Tokens losing link to character sheet when exporting

I have been having this problem, seeming at random, since at least November of last year. I play a lot of organized play so I am constantly exporting characters to new games. Sometimes, when I export the character, the token loses its connection to the character sheet and the settings it has. This happens only when I have a Default Token selected. If I don't and I just use the character image for my token, then this never happens. When I export, I set it up so that both the "In Player's Journal" and "Can be controlled & edited by" sections say, "All Players." I know that when this problem happens, the "Can be controlled & edited by" section no longer says "All Players" and is blank. The GM can fix this by changing this setting back to "All Players" or my character name. But it is highly annoying and I still lose any token settings I may have had such as token size, auras, hit point bars, etc. I cannot see any rhyme or reason to when it does and does not happen. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

How are you exporting? Character Vault?
Yes. I am using the character vault. I create/edit the characters in a game I have set up for the system. I then import it to the vault and export it to the game I play. This happens with Pathfinder 2e character sheets and Starfinder Simple character sheets. I haven't played enough with the Starfinder by Roll20 character sheets to know if it occurs with that.
