Weekly Game Session Summary #54 (04/10/2021)

A Thank You For Playing today's Dungeons & Dragons 5 th  Edition game of 04/10/2021 - From 10:00 am EDT, until 2:00 pm EDT, and our 64th Gaming Session, goes out to:   Barbarian – Human - Marcuria Violezi -  Connor D. Rogue – High Elf - Roqar -  Roxxifarius War Priest – Human – Juan Denero –  Buddy-D   Wizard (Evocation) – High Elf – Feralda - Chad N.     Whom Could Not Make It Today!   Monk – Elf – Farren Nidanas -  Bahrrenn Drakke Wizard (Sage/Scribe) – Drow Elf -  Daniel M.     Game Summary for Saturday (04/10/2021):   Opening Scene: Day 22 : July 9th, 2:00 pm   The adventurers had  made  their way across uneven ground rising to a ridge, when 18 hulking orcs ascend a similar ridge across from you, separated from you by a 60 ft wide, 10 ft deep gully. The orcs unleash terrible battle cries as they are joined by a half-orc Anchorite of Talas, with elongated claws. The battle here starts with a volley of missile ranged weapon attacks and Marcuria tries to taunt some of the orcs, being successful on taunting four of them along the front line! Combat Round #01 Continued: Orc #03, tossed a javelin at Rolo and strikes him for 8 piercing damage! Roqar,  picks up a tossed javelin hurling it back an an Orc, striking for 8 damage! Farren, fires an arrow from a long bow, nailing Orc #10 for 9 damage! Orc #04, taunted by Marcuria, comes down the ravine on a successful dexterity check of 19. Dia whom, prepared a spell unleashes a Flaming Sphere upon Orc #04, who fails to dodge the sphere, rolling a 4 on the dexterity save and takes 7 fire damage, defeating him! Another taunted Orc successfully comes down into the ravine on a dexterity roll of 19. Avery, casts Heroism upon Marcuria, Rollo and Roqar, now they are immune to fear and gain +4 temporary hit points! Orc #05, tossed a javelin at Roqar whom used her Uncanny Dodge and it missed her! An Orc fumbles trying to toss a javelin, and stumbles prone for 2 rounds, avoiding falling into the ditch! Orc #02, missed Marcuria with a javelin! Another Orc, also missed Marcuria with a javelin! A taunted Orc makes his way down and stumbles on a dexterity roll of 6 into the ravine, prone for 4 rounds! An Orc tossed a javelin at Marcuria, missing her! Feralda, casts a Fireball spell, hitting 7 orcs for 23 fire damage! The blast kills Orcs #05, 13, 15, 16, 17 while Orcs #04 and #06 took half damage of 12! Rolo, casts a Fireball spell, dealing 29 fire damage, defeating Orc #02, 03, 11, 14! Reidoth the druid, casts the Entangle spell, trapping Orc #18 and #10! Orcs #08 and 09, avoid it! 2 nd attacks for Round #01: Marcuria, picks up a javelin, tossing it back at an Orc but missed!   Combat Round #02: Dia, guides the Flaming Sphere successfully into Orc #01, who fails his dexterity save rolling a 10, for 6 fire damage! Juan, casts the Divine Favor spell, empower him to deal an extra 1d4 radiant damage on a hit! Marcuria tries to taunt the remaining Orcs, being successful with  Orcs #08, 09 and 18! Orcs #10, 12 and the Anchorite saved against it! An entangled Orc tries to break free of the plants and succeeds rolling a 13 strength check with a DC of 12! Roqar, picks up another javelin, tossing it back at an Orc  but missed! Farren, fires his long bow, striking Yargath the Anchorite of Talos for 9 damage! Orc #12, tossed a javelin at Juan and missed! Yargath the Anchorite, casts the Lightning Bolt, dealing 22 damage to Marcuria and 11 damage to Avery, Feralda, Rolo, and Roqar (thanks to uncanny dodge)! The blast temporarily deafens them being 160 decibels. Avery, casts the Healing Word spell, healing 5 hit points back to everyone she sees within 60 feet! An entangled Orc breaks free from the plants trapping him! A taunted Orc comes down into the ravine successfully on a roll of 10! The prone Orc stays prone this round! A taunted Orc enters the ravine successfully on a roll of 13! Faralda, casts a Scorching Ray upon Yargath the Anchorite for 16 fire damage, defeating him! Rolo, casts the Magic Missiles spell upon Orc #10 defeating him! Then retreats into the treeline.   2 nd Attacks for Round #02: Dia, casted Ray of Frost as a bonus action dealing 11 cold damage to Orc #01, defeating him! Juan, fires a bolt from the light crossbow, hitting the Anchorite for 13 piercing damage! Faralda Casts the Scorching Ray upon an Orc, hitting for 11 damage!   3 rd Attacks for Round #02: Faralda Casts the Scorching Ray upon an Orc, hitting for 9 damage!   Combat Round #03: Dia, casts the Sleep spell (21 HP of creatures affected) upon the Orcs #08 and #09! Juan, missed Orc #12 with a bolt from the light crossbow! Marcuria, successfully climbs down into the ravine on a roll of 17, using a rope and grappling hook attached to a nearby tree! Orc #18, goes down into the ravine himself successfully on a roll of 12! Roqar, follows Marcuria down into the ravine Farren, fires an arrow with the long bow, missing Orc #18! Orc #12, successfully moves down into the ravine on a roll of 19! Avery, casts Vicious Mockery at Orc #12, but he rolls a wisdom save of 20, shaking off it’s effect upon him!  Feralda, casts a Fireball spell, dealing 36 HP full damage, which defeats Orcs #06, 07, 08, 09 and 18! Rolo, casts the Magic Missiles spell  upon Orc #12,  dealing 3+2+2 damage, defeating him!   2 nd Attacks for Round #03: Dia moves the Flaming Sphere to get closer to an attacking Orc! [No longer needed as all Orcs are defeated now!] End of Combat! Searching the bodies finds coin pouches on them and a vial upon Yargath the Anchorite! The party finds a spot in the Neverwinter woods to rest in Dia’s magical Tiny Hut and nothing disturbs them during that time. Rolo casts the Identify spell upon the vials glimmering red liquid contents and finds it’s a potion of greater healing (4d4+1)! The party continues onwards guided by Reidoth’s woodland friends and the map found in the woodland manse. Ominous storm clouds gather in the sky as you approach a ninety-foot-tall hill with trees spreading across its slopes. Atop a hill is a large ring of eight upright stone structures, each one consisting of two 10-foot-high vertical stone slabs spaced 5 feet apart and topped with a 3-foot-thick flat lintel stone.

