THIS DATE AND TIME IS A PLACEHOLDER!!! We will most likely play on Saturdays at the scheduled time you see here every other week. We are currently a group coming out of an 9 month long Strahd campaign, and we will most likely be starting Princes in late May or early June. We are looking for people who love to role play and get into their characters. Combat is of course important but RP'ing takes center stage with us. In your application please put your playing experience on roll 20 and with 5th edition. Please include your character concept and backstory (including why you are part of the wagon train mentioned below...} including race, and class. We are looking for unique and fun character ideas and are excited to see what you bring to the table!
What we are looking for:
Commitment- We just had an 8 month campaign where everyone we had was there from beginning to (almost) end. We are losing a few to life circumstances but having a solid crew around week after week was a great experience and we want to keep that going.
Fit- This is of course hard to quantify and evaluate without playing with you guys, but to help out please include what it is that drives your interest/ passion for DnD. Is it story, character arcs, combat, Roleplay....? In the end a good game consists of people who fit well together, playing fun while creating a great story. I see the people playing as the cornerstone of that concept.
Interesting PC's- We are looking for PC's with interesting concepts. Of course the character does not have to be completely fleshed out now but eventually we would like PC's that have interesting backgrounds complete with flaws, goals, desires and pursuits. I want to weave your character into the story and make him/her come alive. Where your character starts as a person should not be where it ends and that all begins with a backstory with a little meat to it so it can be built upon as we move along. The story is paramount.
You are adventurers who are part of a wagon train moving through the Dessarin Valley. The purpose of the wagon train is to bring building supplies to Neverwinter so the city can continue to steadily rebuild from the catastrophic Mt. Hotenow eruption. The wagon train is traveling from Waterdeep and like most caravans has picked up an array of interesting characters along the way. Perhaps you have been hired on as security to protect the supplies due to an increase in bandits on the road to Neverwinter. Perhaps you are on the run and moving north hoping that blending in with other vagabonds will help you escape detection. Perhaps you have been sent north by a faction you work with (Lords Alliance, Emerald Enclave, The Harpers, The Order of the Gauntlet, The Zhentarim) to check out the mysterious disappearance of a delegation from Mirabar. Whatever the reason, you find yourselves trundling north on the Long Road choking on dust and looking down The Long Road wondering what the future holds.
My hope is to make this adventure really come alive and feel as fleshed out as I can. This area of the world is full of history and is a character in it's own right. It has a real frontier feel; it is almost like a western setting. The main factions of the DnD world (Lords Alliance, Emerald Enclave, The Harpers, The Order of the Gauntlet, The Zhentarim) all have a reason to be involved in the happenings of the story, and it makes sense that some of you would be affiliated with one of those factions. If you want to work that into your backstory feel free (or don't). If you don't know much about the factions a quick google will give a good sense of what each one is about. Feel free to build backstories together as well.
As usual all published material is usable for your builds except flying races. Unearthed Arcana on a case by case basis. Revised ranger is fine as well. No evil characters please. It looks like we currently have a war-lock and monk although these could change before the game. We have a great dynamic and are looking for people who love to RP and are willing to commit to a long campaign. Like I said before our last campaign has lasted around 8 months and this one will be longer.
