Which version of Shadowrun?

Am considering picking the game up. But with 6e being so unpopular I'm more inclined to either 5e or 4e. I'd prefer the latter, but that assumes enough people still use that version. 5e looks horribly complicated. Thoughts?
Personally, I feel like 4e+ has added "nothing" to the SR world/game and, also, has reduced a lot of interesting angles for gameplay. (Again, my own personal feeling). When I play SR, I play a Hybrid of 3rd with 2nd influences; while I have looked at 4e and 5e (and played a COUPLE of sessions of each of those editions) I feel like the changes are not "good enough" to warrant a full on edition switch, and, still stick with 3e+ .  I have not investigated or played 6e based on the large amount of negative feedback, so, no real comment there. Since you're asking for thoughts frome an SR player/GM, there you have it.
4e is my usual go to choice, 5e is somehow playable, but still people I play with enjoy 4e most(That is to say, we started playing when 2e was released).
Thanks, I picked up 4e anniversary as it was on sale at the PDF shop. I've tried 5e, years ago, so perhaps my genius upgrade was faulty I couldn't cope with it. That was a level of crunch that, at the time, was more than I bargained for
My personal choice is also 4th Edition. Never got into fifth and heard only bad things about sixth.
Cool, so all I need to do now is: Read the game Learn how to use roll20 Buy all the supplements Read the supplements Play the game :D
I cannot recommend Chummer enough.  It's a free character creator/manager for Shadowrun.  I know there's a 5E version, not sure about prior versions.  Chummer makes it easy to create a Shadowrun character and, more importantly, to manage it during play.  Since changing weapons or most any gear can affect your dice pools, most people use it during play because it will automatically recalculate your dice pools, etc.
Thanks
