Bracket Linking Journal Entries With Same Name

I am running a Lost Mine of Phandelver and I am trying to make notes in my journal that will link to my monsters in the Bestiary. I have found the trick with putting the name of the journal entry into [] brackets but the issue is that in my journal I have 2 cards for each monster, the monster itself with it's stats, and a player handout with just the name and the image! I want my link to lead to the actual monster card, and the [] always link to the image! Is there any smarter way to get around this other than just renaming every single player handout!

If I am understanding you correctly, you are running into the issue where the linking system sees handouts and character sheets as the same thing: journal entities.  If you have 2 things with exactly the same name, you will run into problems and only be able to link to one of them (the first one created, I think).  One of your entries needs to be different, like "Goblin" for the sheet and "Goblins" for the handout.  For npcs I often use just the first name or a nickname on the sheet and the full name on a handout (especially if I am allowing the players to edit in info they find out about that npc).  I have sometimes put a period at the end of something to make the handout name/label be unique from the one used for the sheet. Basically, you will need to rename your handouts to have the name be unique in some way.  I am not aware of a way around that.
It's worth noting that once they're linked, they're linked no matter what you change the name to. If you want you can change it to xXxGoblinxXx, link that, and change it back. You should be also able to change the name of the link itself by pressing the "Link" button while highlighting the hyperlink in the editor.

Thankfully my campaign doesn't have that many things I need to link but it'd still be nice to be able to just get the link to the journal entry when you open it... like possibly a tiny button next to the popout button, that just gives you the link and you can do something like you do in chat   [plain_text](link)     . It would make these things a lot more convenient, also making it easier to attach the link to any text, and not have to go through the rename, and rename back that Joshua mentioned! I am very new to Roll20 but I imagine there is some sort of suggestions page where I could suggest this as a feature? I would love to see it happen eventually!
