cube overlay.
I will try to invite you to the game

Ok, I accepted the invite -- feel free to edit your post so your game link isn't visible to everyone, and promote me to GM so I can take a look at your game settings. :) And for the future, if you want to send another person on the forums a private message, just click on their name, and then the Send Private Message button on their profile page.

Thank you for the help!!! I got my refund though after checking with a few other GMs on roll20 who said sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and you need to switch back and forth between UDL and legacy lighting. I struggle enough with the settings... I'll pay for the service once some of the bugs are cleared out.