In the middle of the circle, two ghastly humanoid figures dance around a deer carcass, within this henge each wearing the rotting head of a boar as a mask. They are joined by 18 frolicking twig blights. The party moves part way up the hill, hiding behind trees as they go. Spotting two cave entrances as they do so. Rolo then casts Invisibility upon Marcuria. Dia casts Longstrider upon Marcuria. Feralds then casts a Fireball spell, for 34 hit points full damage, centered upon Twig Blight #17! The fireball blossoms out engulfing everyone inside the ring of stones! All of the twig blights burn up! One Anchorite takes full damage the other half of 17 hp! Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 Begins: Avery casts the Silence spell upon the Anchorites, making them unable to cast spells with a verbal component! Farren, fires an arrow with the long bow, dealing 9 damage to Narux the Anchorite! Rolo, casts the Cromatic Orb at Flenz the Anchorite, dealing 10 acid damage! Juan, casts the Sacred Flame spell upon an Anchorite dealing 10 radiant damage after a failed dexterity save roll of 10 needing ≥ 13d! Feralda, casts the Scorching Ray spell at Flenz the Anchorite, dealing 20 fire damage, defeating him! Dia, casts the Flaming Sphere spell, and Narux the Anchorite fails to dodge out of it’s way with a dexterity roll of 5, resulting in 12 fire damage! Reidoth the Druid stays back, seeing it appears the adventurers got this fight! Roqar, just dashes to a new location, thanks to the longstrider spell. Narux the Anchorite, throws a clawed gauntlet punch at Juan and missed him! Marcuria, whom is invisible, delivers a gauntlet punch at Narux the Anchorite, hitting for 12 bludgeoning damage!   2 nd Attacks for Round #01: Feralda casts a Scorching Ray spell at Narux the Anchorite, dealing 8 fire damage and defeating him! End of Combat! Nothing of value is found upon any of the bodies here. As the party moves around on the hill it is noted that there are actually 3 cave entrances that go inside the hill. Feralda cast the Familiar spell to send an Owl around the inside the cave and this is what is seen, (No sign of magic being used anywhere in the cave]: South East Cave: Carved into the lintel stone above the mouth of this cave is a pictograph depicting three stick-figure humanoids being struck by lightning.  The floor here is covered in dirt. Situated in the middle of the intersection 15 ft inside, facing the cave mouth, the skull of a boar rests atop a pile of humanoid and animal bones. 15ft to the west of the bones pile is a pen with a gate lashed shut with rope. It is holding a boar. 10ft north of the bone pile is a cell, lashed shut with rope, holding a deer. 10 ft to the west of that is what appears to be a living space. Niches in the walls hold clay dishware, wooden utensils, gathered berries, bundled herbs and creepy totems.  A gate in the south west corner opens into a 15 ft long passage slopping upwards, with a trap door in the ceiling. Avery cuts the rope on the gate holding the timid deer and coaxes it out of the cell then outside. Avery, then cuts the rope to the boar pen, once everyone but her is out of the way from the area leading to the exit. The boar rushes out trying to gore Avery in the process but missed! Once the Boar is gone Marcuria opens the trap door in the ceiling to see it come up and out onto the hill near the south east side of the stonehenge circle. The North East cave is the next one. North East Cave: The lintel stone above the mouth of this cave is bare. The floor here is covered in dirt. 15 ft inside is another pile of bones, with a skull of a boar on top, situated at an intersection 15 ft inside. 15 ft to the south of the intersection is another gated pen with a boar.10 ft west is a cell holding a deer. 5ft west and 5 ft south opens into living quarters with contents similar to the 1 st cave. Near the living quarters south west corner is another game which opens into a passage which goes 15 ft south, 10 ft east then 15 ft south west slopes up to a trap door in the ceiling which leads up and outside on the north east side of the Stonehenge. The deer is freed and so is the boar, in similar fashion to the way it was done in the first cave. Now the North West Cave: Carved into the lintel stone above the cave mouth is a picture of a boar chasing after a stick-figure humanoid. Going south east 15 ft inside the cave at an intersection is the now familiar pile of humanoid and animal  bones with the boar skull sitting atop of it. Marcuria, weary of all of this kicks the bone pile. 10 ft south of the intersection is a gated pen with a boar. 20 ft to the east of the intersection is a cell with a deer. 10 ft from that is the living quarters, again similar in looks and contents to the previous two. In the south west corner, a passage goes 10 ft south, 15 ft west and slopes up 10 ft to a trap door in the ceiling which opens out near the north west sid of the Circle of Thunder. Dia casts the Mage Hand cantrip here to undo the ropes holding the deer and then the boar to let them out.
