Whom Could Not Make It Today! Everyone played! Game Summary for Saturday (03/20/2021): Opening Scene: Day 20 : July 1 st , 8:00 am The
adventurers decide it’s time to head back to Phandalin and they arrive two days
later without encountering any sort of trouble along the way. The
next morning they decide to do some business to gather things for more
excursions outside Phandalin. Roqar
heads over to see Thagren Ironforge, where it is discussed about getting her an
engraved elven styled long sword with a gem, originally from an earring placed
into the hilt, the hilt looking like claws. Thagren will make it for the agreed
upon price of 16 gold pieces. However, it turns out that Juan, will just give
her the magical (+1) Talon sword, so she puts off getting the long sword made
for now. Avery,
buys a hand crossbow from Thagren for 75 gold pieces and 40 regular and 20 walloping
bolts for 12 gp more. Rolo
tries to detect magic on a mug found in Wave Echo Cave but it turns out not to
be magical. Marcuria,
pays a visit to Sister Garaele’s house. First thing she ask after the greeting
is, what the deal is between her and
Roqar. Turns out they are just friends, both of whom worship the goddess of
luck, Tymora. Sister
Garaele asks Marcuria if there is something she could do for her. Marcuria asks
if she has healing potions and a healer’s kit, (enough cloth bandages and salve
for 10 injuries). Sister Garaele sells her two healing potions (50 gp each) and
a healer’s kit for 5 gp. Avery buys a Healer’s kit as well for the 5 gp. After
that Marcuria, goes to have a chat with the dwarf Gundren. She tells him that
aside of the wraith, Mormesk, who told the party he once operated the forge of
spells, Wave Echo Cave (Phandelver Mine) is now cleared for being mined of its
metals again. Gundren
informs Marcuria, that Nundro and him are going to be looking for more dwarven
help with the mine now. And looking to set up a hidden camp somewhere near the
mine for now, as they inspect it and see what needs to be done before mining
resumes inside again and to also see if others, including Nezznar comes looking
for the mine. Marcuria,
jots down the name and location of a contact she knows, who could help rely
messages quickly if trouble arises. Next
stop is at Barthen’s Provisions where Marcuria buys some provisions off of
Elmar: Woodcarver's
Tools, Bag of Ball Bearings x5, Blanket, Chain(10 ft), Chalk x2 Grappling
Hook, Rations (4 days worth), Soap, traveler’s clothing. Rolo
buys a hooded cloak off Elmar for 3 gp. The
next day the adventurers leave Phandalin for the approximately 75 mile trip to
Neverwinter City. Traveling
roughly 30 miles per day they get there two and a half days later. But not
before they had to deal with a gang of Redbrand members on the High road! Dia
and Farren, had noticed the criminal gangsters awaiting for prey, hiding in
bushes along the road. Farren
hollers, “I see red! Come out from there, we see you…”! After
a few moments one Redbrand gangster appears on the road. Roqar Says: "More redbrands? You guys will never
learn" Ruffian #05 Says: "Good day folks! You wouldn't happen to
have so goods you could spare would you?" Roqar Says: "For a fee maybe" Marcuria Says: "Yeah, but not for Redbrands. Sorry." Ruffian Says: "Ha! Actually it is you that is paying the
fee here, so hand over your goods or hand over your life, your choice." Rolo,
Laughs out loud! Avery Says: "You won't win that fight. Don't you think you
should pick on less capable travelers?" Roqar Says: "I say lets take your lives for bothering
us" Marcuria Says: "Nah. Don't bother giving them a warning,
Avery. I vote we just flatten these losers for trying to jump us." Roqar, Draws the magical Talon long sword and starts twirling it
a bit More
redbrands step out from their hiding spots around the party Marcuria, slams her gauntlets together, shouting, "You want
some? Come and get it, then, you think you're so tough." Ruffian #05 Says: "Oh, a lively bunch here, they want a
fight! Shall we men?!" Marcuria Says: "Men? Hah! That's rich...." The
Redbrands all basically say their fine with it and always looking for a good
fight. Roqar Says: "I do so miss the last redbrand cloak I
had" Marcuria, snaps her fingers, turning her Cloak of Many Fashions
into a sinister black and red cape. Initiative
rolls are made and Combat Round #01 Begins! Dia,
casts the Thunder Step spell, teleporting herself to an unoccupied space, when
immediately after she disappears, a thunderous 160 decibel Boom! Sounds! Every creature
within 10 ft of the space she left must make a Constitution saving throw or
take the full 3d10=17 damage, otherwise half damage! The
two Redbrand Ruffians within the blast, suffer the full damage which kills them
both! Farren,
hits Ruffian #05 with the Ninjatō for 10 slashing
damage followed by a fist (unarmed strike) for 3 more, defeating him! Rolo, casts a Fire Bolt
cantrip at a Ruffian, but he dodges it! Avery, casts the Vicious
Mockery spell upon Ruffian #04, who fails his wisdom spell save rolling a 2
needing ≥ 15, thus causing 8 psychic damage and will be disadvantaged next
turn! Ruffian #04, tries to slash
Marcuria with the short sword, but being wozzy from the Vicious Mockery spell,
he missed! Marcuria, pounds Ruffian #04,
with the gauntlet punch for 10 bludgeoning damage, dropping him with a non-lethal knock out blow
this time! Ruffian #03, runs away from
the fight being the last one left standing. Dia contemplated ‘chasing’ him with
a Flaming Sphere spell and Rolo wanted to fire off Magic Missiles! Rolo pegs the fleeing Ruffian
#03, with 4 magic missiles dealing 15 damage, then Avery sends him to the
forest floor with a crossbow bolt dealing 5 damage, defeating him! When the party gets the
remaining ruffian awake he tells them “Look, Lady, I don’t know where he
(Llarno) the boss is, he simply shows up when he wants to and tells us what the
hell to do.” Marcuria says, “Ugh, Screw
this then. Go take a nice, long nap, Redbrand toadie”. Marcuria chokes him to
an unconscious state. Rolo decides to finish off
the unconscious ruffian, by sliting his throat. Once they get into
Neverwinter City, Roqar heads to one of the wizards, whom is on the council of
the Many Starred Cloak, that Farren spoke with during the last visit. Her name
is Ophala Cheldarstorn. The rest of the party head for the Driftwood tavern. [Other wizards on the council
are, Gyrion, Kabal, Lukan and Nostura.] Roqar pays the 10 gp to have
the wizard use a knock spell to open the 50 lbs strongbox they wheeled on a cart
to the city. Once the puzzle lock is worked and then the knock spell cast, the
box comes open to reveal: 600 copper
pieces, 180 silver pieces, 90 electrum pieces and 60 gold pieces.
When Roqar gets back to the
Driftwood, she sells the strongbox to Madame Rosene, the innkeeper, who herself
is an antiques dealer, having horded many items dated from before the cataclysm
struck, for 50 gp.
