The Rise of Tiamat

Hello, my name is Presli and I am looking for one to two committed players to join our ongoing campaign which is an edited version of Tyranny of Dragons and has reached Rise of Tiamat. Players are currently at Lv. 10, which is the level you will be starting at. I will give a brief rundown of what your character will know to get you caught up if you are accepted as soon as I can, along with figuring out how you fit into joining the group.

My Dming style is usually a focus on story, with some homebrew elements but I do enjoy a good battle. I try to balance Roleplay and Combat in my Dming, though I can be a bit heavier on the RP side so please understand that I like players who really get into character.

We will be using voice, and video with voice in Discord, and Video in Roll20. Games are played on Saturdays at 5pm PDT generally going until 10:30 though sometimes they are shorter or longer depending on everyone's schedule. I am currently a full time student but I promise to do my best to run this game every week barring other circumstances and I would like players who are similarly committed. I intend to finish this module before I leave for Medical School so too many missed weeks may make that not possible.

This adventure is heavily edited from the original book, but sticks to the basic storyline and takes place in the Forgotten Realms. The more knowledge you have of the Realms is probably better, although I have altered a few things depending on what I decide, but it's okay if you don't know everything, I don't either. There might also be a little railroading, this module is written in a way that might necessitate it sometimes, I will try not to.

I will have a basic application thread below, and if you are chosen I will pm you to let you know. We currently have all spell-casters with a Warlock, a Sorcerer and a Bard, so I would favor characters with a more melee bent, as that is something that will help the group. I would also love it if your character was a member of one of the factions, some of those being The Emerald Enclave, The Harpers, The Order of the Gauntlet, or The Zhentarim, as that would make it very easy to add you as a member but that is not required. If you are chosen I would like to do a small session 0 either an hour or so before the session, or maybe on Friday.

My basic rules amount to please treat everyone with respect, this is meant to be fun so please come at this with that attitude.

I do not mind serious RP, but I would like to keep it at a non-R-rated level in the sexual side of things, mentioning stuff is okay, details not so much work on a fade-to-black mechanic. Just use your common sense here.

Gore and violence I am good with, I worked as an autopsy technician, there is nothing that will bother me in that department, that being said if you are squeamish this might not be a great fit for you as sometimes I forget to filter.

I do have some table rules, which will be in the game's discussions, mostly easy simple things that make the game run smoother(i.e. Potion as a bonus action)

No Evil alignment PCS, neutral is fine, but please keep in mind this is a bit of a heroic story, have a reason you're looking to join a quest to save the world. I would like to keep it at published books only, though no monster races please.

I really just want to play a fun game that everyone can enjoy and will hopefully continue for quite a while.
