Star Wars: The Score

Its been five years since the end of the Republic, and the birth of the Galactic Empire. Palpatine has begun clamping down on the galaxy, his growing shadow creates more space for the disenfranchised and the unscrupulous to operate. As if in grim mockery of the increasingly tyrannical Empire, monolithic criminal organizations spread their tendrils, absorbing or squeezing out independent operators. Bounty hunters, smugglers, and mercenaries alike feel the pressure to join, or become an object lesson. The price of independence continues to rise.

One of the last true independent operators, the legendary criminal known only as Kassadyne, has had a long and relatively successful career highlighted by acts of remarkable audacity. A being who has had a price on his head from the Hutts, Black Sun, and a dozen lesser organizations, Kassadyne has worked with some of the most famous names in crime, always assembling new crews for each of his jobs, and only keeping the best of them to continue working with.

Now Kassadyne has called for those wanting and willing to "audition" for him on the forelorn planet known as Maiden's World. Desperate, blood-thirsty beings from all across the galaxy are sure to answer the call... as are spies from the larger cartels, looking for an opportunity to undermine or even kill the eternal thorn in their master's sides. Kassadyne has promised that, for those who can persevere, the ultimate score is at stake.

So the question, chum, is... do you have what it takes?

About the game: I'm using Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars, specifically the Edge of the Empire rule book. Species and (non Force Using) careers from other books are allowed, but EotE is the core of this Campaign.

Voice is an absolute must, and I use Discord

CHARACTER CREATION: Standard EotE character creation. NO ADDITIONAL OBLIGATION MAY BE TAKEN. Everyone starts with 5. Choose your Obligation carefully, it will come into play. This game will feature a wide variety of elements; intrigue, survival, stealth/infiltration, strategy, planning and, of course, combat. Create accordingly.
BONUS: Each PC has 1,000 credits with which to purchase equipment, but all equipment must be "base" (i.e. no modifications or attachments).

ABOUT THE GAME: While I wouldn't say that this game is going to be "R", I would say that it will be a hard PG-13, bordering on R. This is about the darker side of the Star Wars galaxy. Role-play and character development will feature heavily, and choices will have consequences, both good and bad. Character death is a very real possibility.

The core of this campaign (at least initially) is the competition to become part of Kassadyne's crew for his next big score, and in the spirit of that, I expect some "rubbing" between player characters. While I would strongly discourage outright PVP (and a reason for that will be woven into the narrative), you must be mature enough to deal with this aspect of the game. Similarly, the PCs will be competing against NPCs who are ruthless and, in many cases, more skilled and better equipped, so you must be mature enough to accept that you won't always be able to Billy Badass your way through every challenge.

ABOUT ME: My name is Tedd (or WildKnight, or WK, whatever), I'm 41 years old, a DM/GM with over 20 years experience. For Star Wars, I started with the WEG d6 version, and have played every iteration between. I have a family, so missed sessions are a possibility. If I miss a session for any reason, obviously I will refund players for that session (or move their payment forward, at their discretion).

My GMing style is heavily narrative. I prefer not to use maps whenever I can avoid it, though I'll be incorporating some for this campaign, as well as visual aids.

ABOUT YOU: In case you haven't gotten it from my previous statements, two requirements for this campaign will be an interest in role-playig (over rollplaying...) and maturity. Additionally, I'll expect you to be courteous to other players and respectful of everyone's time. This means not only being on-time for the game (preferably a bit early so we can make sure sound is working, etc), but also allowing everyone their spotlight time, etc.

If you disagree with me on a rules call, I'm perfectly willing to discuss it, but preferably not during the session. I'm the first to admit that I'm not a rules master by any stretch of the imagination, I prefer to keep things moving, but I'm flexible where its warranted. Likewise, if you have an issue with another player, I would ask that you bring it to me so that we can discuss it and, if need be, discuss it with them.
